2008, 24th/28th Aug - *Double Dipping with the Bahama Mamas* (Part 2)

It is getting so close!!! I am so excited!

I hope to really catch up with you all later today!:goodvibes

Heather - I hope John enjoyed his bachelor party last night, did you have a good time with your friends too ?

I did have fun at the comedy club last nite it was much better then staying home while he went out to a strip club lol.....
I didn't speak to him really yet as I told him all i wanted was a phone call when he got back to his friends house so I knew he was in for the nite and alive. But he said he had an ok time....I was with his cousin and probably one of the funniest things that happened was one of the guys John was with calling her drunk to tell her how she was ruining his nite cause he likes her and she doens't like him lol....and that the girls at the club couldn't compare to her...it was a quite entertaining conversation lol...Well now that all the pre-wedding events are over I guess we can spend the next two week just relaxing...I keep getting asked if I started packing and the answer is no and people look at me like i'm crazy...I mean we don't have much summer clothes to begin with so we don't pack till the last minute!! We did pack the stuff for the gift bags for everyone coming with us sooo I guess thats something lol.

Well I guess thats it for now hope eveyone is doing well and I can't wait to meet you in two weeks. I was telling my fiance about the meet and he said he'll be the one drunk already lol...We can't wait to go away and get married and can't believe that it is so close...2 weeks from today I will legally be his wife and have a new name :) :dance3: :dance3:

Hello All! It's almost vacation time:banana: We are leaving on the 16th, how about everyone else?
We have had a busy summer here. Shae is at the gym working on tumbling 4+ times a week. Christopher has started soccer practice. Next week he is attending a camp at the local community college for organization, time management, note taking and test taking skills. To say he is excited would be a HUGE lie
We saw the Police in concert last week and it was great! I will try and post a picture.
Mandy how was the X-Files? My husband Paul loved the X-files and wants to see the movie soon.
We went a little crazy with FE gifts and have plenty to give to both groups :confused3 Oh well the more the merrier;)
I read on the boards there is a FE group on another cruise with over 130 people:scared1:

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Debi

Hi everyone,

Sorry I wasn't around much lately. Things have been crazy busy for me.
I haven't had a chance to read through all the past few days posts, but will try and catch up sometime soon.

The good news is, Keegan's doctor called us yesterday (10 days after CT) to let us know he will not need surgery right now, that the entire mass is now nothing but scar tissue and that he won't need another CT anytime soon (unless he gets more chest pains). He said we still have to watch him in case it were to re-grow or get infected, but that he has no limitations. To say we are relieved is an understatement. Fortunately we begged the head pediatric radiologist at Hopkins to give us a "hint" after the CT and she let us know unofficially it looked great or we'd have been basket cases waiting that long to hear if he needed the surgery.

Still no cruise documents, but our TA wrote Thursday saying they were in and she'd be sending them.

Last week Keegan had Cal Ripken baseball camp in Aberdeen, MD. This required getting up every day at 5:45 to drive him to Towson, MD (1 hour 20 minutes away) to catch a bus to Aberdeen. The camp was until 4:00 and since Keegan didn't get home each night until 6:15, he skipped football practice. I took Brennan to football every night and his pokemon league too. I was very busy at work and still have a few spreadsheets left to do tomorrow before I'm all caught up. Friday was family day at the baseball camp, so we all drove straight to Aberdeen and watched Keegan's team beat another team about 35 to 3. It was very boring, but he had a lot of fun. We got to see all the 12U teams that had traveled world wide to begin their Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth World Series that night. They were really, really good.

I think I wrote that Keegan had a friend over all last weekend. It is his good friend from baseball, Scotty, whose dad is their head coach of the regular spring season and their all star travel team coach. Scotty's older brother, Kevin, has been very sick with complications from Chron's disease and had just had a stomach feeding tube inserted since the nasal tube he had didn't help him gain weight. He's 13 and barely 50 pounds. Scotty's dad called us Sunday asking us to bring Scotty to their house straight away because they were rushing Kevin back to Hershey Hospital. Kevin looked absolutely awful and was in serious pain. Needless to say, Kevin nearly died in the waiting room (the doctors said he'd have died that night had they not taken him in) and had to have emergency surgery for what was a massive infection and a small intestine blockage. He's been in the ICU since last Sunday and will be there for a long time. He's lost even more weight and is so weak he can't walk and can barely talk. He had to have a port installed for direct vein nurishment and had a colostomy bag installed too. I feel so badly for his entire family. Kevin's dad used all his vacation time up for the baseball tournaments so he has to work every night (midnight shift) and takes turns with his wife being with Kevin 24/7. Our baseball team has been trying to raise funds for them since they are traveling 4 hours a day back and forth to the hospital. I managed to collect almost $500 and others did the same. We're trying to set up a big fundraiser dinner for them too.

