As for bathroom, our master bath was turquoise. Yup--turquoise toilet, sink and shower stall, along with turquoise wallpaer with huge white daisies on it. The funny thing is, that bathroom also has heat lamps and when you turned them on, it was the scariest thing ever. We fixed that up, only keeping the blue shower and floor and painted the walls yellow to draw the attention away from the turquoise. The girls bathroom is pink, pepto bismol pink and grey tiling. We SO need to gut that sucker. I tried to overcome the color by decorating in the princesses, but even the princess pink clashes with this nasty color. I'm in denial about the whole thing. The 3rd bathroom was 70s yellow and has since been updated to a lovely light green.
And still another TZ moment! Our bathroom used to be turquoise too! With a black linolium tile floor! The tiles had a yellowish streak thru them that kinda made you wonder if the cat threw up. That bathroom was the first remodeling job we did in this house. That was 17 years ago, and now I'm ready to do it again. We'll see.. :scratchin

:teeth: When we moved in to our house. We had a pink bathroom with black tiles.A living room that was a dinggy gold and a basement with evergreen paneling.   Needless to say they are all gone!Oh and I forgot the dark brown shag carpet! How could I forget that! :confused3

We lucked out. The only negative to our house when we moved in was pink carpeting on the first floor. We took that our over the years. Kept the hardwood floor in the dining room and put down different carpeting in the other rooms. Our kitchen needs to be redone and hopefully will be soon - if we would just stop cruising. :rotfl2:

Trust me, I never heard of it either. Until that first day that the paint chipped off (about a week after we moved in) and I saw PINK underneath. My question is, who makes PINK laminate, and who chooses PINK laminate????
Amy my sister-in-law put in a mauve counter top in the early 90's. :rotfl: I didn't like it. I didn't dare say any thing! ;) That would have been war. ::yes::

How about another addition of GTKYFKK -- (Get To Know Your Fellow Krazy Kruiser). It's been a while. So, here's goes:

What was the most embarrassing thing that happened to you at a grocery store?

What was the funniest thing that happened to you at a mall?

What was the worst thing you ever cooked or baked?

What was the funniest cooking experience you ever had?

What was the most embarrassing thing that happened to you at a grocery store? Back in the 80's my older sister and I were holding hands walking through the aisle. We got a lot of funny looks! :hyper2:

What was the funniest thing that happened to you at a mall? When my nephew had a number 2 accident on my sister (his mom) right before sitting on Santa's lap. Talk about a quick change for him and sis went home right after. ;)
What was the worst thing you ever cooked or baked? I wouldn't even know how to answer this. Too many to choose from! :scared1:
What was the funniest cooking experience you ever had? DH was BBQing when DD was 8 months old. He had her in a baby Bijourn and she was ccoking with him with her round, yellow sunglasses on. They looked so cute! :flower3:

Well, guys I will have to say Have a Good Weekend early! We are flying out in the morning for Disneyland. My 36th Birthday is tomorrow and DD will be 9 at the end of the month. So, we are celebrating Birthdays this trip. I will be back online Tuesday! :wizard:

What was the most embarrassing thing that happened to you at a grocery store? I really haven't had anything embarassing happen at the grocery store.

What was the funniest thing that happened to you at a mall? I was asked if I was adopted since I don't really look like my Mom at all or I've been asked if my Dad was my Grandfather (since his hair prematurely grayed, I unfortunately have been getting grays since I was 12 years old)

What was the worst thing you ever cooked or baked? To many to remember. I have an issue with following recipes sometimes (ask anyone in my family, they'll tell you)

What was the funniest cooking experience you ever had? I have two.
The first is, I was making cookies from a recipe my Mom wrote (yes I was following a recipe on this occasion) and I misunderstood how much flour to put in so when I went to cook them they spead out extremely thin and became one giant cookie! :rotfl:
The second is I was having the family over Christmas Morning for Brunch and was rushing around since we got up late and well I was making an egg dish that I was going to bake and was trying to clean up at the same time well I put the eggs in the oven and couldn't remember if I washed the fork that I used to mix the eggs. Well we sit down to eat and scoop into the egg dish and *POOF* there is the fork! :rotfl2:

What was the most embarrassing thing that happened to you at a grocery store? It would have to be the time that I unloaded my cart onto the conveyor and the checker let me unload it all. Once I was done as I had a cart full, she told me I was in the express line and that I'd have to unload my cart and move to another aisle. Why she stood there and watched me is beyond my understanding. I'm sure she thought I knew it was an express line -- which I didn't. But, instead of stopping me, she just let me unload everything. I wanted to walk right out. I could have died of embarressment.

What was the funniest thing that happened to you at a mall? I'm not sure I have a funniest. I have a worst experience, though. I took my daycare to see the Easter Bunny. The kids wanted to throw pennies in the fountain so we had to take the elevator down to the first floor. We all got into the elevator. I had this little 18 month old standing right next to me and for whatever reason, he put his hand against the door. The elevator door opened, taking his little hand right with it into the pocket the elevator door goes into when it opens. It was the most scary moment I have ever had with one of my daycare children and rates right up there even with my own kids experiences. There was nothing I could do to get his little hand out of the elevator. From somewhere, some construction guys appeared and managed to force the door to open back up. Physically, he was okay. Mentally, I'm not sure either of the adults involved have recovered (myself and the little boys Mom).

