That's a saying that you don't hear very often today....I bet you say that to kids today and they'll have no clue what you are talking about! :lmao:

OK--so let's do process of elimination---

Sunday night we'll all be on sensory overload from just getting on the ship and will probably all be asleep by 8:30.

Monday night--wasn't this Pirate night?

Wednesday night--SSMC05 cruisers will remember the mad dash to try to get all those gifts into our suitcases and out in the hall. A little chaotic to say the least.

So how about Tuesday night? After a Day at Sea we should all be nice and relaxed and ready to party!! party:

I picked the day, someone else pick the time and place. The late show starts at 8:15 and is what like an hour and a half?
Tuesday sounds GREAT to me, and since I still have a LOT of pages left, I'm sure that you guys have picked a place all ready. So, just count me in!!!!

When we go into the resale shop, Walker is always wanting to buy some albums. He thinks they look really neat. What he doesn't know is that Gary probably still has a box of them out in the garage and could play them on the record player which is in the family room.
We have 2 shelves full of them in the family room. Chris has his and all of his mom's records and he can't seem to part with them. I don't care, if he would at least box them all up, so I can use that room for other things (like toys).

We've never done the paper chain. We just make a special countdown calendar and count the 'sleeps' left.

As soon as I told the girls about the trip, my older DD made a countdown calendar for the fridge!
I think that we're going to do a paper chain today for Emily and Madison (more for Emily, since she remembers the "fun of the Mickey boat" more than Madison does.

Is there anything scary at the party for a 2 year old.
My 2yr old loves it, so I'm sure that yours will be ok. Madison did show a little dislike and avoidance of Capt Hook on this past visit, but I think it's because she's been watching the Peter Pan movie a lot lately (she LOVES Tinkerbell), so I think that she knows that Capt Hook isn't very nice.

Just Curt! :lmao:

Sorry, I don't really know the answer. I'm going to assume that because it's called a Not So Scary Party there isn't. But I guess it depends on what the 2 year old thinks is scary. My girls are 3 and 2 and they think "spooky" is funny--like ghosts, pumpkins, Disney Style Haunted Mansion stuff. Now I've never showed them Gorry stuff but that would probably frighten them (and get me a ticket to jail)

I take it you're bringing a 2 year old? I just got my girls this new DVD. It would be a good test to see how he or she reacts to stuff like that. My girls love it. They love all those Sing Along Movies, but it's helping them get prepared for the Party!

That looks cute, Diana!! Where did you get it?? Or, maybe you already answered that for someone else and I'll read about it soon. ;)

I saw Amy and Chris and their girls and Amy's Mom at Saratoga Springs this afternoon. They were fine, I think they took off from Tampa before the problems on I4 started. They seemed to be ready to have a great time!
Yes, we did meet Connie at SSR on Thursday morning!!! She's a sweet lady and can't wait to see you again in just 3 short weeks!!!

I need to ask this question again... with so many posts I know how easy it is to have a question be missed....

THe gift cards ya'll get for the CMs from walmart and such.... do you put like 5 bucks on each or what?

Thanks

Erin, I think last year I bought increments of $10. I figured since they were Walmart, I could always use whatever remained.

When we were in the clubs with Walker, I let him decide which CM's to acknowledge. I didn't ask why he chose one over another, I just asked which ones were special to him. He definately knew who to pick out of the crowd.

I still wonder whether tips are truly included with this cruise. Someone remind me where we heard that, please. :listen: I don't want to be caught off guard if they are not -- it's just the doubting Thomas in me needs a confirmation (yet again).

I wondered last cruise if the CM's came out ahead or not being that tips were definately included. DCL did inform us the night before we departed of what $$'s were tipped to each CM. And, then from there, we made the decision as to what to tip over and above that amount.

Last year one of the DISers did a class that included a 2 page spread and a scrapbook exchange. She hasn't been posting on the thread so I'm not sure if she is planning anything or not this year.
I liked having the scrapbook class onboard, but the problem is that there is SO much DVC stuff going on, that I was late because I didn't want to miss the other event (I think it was Ducky).

Thanks Cindy.. how many do you buy?

When I booked the CM told me tips were included when I asked! I am hoping this is true as well.

