Ilene, I'm not sure if I missed this but did you take that 2nd job? I was just wondering. :scratchin

Chris

Kind of a long story that ends with me taking the second job as a per diem job for the time being. I'm keeping my current job (40hrs) at half the pay which may be a dumb move but it's a sure bet (I've been there 10yrs) instead of gambling on not being happy at the new place. The per diem option gives me a chance to sample it before committing. I start Nov 6th.
Even working the little bit extra will help alot.

Thanks for the welcome...I feel so weird with post number 1 under my belt! I guess I will check back in later tonight. It seems like you all post all hours of the day... which is great...but is there a specific time/night that everyone tries to shoot for to be on at the same time?

First off WELCOME

The time the board really goes nuts is during the week - all day pretty much. There is a core of people who either have access to a computer at work, work at home or are stay-at-homers. With the shortage of people at my workplace I have access every other day or so. Then of course things pick up after 6pm (whenever local) for when people who don't have access are home, fed and catching up on the sometimes 10 plus pages a day. Weekends can be slow, but then you should have been here the Saturday that the cruise booked. Talk about lighting FAST.. WOW what a day that was.

So Welcome again, don't be shy. Only Diana bites, but not hard enough to break the skin, and of course as SHE will gladly tell you I cheat when it comes to voting. I swear you screw up once and you neverl live it down.

Pool works for me! :)

Diana - wow, I am glad your health department took that seriously and followed up. How scary is that manager?

Ok and welcome bag update - second shipment of 50 bags.... and they don't have zippers either - DOH! We've called the company and they are on the phone with the warehouse trying to figure out what the problem is.
Ok, so it sounds like the pool is the location for Julie's bachelorette party.

And, I'm SO sorry to hear that they've messed up again on your welcome bags, Julie!! I sure hope they get it straightened out quickly!!!

Member Gallery Update!

We have a number of updates today.

Tigger26 - come meet Janet and her family (DH Jim, DS Dan and DS Matthew).

SueC1216 - welcome to Sue and DH Jon

Yensidfan - Faith sailed with us on SSMC05. It will be her, DH Pete, and DS Peter.

Sandy (Gometros) also sent in a new picture of he and Judy. Looking good Sandy!
Ok, since there are a few more people added into the group, as we draw closer to the sailaway of SSMC06, I want to say a little thing about the kids list.

I have ordered our "gift" for the kiddies and they should be arriving this week sometime. I know that Diana & Stacy will be working on the personalization soon, so we are going to have to make a cutoff soon. Diana & Stacy can probably give a better date on that. We do have a few extras, just in case there are some late additions, since we don't want to leave any children out of the group.

So, if you're new, please send me a PM with your child's age & name, so we can add them to the list. I will be posting an updated list later today.

Hey everyone, I'm Stitch's friend who's going on this our first member cruise. Just want everyone to know that I am so not technically inclined and finally have just taken the plunge, all the stars have lined up, remembered our password and yes it looks like i have learned how to post something. Reading through all the postings has been great. I can't wait to meet you all on board. I do have a lot of questions that i hope to be fielding on this sight. One question i'd like help with is that we are looking at float, snorkel and bike rental for the island and i'm just wondering if you all think that's a good idea to sign up for? I mean yes it looks like the kids have their own activities but I would hope My husband and I can tear them away for some family time. OK here goes ...I'm submitting my first post. Hope it gets there!

Welcome aboard! You picked the perfect day to join because today is the last day to sign up for buttons and the DIS navigator. Click on the member logo in my signature and that will take you to the website we have for the group. We need to hear from you (and anyone else who is interested) today.

Hi there everyone.... I have been Missing in Action to this thread for a while and I feel so lost... :guilty: I have been on all the Disney Wedding Websites working on getting ready for my January WDW wedding and I lost site of the fact that the DVC cruise was this soon. Planning goes into full swing about 4 monthes out so between a planning session at WDW and revising first Budget drafts, I have been a bit lost in that world. I wanted to pop in and say Hi to everyone and that I can't wait to get the cruise started in 3 weeks. I relized the other day that we have not gotten our Docs yet, but I guess that we can expect them anyday. We are already planning our next cruise after that and it will be a 3 day on Jan. 18, 2007 as part of our Honeymoon... Disneymoon I should say since it is 2 days at AKL and then off to get on the Wonder.... I have soooo much to look forward to in the next few monthes... But I won't say all this doesn't come with it's stresses. Weddings bring Family drama is all that I have heard and boy has that been true for this wedding... OH well comes with it all I guess.... But once again Hello and I can't wait to meet you all on my first members cruise.... :woohoo:
:wave2: Good to see you around here again. Looking forward to meeting you in just a few weeks!

So glad you finally made it here. It's going to be so much fun on the ship. We're all looking forward to meeting you in just 21 short days!!!

It's a nice sunny day here. I've got all clothes washed this weekend, I think--the laundry seems to exponentially increase when I'm not looking. We went to our neighbor's house last night for the annual clambake. Fun was had by all! I'm going to stroll soon (9 miles today). I hesitated to check in on the 6:30 a.m. deck stroll. I'll probably be there for the a.m. deck walk, but if I get a chance to add a few extra Zzzs I'm thinking I will take it.

Thanx for the welcome Copper3 and everyone else!

Honestly I have been avoiding this thread because the 18K+ posts is kinda daunting. Sooooo...I just drew a line in the sand (my first post date here) and am going from there. Trying to keep up is a full time job. At least it pays back in ear-to-ear smiles!

:tigger:
Don't avoid, jump right in!!! It's always fun around here!!!

Did anyone else receive a survey from Jim Lewis? It's to participate in the 2006 Annual Condo Association survey. Asks for our opinion on topics such as member satisfaction, exchange options and member benefits. I think I'll respond to it tomorrow.
Nope, nothing around here!!!

Ok, let me preface this by saying that you guys could have already come up with something, but what about 6 or 6:30pm, since a lot of us are eating at LTT around 4:30pm and the actual party doesn't start until 7pm. Then, we can meet, talk and be ready for the party at 7pm.

Based on the party starting at 7pm, 6:30pm seems to make sense to me. 6:00pm may be cutting it too close for the folks eating at LTT. What do you all think?

Anyone have anything else they want to add in?
Mary - can you also add that I will have the kids gifts at both the DISmeet at the pre-cruise meet at the Beach Club Solarium and at the DISmeet onboard at 3pm on Sunday. If you don't get your gift at those 2 times, DISers can stop by my cabin #5024 and either knock, or put a note in my fish extender with your cabin # and I will try to get it to you.

Trust me parents, this is a gift that you want to get early in the cruise. But, I also don't want to tote these around all cruise because they are somewhat bulky and can get ruined with a lot of handling.

Navigator updates:

I'm going to change the Magic Kingdom meet to 6:30 at the Liberty Bell

Amy - I'll add in about the kids gifts being available at both the Saturday meet and the Sunday meet or to contact your cabin.

I'm putting the guys down for 9:30 in Diversions on Tuesday night unless I hear differently.

Anyone else have anything they want to add?

So would I get mother of the year if I give my family Julia's birthday cake for breakfast? Emma suggested it and Bruce was all to happy to chime in. Now they are all saying Cake Cake Cake. I don't think I'll win this battle, and it is a special day, plus cake has some nutritional value. :scratchin

Anyone ever see that Bill Cosby routine--Dad is great, he gives us chocolate cake. :rotfl: That's my DH. :sad2:
Ooohhh, cake for breakfast for your birthday sounds like fun to me!!!!
