nepatsfan73-- Don't you have to pick the race packet the day before the race? I'm just questioning this as I hate for you to be all prepared to do this and then find out you are unable to race because you don't have the race packet which would have your bib number and chip

I don't think the 6.5K is chip timed and Kim (Hockeychic) previously offered to pick-up my packet if necessary. (Although the more she learns about me, the less inclined she might be out of fear of being associated in anyway with me.)

Renee, congrats to you and the family for registering. Hummm everyone is staying at POP, maybe I should change my ressies I love POP but I heard there was a large BMX group in and was trying to avoid that.

I did a quick count and it looks like more than 91 WISHers - that includes the extra people doing the race with the WISH team member. Gonna be exciting!!!

I compared my AAA rate at All Star Music to the group rate Disney was offering at Pop and it turns out the group rate is a better deal (and I need to save every dime I can! )

So, if you get a chance, can you update the main list to show I'm staying with the WISH crowd at Pop rather than ASMu?

I am at Pop for now for the same reason. Hoping even cheaper AP codes will come out. If only I had nearly as many DVC points as ultramm.

Yes please, if someone could please give me any information regarding a group rate or cheaper rate at POP I would LOVE to do this. DH is adamant he wants to stay off site. I think it would be easier to stay on site, but if I can't find a REALLY good deal it may not happen.

Per Robert/ultramm's earlier post on this thread and the ToT 6.5K and 13K website, below are rates and the phone number to call at group sales:

Disney's Boardwalk Resort - $359 a night
Disney's Carribbean Beach Resort - $112 a night
Disney's Pop Century Resort - $79 a night
To reserve a room, please call (407) 938-4868.

When I called, I just told them I was calling about the ToT group rate and reserved at Pop. With tax, I believe it comes out to $88.XX per night. I think people needing park tickets can also obtain them through group sales, but I am not sure of the price or how it compares to other authorized Disney resellers (I don't need the tix as I bought an annual pass for my family vacation as I received a DVC discount, wanted to get the dining experience discount card and figured I'd be back for marathon weekend and hopefully the ToT).

dd16 and I are officially booked at Pop fri-mon. The idea of the BMX group scares me a little. I hope it isn't loud/obnoxious group. However if dd hears they will be staying there, she would be mad if I switched hotels!

I'm hoping the same thing! I've been at Pop twice during Pop Warner and didn't have a problem either time, so I am keeping my fingers crossed!!

Oh ya - a Pop hint.......I've always faxed in a room request for a lake view and have gotten it every time. I've been in room 3313 twice. Only place I know of in WDW where you can get a water view for the standard price! I will be requesting the same area again for ToT.

I don't know for sure, but I think the BMX group should probably be scared of the WISH/YARC glowing green group.

As I posted above, I'm at (I think) $88.XX per night at Pop with tax, $79.00 before tax. I obtained that rate by calling the group sales number I re-posted in my PP.

I am going to call this morning & book us at Pop. We are arriving the Monday prior to the race and staying thru the following Monday. There is a really great deal at the Comfort Inn just outside DTD for $39/night. Nothing fancy, but an ok place to stay that's close. But if I stay there, I am going to feel awfully left out of the group with tons of WISHers at Pop!

I am also not sure if you can leave your kiddo(s) at the Disney kids clubs if you are not a WDW resort guest. And we need that to be able to do ToT. Kind of bummin' though since you have to p/u your kid by midnight. I wanted to hang out at MGM until 1am with you guys!

Then once this is settled, I am off to try to find a fridge swap with some availability left that week!

Update - got my ressie at Pop - $88.88 per night incl. tax. I also have a PM to get in on a fridge swap. Woo Hoo!