Wow - it won't be long before we all get to party on the ship!!! :cheer2:

Amy - thanks for the hints on catching that gecko in my yard - still don't know where he came from - it's 1123 miles from my driveway to OKW! So I know he didn't follow me that far?
It's gotten mighty cold out and I'm worried that if I don't see him in the next day or so, he will become part of the new patio I'm supposed to get poured out behind the house.

Welcome to all the newcomers who will be part of this great cruise in a few weeks.

Congrats on any and all milestones achieved the last few days - I've been taking care of sickies around here - running to the kids' places with meds and trying not to breathe when I'm there.

Don't forget that tonite is DVC chat - we have lots to chat about!

Ok, let me preface this by saying that you guys could have already come up with something, but what about 6 or 6:30pm, since a lot of us are eating at LTT around 4:30pm and the actual party doesn't start until 7pm. Then, we can meet, talk and be ready for the party at 7pm.

gosh, Erin, I really don't remember.

I do know there were 2 CM's in the kids club that Walker chose to give a card to each.

There wasn't anyone in the lab that Cameron selected but we did send down a bunch of candy that I brought thinking we might go to a show and use it there.

We also gave a couple to our room steward, server and assistant server as well as the head server. I know that our room steward and serving team got at least 2 each --- so that was 6 there, 1 for the head server and the 2 that we gave to the club CM's.

I'm going to venture to guess that I brought $100 and I know that I didn't bring any home.

Ophelia. That was Ophelia that diverted us after SSMC05. I remember b/c we have a picture of the TV screen with the weather channel on! :)
That's right, Ophelia!! I forgot all about her!!! Those crazy bus rides back to WDW and PC.

This is probably 50-100% rumor, but a thread on the other DCL forum suggested an October 1st announcement about the next DVC resort to open. Along with the date, someone "in the know" paraphrased a member of the construction team who said this new DVC resort is a pirate-themed resort to be built on the former Discovery Island (the island in the middle of the lake behind the Contemporary). Lastly, the resort is supposed to be a luxury resort, with a very small number of rooms.
(Please don't quote me...I had just finished reading 60+ other posts, so I may have reached "brain freeze" stage by the time I saw the above post.)
If the announcement is made, we'll certainly have something to talk about during Sunday night's chat!
pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

I read someplace here that they were making announcements from NYC on October 14th.

I hope it is today!

Will check in later, as I still have to put up my floating shelves! I keep changing my mind as to where I want to display my Disney stuff! :confused3

If you couldn't get on last night it was the boards not you. Here is a message Alex put up on the CB:

Why the boards were down
Our host NTT/Verio lost power. Then the generators had problems..then the UPS's didn't work...

I, for one, am happy to see the boards back up!
Ooohh, I'm glad that I missed that. I would have been going crazy without my DIS!!!

When I was out in DL last month, I stopped and chatted with lots of the DVC desks about numerous rumors and I even stopped by the building they have behind the DL hotel where they house the DVC models. I was told that Jim Lewis was there and there were some big meetings going on about upcoming announcements to be made in October so I guess something is going to be announced. Couldn't really find out anymore than that.

Ok, WTHeck. I put up something schmucky and people wonder what I did wrong. Julie puts up something schmucky and everyone is buing cases of Klexex. I AM GETTING SUCH THE BAD RAP!!!! :lmao: Really I am not a childish ogre, I just like to have fun in cyberspace:rolleyes1
We live near Ann Arbor and Karen went to Eastern in Ypsilanti and the holier than thou attitude just drips down the walls like Amityville Horror.
Awwww Curt!!!! I think that what you said was very sweet. But, like my DH, if he said something like that about me, everyone would wonder what he did too.

Well, I've been MIA.

Work has been CRAZY! I worked close to 80 hours last week, and put in 16 hours yesterday!

I arranged for a great surprise for my Parents. They are coming up from Florida to stay with our kids during our cruise. They are driving up on Thursday Oct 19th. It is my Mom's 75th birthday this week so my sisters and I chipped in to get her a nice gift. On top of that my sister from California and my sister from NJ are flying in as a surprise on the 19th so we will have a surprise party for my Mom! They will stay the weekend while we are away (my sister Kate, from California, is staying until Tuesday, so she can help my parents with the kids) It is the first time since 1999 that we will all be together!

I can't wait!

3 weeks away!!!
