2007 Itinerary Survey from DCL

A trip from Southampton would be excellent! Most cruises from here rae adult or oriented & in many cases no children! I have no doubt that if the price were right, many British holiday makers would jump at the chance, but I can't see how they would book it. Unless you use a TA over here (who typically double the DCL rates), we'll be paying the same price as you & I'm not sure we could fork out what would equate to £4000 for 10 days when we can fly to Florida, stay onsite with all our passes for 14 nights & still have change! I guess I'll have to start playing the lottery & hope for a big win at the same time Disney announce their intentions!

I would sign up for any of the proposed cruises - Baltic, Med or Alaskan. Bring it on... Does anyone know when the itineries will be promilgated?

As excited as people sound about an Alaskan and Med. cruise DCL will remember there was the same excitement about the repo cruises. People booked asap when the booking started. The same people started canceling when reality hit--the repo cruises are(were) during school times and they were long. Some people realized they could not stand being on a ship that long. People started posts about the choices of ports etc., and I remembering posting that repo cruises are not about the ports but moving the ship from point A to point B and hoping to get guests on board to help offset the cost of moving the ship.

Alsakan cruises are cold compared to the Caribbean. Several lines already have ships that provide for a comfortable Alaskan cruise experience. The two current DCL ships would be cold.

The Med. cruises will be costly. I would be questioning if they could fill the ships. DCL knows they can fill ships on their current eastern and western routes. The cruise also is easily linked to WDW which means even more chances of Disney to make money off their loyal fans.

I filled out the same survey a couple years ago. The only place they asked about that made sense was moving the ship over to CA and have the cruises they are offering now. The link to a Disney theme park is still there if the loyals want a Disney themepark experience to add onto their cruise experience.

As far as other lines, Celebrity is just as nice as Disney and it is in the same price range. Remember Disney was designed for families. The perfect match for Disney is to keep the home ports close by to their themeparks.

If Disney did move the ship a lot of people who have had plans to book in the summer of '07 would be changed. I do remembering the rumblings of people who had planned to go on an eastern or western only to have to choose CA and it was not a choice they opted for. The CA cruises cost more than the ones out of FLorida.

I would take this survey for what it is--a survey. One thing to keep in mind, I know people cruise to Alaska but they do it once. I have not heard of repeat visiters on Alaskan cruises like what DCL sees in the eastern and western routes. Maybe the repeaters are out there for Alaskan cruises but the message I am getting from my TA is it just not there.

It is fun to watch the posts about what ports Disney should go to. The option I would love to see is a southern Caribbean out of San Juan. Would it happen? probably not, it is expensive to fly to San Juan and there would be no theme park tie in. I can always dream for one just as others can dream for a DCL cruise to Alaska and the Med. Who knows, DCL just might surprise us in there annoucements for the '07 ports.

10-Night Baltic Cruise out of Southampton

Ports

Bit of a reality check from my part is in order! Unfortunately I suppose any baltic or Med trip would rely heavily on demand from Brits/Mainland Europe to make it cost-effective. I wonder if the demand for such has been assessed? I would have thought a relocation from Port Canaveral, maybe via New York, to Southampton would have attracted enough people to pay for the relocation (?). Maybe then demand, linked to a Disneyland Paris theme would attract people?

We can but hope....

We cruise many of the lines, liking each for its own individual character. Today from Princess we received a mailing for a most interesting cruise,,,,,,Seattle to Alaska via the inside passage and then on over the Pacific, ending in Japan. Now wouldn't that make a nice tie in with Tokyo Disney?

I was on the June 4th west coast cruise. Last Monday(I think), we had our CC party on board. Capt. Tom walked in and said that DCL had 'big plans for 2007'. You could have heard a pin drop in Rockin' Bar D. He then said that he couldn't tell us anything yet. He then polled us. He asked us to choose between Alaska and Med. Med. won. The Magic was frigid last week on Saturday, Sunday and Friday. This is not just a 'southern' girl's opinion either. Even the crew members were wearing jackets/sweaters. The only sea day that was warm was Monday. Unless there is a 3rd ship already being built, an Alaska cruise on the Magic or Wonder would be miserable!! Capt. Tom did ask us how we would rate the weather on this cruise. There was a big 'ehhh, ok' heard throughout. No one was yelling great, or wonderful, or clapping like usual. I would like to see a 10 day southern carribean cruise offered. I know they have the Christmas cruise, but I can't cruise then and leave my extended family. I would like to see that cruise become a bi-monthly choice. I would also love to see Europe but the airfare would be so expensive!

If I had unlimited funds, the Med cruise would be wonderful, but Southern Caribean works for me---The airfare to Europe and extra time may be a problem for some. I can't wait to hear the announcement.

A girl can dream... can't she! :earsgirl:

Okay, sign me up for any of them other than the Mexican Cruise. I'm ready to book now

Robin

I agree with Robin- we went on the May Repo cruise and while I would LOVE to go on another repo cruise- I could care less about going to the ports in Mexico again. I would fly to Mexico and stay- but I wouldn't cruise with the intentions of going there.

I would love to do the repo cruises going from the US to Europe- I wonder how much that would cost?
