It was originally reported that this would be available in August. Publisher now says September. Does anyone have any idea (Len??) when this will be available? We're planning a trip for the end of October and I'd like ASAP for planning. TIA.

I was thinking that it should be any time now too....Hang in there! I know that I have been using the 2005 edition as my "reference". But it might not include alot of 50th celebration stuff. But I'll bet besides that it should be similiar? I don't think they have added too many new rides since then?

I hope it will come out for you soon! I hate waiting on things I need..lol :teeth:

It is showing it as available when I go to amazon.com. The Birnbaum 2006 won't be out for a month. Try ordering it from amazon! Good luck and if you do order it, let me know if it is good!!

I'm only an occasional Amazon user (and I live in Seattle...you think I'd know better!!). I was a little suspicious that it was available from Amazon as the publisher still isn't listing as published. But buried in the publication details is a specific publication date of September 12th. Since I'm going to want it rush, rush, I would rather get it from my local, independent bookstore then pay a gazillion dollars for expedited shipping from Amazon. But thanks for the suggestion...at least I know when to start bugging my local travel bookstore.

90% of the 2006 version will be what the 2005 version has. They change very little in the unoffical gude from year to year. You can get more better updates via here then you can purchasing a new guidebook, that is already several month out of date before it even hits the shelves.

I agree that 90% will be the same, but I don't own the 2005 and don't want to purchase it if the 2006 will be available soon (esp. since I doubt the 2005 will contain information about 50th anniversary attractions and activities). And yes, I know the boards will have more current information, but I'd rather get a book and take notes in that rather than having to make several dozen printouts of things of interest. Plus getting the latest UG is one of my personal rituals before going to WDW or DL (as we don't get to go that frequently).