What was the worst thing you ever cooked or baked? Pork Chops on a charcoal grill. It wasn't enough that they were on fire, but then I tried to put the fire out by dousing it with water. All that did was cover the burnt pork chops with the charcoal soot. Best thing, my ex and I were having company for dinner that night!

What was the funniest cooking experience you ever had? hmmmm, funniest? I'm not sure. At the time, it wasn't funny but I once dumped an entire bowl of salad all over my lap. Now when I think about it, it's funny, but it wasn't then.

Well I can only think of an answer for #1 on the getting to know you quiz. Mark and I do the grocery shopping together and my most embarassing moment was when we were in the snack aisle and a woman stopped Mark and asked him a question then walked to where I was and said "I didn't know what to pick so I asked your son!" Next stop was the hair color aisle. :rotfl2:

Happy Birthday Roxann!

Okay well I did end up getting the CIS XXL. I dont have lots of punches or heavy stuff and I will just take what I need to crops. I got it from JoAnn's online $90 (I had a $25 gc from Christmas) + free shipping! Not to bad.

Oh My! The same thing happened right in front of us at Wilderness Lodge several years ago. A young brother and sister were waiting for an elevator and started pushing and shoving each other around. My twin boys (then age 4 or 5 I think) were waiting there too. All of a sudden the sister pushed the boy into the closed elevator and the next second it was opening dragging his hand into the pocket. He started screaming as the door kept wrenching to work. We got the door to stay still and the sister went for her parents. We finally got the hand out. It looked like he might have broken a finger or two. We never found out, they rushed right down the hall to their room for ice and we never saw them after that during our visit. To this day my kids never play around elevator doors. They were pretty terrified of them for a long time after that. It's probably the only place they don't rough house! :)

What was the most embarrassing thing that happened to you at a grocery store?

Had to be the time that I had a huge load of groceries and my ATM card wouldn't work. I didn't have any other method of payment with me. The store had a big walk-in cooler so they put it in there while I went to the bank to withdraw the cash. Even when there's nothing wrong at the bank or with your credit you always feel like a deadbeat when the darn things are declined for some obscure reason. The bank gave me a new ATM card and said they were sorry.

What was the funniest thing that happened to you at a mall?

Not really funny but it takes "Shop til you drop" to the extreme. I went to the mall with a co-worker after work. We decided to postpone dinner and shop until the mall closed. I was waiting in line for my last purchase and all of a sudden everything started swimming and getting blurry and my ears were ringing. Next thing I knew I was surrounded by people looking down at me. I had gracefully fallen into a rack of pantyhose and knocked it down. No bumps or bruises. Just embarassed. I think I skipped buying whatever it was and we went to Chili's for dinner.

What was the worst thing you ever cooked or baked?

Hands down it is Fettucine Alfredo with Bleu Cheese. Huh? What kind of recipe calls for that? It was on the package of noodles, honest. What was really funny was it was one of DH's and my first "make dinner together" dates and we both tried to be so cool and casual about it. "Oh yeah, I'm sophisticated. See I even eat this gourmet stuff." Gag! It took us a few minutes to both fess up that it was absolutely the worst thing we'd ever tasted.

What was the funniest cooking experience you ever had?

Not cooking, but in the kitchen and involving a food item. I had an industrial size box of instant potatoes that had been sitting on the shelf for eons. We just don't eat the stuff. Lord knows why I bought instant and better yet why the jumbo size. Must of been on sale. I was just about to throw it in the trash when the garbage disposal called me. "You don't want to put that in a land fill, dump it down here.? You can guess what is coming. I started the hot water, turned on the garbage disposal, and started dumping potato buds down the drain. You'd think I could have guessed it would be like a giant mixer. Within a minute the sink started backing up and we had mashed potatoes as far down into the plumbing as you can get. I tried to avoid telling my DH thinking Draino would fix it. Yeah right. It was like cement. We had to take the plumbing all apart and run a snake down into the parts we couldn't get to. It took forever and we honestly didn't think the stuff was gonna come out. It was dry and hardening up in the pipes. My family is still getting a laugh out of that one.

You can tell I don't post very often. I messed up the quotes and made it look like the OP had my embarassing moments. Sorry about that.

My kids are the same way. Now when we go to see the Easter Bunny or Santa at that mall, the ones with me that day always tell the others who are newer the story. The mall also has a sign posted by the elevator door saying little kids should keep their hands off. I suspect their loss prevention area was involved in that. The Mall, to their credit, handled all of the medical expenses for the child. Up until then, I never even imagined something like that happening. :(

Note to self, don't put instant potatoes down the sink. :upsidedow

Good morning everyone! Hope everyone has a great day. Going to be 50 here in Chicago today - very unusual for this time of year but we won't complain!

Yeah - that's what scares me. What comes after the warm weather. I already remember hearing how nice it was right before the blizzard of '67.
