Sounds like good news is coming your way.:grouphug:

I sure hope so! He just asked for crab cakes for lunch so he's definitely got a good appetite which is nice. I've been bending over backwards to make things he likes so he'll eat and I think he's getting a little too used to it! We had steak and crab cakes for dinner and don't have any left. He's getting chicken soup and mac-n-cheese instead. Not a good combo, but it's what he wants.

I think I'll try and make our August ADR's this afternoon. I'm feeling so much better after hearing Keegan's blood work was as good as we could have expected. I really can't believe I'm looking forward to an official diagnosis of pneumonia this afternoon.

Keegan's doctor just called and said his white cells are elevated, showing he is fighting an infection. He said that nothing pointed to leukemia but that he wants him to still do the CT scan to rule out other things. He said we'll talk more this afternoon when he sees him and can listen to his lungs. He said crackling is good. I'm wondering if he'll have to be on antibiotics longer with the fever still coming/going. Our insurance has still not approved the CT but my DH called them and they told him the approval should go through this afternoon.

I'm so happy that things are looking good, although I know you will feel better once he is back to himself. It makes you feel so helpless when your children are sick. Sending you lots of good wishes that he recovers quickly!

Good afternoon everyone...how is everyone managing getting back into routine? At least Monday is half over! DS is off at school, DD is going in for a nap and I have to go catch up on all the cleaning & laundry I never got done since I was sick then away. I also have a PTA committee meeting today but hopefully it will be short.

Question for everyone...I was discussing dining at WDW with the family yesterday. I think we may want to do a character breakfast. I would like to do one that we haven't tried before....we're considering 'Ohana or Tusker House. Any opinions? Thanks!

Veronica

DH drives everyday for work too. He gets a company car and gas card too.
Today he had to go to Rochester, 3.5 hours away, but that drive he only makes once a month. His longest drive during the week is 2 hours each way. Have fun at work :)

Wow, I'm so glad that Paul works only 20 minutes away :thumbsup2

Fun, fun, fun - it's almost lunch time! A mere hour and 15 mins till FOOD! Probably salad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2:

Were you good Laurie ? or did you have something naughty but nice ?

Panera is sounding good right now. Obviously I haven't started WW yet:rotfl:

Oooh, that sounds promising. I hope more good news is on it's way :thumbsup2

Where is everyone this afternoon?? It's VERY quiet... :tiptoe: I am sure the whole group will perk up as I drive home, then I'll have 10 pages to catch up on!!! :joker:

I've been busy taxi-ing the girls around all afternoon. We've had tea, so all being well I've got an evening of DISing ahead of me

Have a safe journey home Laurie :)

I'm going to be PMing the up-to-date Fish Extender List out to everyone shortly :fish:

That's encouraging if he's hungry :thumbsup2

What are you hoping to book for your ADR's Danielle ?

Hey Veronica, I loved O'Hana's for breakfast  it's has a great atmoshphere and the food was really nice. It's served family style, where they bring it out in a big skillet, and you can ask for more too. I can't wait to go back in August to see Stitch :stitch:

We've not done Tusker House yet, but I've read good reports. It's a buffet style with characters and I'm looking forward to trying somewhere new

I'm booking:
Boma (dinner) on 8/21
Chef Mickey's (dinner) on 8/22
Garden Grill (dinner) on 8/23
Hollywood and Vine (dinner) on 8/28
Finnegans at Universal on 8/29
Tusker House (dinner) on 8/30
Crystal Palace (dinner) on 8/31
Ohana breakfast on 9/1

We have done all the above before and really love them. We've done most if not all of the character dinners. Dh isn't a big breakfast person so we have not done too many character breakfasts. We have eaten at Ohana for breakfast and I'd have to say it was definitely my favorite character breakfast out of Princess Storybook and Donald's Breakfastsaurus. The boys and I are doing Tusker House's new Safari breakfast and Hollywood and Vine's Little Eisntein (they boys aren't into them, just breakfast buffets!) in April so I'll let you know how it goes.

Glad to hear he is doing better - BUT - I'd lay off the mac and cheese, at least when Dominic had the cough w/pnemonia - they told me to keep him away from cheese/milk - I know it is processed, but, still, it will make him more phlegmy. Gotta keep w/a lot of liquids, soups, etc. That is just my 2cents there - speaking from experience.

