Oh cool another resort to choose from! What kind of activities do you provide to keep the kids entertained??? Hey you could open a resort with a petting zoo :lmao:

Well let's see----we like to play this game called Find Fluffy! :lmao: It's kind of like Where's Waldo only if you find him, you could lose a limb! And the entertainment department is run by Emma and Julia---they'll keep anyone entertained!!

Mary, those pics are awesome, I love that the castle lights are in the background!

Gail - I love your Mickey - I have the snow globe in front of my house this year - and I won't be taking any pictures any time soon since this weather is way too cold for me.

Mary - beautiful and touching photos all around!!!

Hope you guys and your snow are hainging in there!

I am pleased to announce that Matt and I became "Uncle Matt and Aunt Julie" again yesterday with the birth of my sister's little boy - Kingston Thomas - named after both grandfathers. He's adorable, she's doing well and hopefully they go home tomorrow.

Vital stats:
8 lbs 12 oz
22 inches long

:)

:earsboy:CONGRATULATIONS:earsboy:
AUNT JULIE

Oh my gosh.... where the heck have I been..... LOST!!!!!

Mary - great to hear you had a great vacation with your family and a wedding proposal to boot! Looks like Christopher had a great time. I hope you are feeling better - The freezing weather does not help.

Julie - I am glad to hear that Chip is doing well. I am sure you guys were a mess while he was going thru the procedure. Congrats on the new nephew.

Cindy - I love those crocs... I want some too... I have a coupon for 10.00 off - I see new crocs in my future. How did Camerons campout go? brrrrrrrr.

Gail - I love the Mickey in the yard. I bought one last year but was not paying attention to the details - indoor use and 4 feet high. but it is a Mickey.

Diana - I hope you are handling the cold weather ok. You did not get rid of those Uggs did ya?

Amy - the new picture of the girls is adorable.

Stacy - CONGRATS on the new house.

Nick is busy with basketball, boy scouts and indoor soccer starts soon. We are going to Memphis for Christmas this year. Nick has a whopping week off of school. 12/24 - 1/1 back on the second.... what kind of break is that!

I was in Chicago for a day earlier this month for a Home owners outreach day (mortgage industry trying to help) then the snow storm came and they decided to close it up early. I was in Cicero. lovely neighborhood.
We were the only ones from out of town there and they got mad at us for not commiting to coming back to Chicago on that Saturday for a spur of the moment event they decided to have because Rev. Jesse Jackson was going to be in the area for an ACTION event there. Uhh.. nice notice and we have plans, and we are not in sales/origination so I cant answer one dam question about refinancing........

OK well - I gotta hit the bed. Hope everyones week goes well.

What a wonderful Christmas Present! Congratulations Unlce Matt and Aunt Julie :woohoo:

Busy trying to pack and get ready to fly out tomorrow night for our DCL Christmas cruise :santa: We are so excited! I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and enjoy spending time with your families!

Cicero...It used to an all Italian neighborhood! Its where my mother grew up, my grandmother still lives there, she doesnt want to leave the house her children grew up in, and with my grandfather gone, she said it keeps the memories...We worry about her safety everyday!!!! She says, Oh I'm fine, all the neighbors watch out for me!!! I'm worried one day she will walk down the wrong street and see the wrong thing or get mugged! Oh Well, enough venting, I just worry about her daily! Its not anywhere I'd want to be for an extended length of time!

What a great way to spend Christmas - have a great cruise Roxann and have a Merry Christmas!

I have reprinted this each Christmas Season I have been here at the Disboards. Darn near have it momorized. It is a hundred and ten years old and still the BEST response I have ever read.

Eight-year-old Virginia O'Hanlon wrote a letter to the editor of New York's Sun, and the quick response was printed as an unsigned editorial Sept. 21, 1897. The work of veteran newsman Francis Pharcellus Church has since become history's most reprinted newspaper editorial, appearing in part or whole in dozens of languages in books, movies, and other editorials, and on posters and stamps.