On top of that, my SIL (the one who flipped her car mulitple times in the winter) had to be rushed via amublance to the hospital Sunday with a ruptured stomach ulcer, requiring immediate surgery. She's doing much better, but has to have another surgery once she becomes more stable--- And if that wasn't enough friends/family surgery for the week, my best friend had elective "reduction" surgery on Friday.

I'm really looking forward to vacation!!!! I still haven't started packing or even figured out what I'm going to wear. We'll be gone for 12 days, so we may end up doing some laundry some where along the trip.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Hi Debi, it's great to hear from you.

We went to see the X-Files last night, and we are huge X-Files fans too, but the movie was a bit disappointing. We prefer the spooky/alien side of it, so this film wasn't half as good as the first one

You will have to let me know what you want to do about the other FE group, do you just want everyone's room numbers or family details ? or would it be easier if people PM'd you if they want to take part in a proper family exchange ?

Wow, 130 people, that's not so bad if you are only leaving one or 2 little trinkets each, but it must still work out quite expensive

Oh Yeah! When and where is the meet? Thanks

I think we said to have our meet at the Goofy Pool around 2.30/3pm until we have to get ready for the lifeboat drill. If it's raining (which it won't be ;) ) then it will be the same time at the Promenade Lounge

Hey Danielle, it's great to hear from you. As usual, it sounds like you've been really busy

:yay: That's great news to finally hear from your doctor (even though you already knew the results), now you can go on your vacation without the worry hanging over you

So sorry to hear about Scotty's brother, it must be an awful worry for them. I hope he's making some progress and getting better. :wizard: Good Luck with your fundraising

I hope you are able to get your documents soon :thumbsup2

I managed to get quite a lot of packing and washing done today, I can't wait for it all to be finished - well it will have to be finished on Friday :thumbsup2

Have a great day everyone :)

enjoy your last few weeks as a single girl

Hi

Glad to hear keegan's okay. That must be a relief. I hate it when kids are sick.

There here, There here, There here. My cruise documents. I got a message from my TA that she has them and I will pick them up Monday. DH wasn't too impressed. He wondered why "that cruise outfit" waited until the last minute to send them. Cruise outfit - does he even know what cruise line we are on!!! Men!!

We leave the night of the 15th and I can hardly wait. I'm going to be completely useless at work this week. I hope nothing major happens as all SR. management are out of the office this week and since I'm next in line I will have to deal with any finance problems. (We have approx 65 employees and they all better behave next week!!!)

My this time next week will be arriving at 6:30am and the first thing DD wants to do is golf and chase lizards.

Well enough of my babbling (when I'm excited I babble - sorry)

Take care guys and I will probably be on here all week.

Just a quick post to say hello to everyone. I'm so sorry I haven't been around. Work is insane plus I'm trying to get ready to leave for vacation. There are never enough hours in the day. Here is a pic of my FE. Still working on the dowels so they are not quite done. They are both 2-sided. They kind of look like a little kid made them, but then I am a kid at heart. Hope everyone is enjoying their cruise countdown:banana:

Hi Sandra, glad your tickets have arrived. I'm sure your week will fly by if you're busy at work. We leave Friday night too, though we're staying at Manchester Airport that night, before we fly off to Orlando on Saturday morning

Golfing and chasing lizards sounds like a fun start to your holiday

Have a good week

See everyone in two weeks!

Deb, Is it you who is celebrating a birthday on the cruise? I remember someone is having a birthday, just not who.

Danielle, It is nice of you to help out that family, I'm sure that they appreciate any and all help at a time like this. It makes to stop and hug your kids just a little tighter and not fuss over the spilled milk as you are glad your child is healthy enough to drink milk ...and spill it in the process.

I spent Saturday at a golf outing for Cancer. We raised over $20,000!

Today I finished my fish extender except for the top part. I think the presents are finished.

Melissa - Cool FE!
