Okay, Here I go. My first journal on WISH.

2007 is going to be a big year for me. A lot of events that I would like to look good for.

January- Trip to Palm Beach with DH :cutie:
April- A friends wedding:bride: and also run/walking a Half Marathon:scared:
May- Disney:cool1:
June- Another wedding:bride:

So to force myself to get in shape. I signed up for a Half Marathon training team... I am not a runner and never thought I wanted to be. I am just hoping I don't die.... I signed up with 3 other girlfriend... none of us runners, this is all new to us.

A little background on me...

I am the mother of three girls (see siggie), I am 37, and would love to lose 10-15 lbs...

I have had huge sucess with WW... but I can't get rid of all the weight. And everytime I get close I slowly lose motivation. (Dr. Phil and Oprah would have a field day with that comment)

I am hoping that eating right and training for the marathon will get me in shape... and I am also hoping I can keep the training up.

Any comments welcome.....:flower3:

Any runners/walkers out there? Any one that needs a WISH buddy? Any one that wants to eat right? Any one that needs motivation?

Welcome Lisa!

Welcome to WISH journals! This is a great place to get support and encouragement. You have a lot of fun events planned for 2007. :)

There are several people here on the WISH journals and on the WISH boards that are preparing for marathons and half marathons. I'm sure they will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. :)

Again, welcome to WISH! We are cheering you on to VICTORY! :)

~Tracy

P.S. If you don't mind me asking.... How did you get the smilies to work? I haven't been able to get them to work (except the smilie face) since they upgraded the boards. Thanks!

Okay, I didn't journal yesterday... I am just not in the habit yet:upsidedow

Well I did get on the treadmill yesterday, walked a mile and half and did some crunches but didn't do that great in the eating department, darn ol' leftover sweets from Christmas. And we are having a NYE party so I am still baking.

As far as today... I already ran a mile and half on the treadmill and eating better... I am going to do my pilates arm circles DVD later.

My downfall is going to be eating... I could eat all day. I am a snacker...

I am starting my marathon training program with a group of friends and a trainer on January 21st(the thought still scares me:scared1: ) so I am just trying to get in better shape before then... I am in training for training:rotfl:

Tracy- thank you for the welcome and as far as the smilies go my just worked... so I can't help you out, hopefully yours are working now.

I am off to the showers...

Hi Lisa, I'm Lindsay :) I could use a WISH buddy. PM me if you are still willing.

Hi Lindsay, I would love a buddy... I will PM you later.

Okay today, is "get back on track" day... exercise, eat right, take care of ME...

I am cleaning out my pantry, getting rid of junk. I am going to put the rest of the Christmas stuff away. DH was like a robot putting most of it away yesterday.

I hope everyone had a great holiday season. I did but I am so glad they are over... the foodpopcorn:: , the spending:upsidedow , the late hours:hourglass , the drinking:sick:

:flower3: 2007 WOW !!!

Hi Lisa! Welcome to WISH journals!

How awesome that you're training for a 1/2 marathon! I am hoping to get to the WDW 1/2 in 2008. I also was not a runner, but in January of 2006 I started a run/walk program and now run on a regular basis! I've never gone longer than 5 miles at a time, but even running one mile was unheard of for me!

Good luck in reaching your goals! Keep on journaling and we'll be here to cheer you on! :cheer2:

Happy, Healthy New Year, Lisa!

I did my first 1/2 in October and it was a GREAT experience!

Welcome to WISH and have fun training!

Okay, Okay... where is my motivation.:confused3

I haven't exercised in a few days. And I really need to. I do so much better during the day if I start the day with some sort of exercise... Well tomorrow is tennis so that is an hour right there.

I have signed up for the weight loss challenge and the exercise challange ( a little behing on both)

Have a great day.:goodvibes

Hi Lisa!

Welcome to the WISH board, like you I just started a WISH journal, as I am planning on running in the 2008 full WDW marathon.

I know the feeling about motivation, some days are harder than others. For me today it was the beautiful weather here in NJ that got me motivated, it was 60 degrees here today. Didn't take much to get me out to run.

All I keep thinking is how great it is going to be and how many people I will prove wrong when i complete this marathon and that is usually enough motivation for me!

Good Luck with your training!

Laurie

Laurie, it is funny to read your post... it is raining here... that may be part of it.

I do agree with your comment about the marathon, my mom almost changes the subject everytime I bring it up... almost as if she would be wasting her time talking about it.:rotfl:

Hey Lisa! How great is it gonna be when you (and Laurie too) prove all those nay-sayers wrong? :goodvibes

Have fun with tennis tomorrow! Are you taking lessons?

It is so funny, I was just printing the registration form off, I want to fill it out and send it in before I lose my nerve.:thumbsup2

I take lessons once a week, I am trying to get a group to maybe do it another day too...

BTW: Kim I love that quote.

Lisa--I agree, I want to register this week so i don't lose the nerve either. Several people have told me to register now so I can use that as motivation! So, I say do it--registration opens monday!!!

I figure between these boards and having registered that should keep me motivated for awhile!

Good Luck!

Okay, I found a little motivation... I love tennis and my behind is feeling it a little today. That is a good thing.

I did better with eating and the scale showed.

I need to do better with the fluids, didn't I say that already:rotfl2:

MY WEEKEND GOAL... drink water, decaf tea (maybe a little green tea) I need more fluids that are good for me. Especially with the run/walking.

I watched a great program on TLC last night about losing weight I want to check out the website and see if I can find it. They gave 20 tips and they seemed do-able.

:cheer2:

I haven't posted in awhile but I have been doing good... down a few pounds and I have stuck to my training schedule...

The training is hard while I am doing it but after it... I think that wasn't too bad.

I can feel better mentally, not as crabby and a little more patience. DH likes that;)

The eating and drinking is still the hardest... skip the bad snacks and drink more fluids that are good for me is my goal now.

I am off for now....:)

Hey Lisa! Sounds like you're doing great! What kind of training are you doing right now? I just bought the Marathoning for Mortals book to read up on the 1/2 marathon training.

Keep up the GREAT work!! :thumbsup2

How funny I just got Marathoning for Mortals :thumbsup2 and the runners journal... can't remember who wrote that.

I am following Hal Higdon's 12 week 1/2 marathon training it is on his website. There is 4 of us that are training together... so funny 4 slightly overweight, middles ages Moms thinking they are runners :lmao:

Hi Lisa,

Hope your training is going well!! I need to order the Marathon for Mortals bood, everyone on these boards reccommends it, so I think I will have to get it!!

Laurie

Hi Guys,
I have been a little MIA... my youngest DD turned 5 this week so between the family party and friend party it has taken up alot of my time.

Training had been going good. There has been a couple of days that I couldn't get the mileage that I wanted because of time... I need to rethink my schedule with my training schedule and change it a bit so it doesn't feel like training is an after thought.

I have also been getting ready... DH and I leave for Palm Beach on Sunday ( not tomorrow but next week) Sounds great when we are supposed to get 6 inches of snow tonight... I am so sick of winter and it is only January...

Have a great weekend