"DEAR EDITOR: I am 8 years old.
"Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus.
"Papa says, 'If you see it in THE SUN it's so.'
"Please tell me the truth; is there a Santa Claus?

"VIRGINIA O'HANLON.
"115 WEST NINETY-FIFTH STREET."

VIRGINIA, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the skepticism of a skeptical age. They do not believe except what they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds. All minds, Virginia, whether they be men's or children's, are little. In this great universe of ours man is a mere insect, an ant, in his intellect, as compared with the boundless world about him, as measured by the intelligence capable of grasping the whole of truth and knowledge.

Yes, VIRGINIA, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus. It would be as dreary as if there were no VIRGINIAS. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The eternal light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.

Not believe in Santa Claus! You might as well not believe in fairies! You might get your papa to hire men to watch in all the chimneys on Christmas Eve to catch Santa Claus, but even if they did not see Santa Claus coming down, what would that prove? Nobody sees Santa Claus, but that is no sign that there is no Santa Claus. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see. Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that's no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world.

You may tear apart the baby's rattle and see what makes the noise inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongest man, nor even the united strength of all the strongest men that ever lived, could tear apart. Only faith, fancy, poetry, love, romance, can push aside that curtain and view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond. Is it all real? Ah, VIRGINIA, in all this world there is nothing else real and abiding.

No Santa Claus! Thank God he lives, and he lives forever. A thousand years from now, Virginia, nay, ten times ten thousand years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.

THANK YOU Francis P. Church!

Thanks Steve, I love that. It always really gets me in the Christmas spirit.

Speaking of Christmas spirit, the girls and I went up to the DVC Member Mixer yesterday. We had a great time and they danced just about the entire time. All the characters were there in their holiday best and we each got an ornament that is just so cute.

They had a great spread with this gorgeous huge cookies and apple juice and water. They also had a little table set up saying "You haven't missed the boat" and you could book the 08 member cruise right there today. :lmao: What are they doing wrong there? The 03, 05, 06 cruises all sold out within the first day or so. This one still isn't sold out! :rotfl:

My only real 'complaint' was that they had this little bar set up with cans of beer and soda. Now I totally understand you have to pay for the bartender, so the cost of the beverages will be inflated, but it was a free member event, so you wouldn't think they'd gouge you---a 12oz can of Coke, the same can I get at Publix for $2.75 a 12pk was------$4.00. $4.00 for a can of coke is downright insulting. Mind you, I didn't want coke, I wasn't looking for coke, as the water and apple juice was fine for us, it was just an observation. I wasn't paying too close attention, but I didn't see one person drinking the beer or soda. Wonder why.

Steve...Thats a great story...When Krystina asks about Santa being real, I am going to give that to her to read, and tell her to make the decision!!! She's 11 and hasnt asked yet, so I havent voluntereed any info...I'm sure some kid in her school, or just another kid in general will break the news to her soon, but I'll be prepared!

Diana...$4 for a can of coke??? Are they insane??? For $4 you can get 2 12 pks here on sale! I wouldnt have bought it either! We are not huge soda people, but every once in a while! We actually keep water and juicy juice by the case in the house, because thats what everyone drinks! I noticed the last date for the Merry Mixer was the 27th, we fly in the morning of the 28th, so we miss it...Maybe next year!

We'll have to chat after you get back about getting together during the cruise. I have a feeling the girls are going to be in the club most of the time, so we'll be able to have a few drinks or something!

I have the same feeling...Krystina and Haylee kinda do their own things being they are older, but Lauren, when we pick her up at the club for dinner she cries! I think shes going to be with your girls! She just turned 4! They should have fun together! A few or more drinks sounds great to me! We will figure something out!

Steve - I love that - thanks for sharing it.

Happy Holidays to Everyone - and here's to a wonderful 2008!
