Ok, now I understand the figures.
So can someone play devil's advocate as to what the board will counter?
Then we can work on the response.

Projected response: "We'll look into it."

Here is the history--two years ago I noted that the per point costs for transport were quite different...and that given that the transport for the two resorts was at that time essentially identical (they shared the boats and ALL bus routes) the costs should have been the same on a per point basis...well it turned out that reason there was such a discepancy was that they had forgotten to charge the BCV anything at all for any of the boat transport budget ( their share being around $400000 I think at that time)--the next year the budget was better but still off- because they are using two different and inherently inconsistent approaches to assigning the costs of transport.

When transportation is shared at a resort as at the YC/BC/BCV or the BWV and BWI, the larger parts of the resort are assigned a larger share of the costs, as seems fair. But when two resorts share the same transportation the costs are split "evenly" that is 50/50..even though the YC/BC/BCV is much bigger than the BWI/BWV and has twice as many bus stops.

Now that they have separated out the bus routes to some degree...and BWI/BWV seems to have the distinction of sharing with the HUGE Swan/Dolphin complex- the rates for transport at BWV have soared (while service by the reports I have see remains poor or spotty at best) WHY? How are the costs split between the BWV and the resorts with which it shares transportation...if little old BWV is paying for half of the transport (with Swan/Dolphin the other half) that is ridiculous..if the cost is allocated by size to BWV at the BW bus stop-- it needs to be consistently split by size of the resort (Swan Dolphin is like 3 x the size of the BW)---

now that YC and BC and BCV seem to have been relieved of any sharing with the Swan/Dolphin have they "stuck" it to the BWV owners to subsidize the transport for the much much larger resort?

Is anyone going to email or write to MS to ask this question? I have only just emailed MS, and intend to follow up. But I would like to know if anyone else plans on doing this?

Thanks, princess:

I have called them---since I have a history with them I took the liberty of calling the guy I dealt with the last two years. He has left the company so now I am waiting for a call back from the new person. We will see. She is supposed to call me on WED NOV 30th.

Wow--look at that VWL charge for transport per point...maybe that is because it has a dedicated boat ...but I would ask how they split the costs for it shares with the Fort Wilderness folks...if they have a 2 million dollar transportation charge and then assign half to the Fort and half to the Wilderness Lodge/VWL then split the costs to VWL by percentage...that would seem to be just as wrong as what they are doing at the Boardwalk....I think the Fort is much bigger than the Lodge/VWL...though I don't know...but it is a good question.

Has VB's dues statement posted anywhere yet? I have seen the total, but not the breakdown. I haven't received my dues statement yet.

We still need the VB numbers for both subsidized and unsubsidized.

Thanks.

Is there someplace I can look that will show what the dues for each resort will be in 2006? Also is there a place that tells me the increases over 2005. A friend just told me that my OKW dues went up 10%. That's a big number, and I wonder if it is true, how does Disney justify that large increase.
I am also interested in BCV and Vero Beach. I haven't been following the Dis lately and I am very much out of the loop.
Thanks,
Marylyn

I was wondering the same thing...I wish I would have paid closer attention...

OKW did go up by 10%. If you do a search under Disney Vaction club and type in "dues increase summary" it will bring you to a thread that has all the dues by resort and by year.
We just bought a re-sale at Vero. Vero dues are very high at 5.27 per point. Unless you need the 11 month window then you will be better off buying at a resort with lower points. We bought vero so we could get a beach cottage.