I didn't realize Tusker House was a character meal. We LOVE Ohana - Stitch, Mickey, etc. It's great! And the food is pretty good too!!

What kind of committee are you on THIS time? You are SO like me!! I am meeting on weds w/my co-chair for the Gertrude Hawk sale, and we have Talent Show practice this friday for the next 8 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY do I do this to myself?!?!?!?

I am looking forward to the new FE list.. WOO HOO - I still haven't done any shopping BTW!! :)

The only Character dinner we've got booked is Chef Mickey's on the 22nd too, we're booked in for 6.15pm - so imagine if we get to meet up before the Cruise - that would be soooo cool

We usually tend to have late breakfasts (10 - 10.30) and then all we'll need is snacks during the rest of the day or maybe a CS between two of us

Oh no, I can feel myself getting all excited again :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks for the advice. They didn't tell me anything about avoiding dairy, but that might be because they were so unsure of what it was/is. He's a huge milk drinker, but I've been pushing clear liquids. He fell asleep so I'm the one now eating half the mac-n-cheese. I'll make sure he sticks with the soup.

How long did Dominic have it? Was he constantly tired? Keegan's so pale white with dark circles under his eyes even after sleeping a lot more than usual. I know they say the oxygen in the blood is reduced and that can happen, but it's scary. How long was he out of school? Did he have a fever a lot? Sorry for so many questions, but it's all so new to us.

I think Tusker House converted to a buffet with characters for breakfast about late last year or January. They have a TS buffet for lunch and dinner now. It was our favorite CS meal in all of WDW so I sure hope the dinner has the rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes and veggies it had before.

I agree both Tusker House and Cosmic Rays for the rotisserie chicken etc. are the best CS meals for us too :thumbsup2

Mandy--our ADR's at 5:15 at CM so we may just see you there! We usually have later dinners, but this time we chose pretty early times so we can head back to the parks for more rides and the firework shows.

We are also huge Cosmic Rays fans. I think I know Sonny's sound track of corny jokes by heart! It's not ususual for us to eat there twice on an MK day! Keegan and I usually split the chicken/rib combo and have more than enough for both of us.

Mmm, I could just eat a Cosmic Rays chicken dinner right now (blooming diet, I'm always hungry :rotfl: :rotfl: ) ;)

Well, I just called to finish up our ADR's.

Last week I called and did 8/21- 8/30 and was told I'd have to call back yesterday to do the 31 and 9/1/08. I got through to the first guy who was hard as heck to hear and he said I'd have to call March 4th. I told him I was told to call yesterday and he said wait. He comes back 5 minutes later and says I'm wrong and they'll probably delete my ADRs. I say thanks and call back. I get another CM that confirms all of my ADRs that I made last week and adds the 31/1st no problem. I guess I better call back next week just to check again. Did anyone else have a problem? I know I'm forever reading about CM's giving conflicting advice, but this is the first time I've ever had a problem myself. Then again, when I called a few weeks ago to see when my 180 days would be the CM asked me what ADR's were when I referred to them as such!

:cheer2: Woohoo, you're all booked now :cheer2:

That must've been a bit of a worry. I know when I rang to make my ADR's, the guy said I was a day early. So I just rang back and got the most helpful CM around. I've heard that they don't know what ADR's are. I usually say that I'm making dining reservations

Glad you got it all sorted out Danielle :thumbsup2

I wouldn't worry. There are quite a few CM's these days that are not too sure what they are talking about. I always thank them for their time and call back. Quite often I know more than they do.

Glad you got everything you wanted :)

Well girls my exercise DVD's came today so no more excuses. I have to Walk Away The Pounds. Even came with a nice purple stretchie band :cheer2: I will start first thing tomorrow. Today a big cheeseburger is on the menu with fries :cool1:

Thanks everyone for all the information! Based on all the advice I will go for 'Ohana for breakfast. I'm really starting to get excited! Now I just have to figure out what days I want to be where and book the ADRs.

Laurie, this committee was Parents as Reading Partners. We are planning 3 weeks of activities for April. Still sounds much easier than your talent show though!!! Its amazing what we will do for our kids and their school isn't it.

mmmmm.... Cheeseburger and fries sounds really good!!!! Enjoy! I never got to Curves today so I have to at least eat well today. Enjoy the new DVD...tomorrow I will be back to exercising too.

Mandy, thanks again for all your work on the FE exchange!!

Hope everyone had a good day!
Veronica
