Hey guys, we didn't update any more last night, will try to get to it tonite, but can't be sure we will.. however, if you see anything wrong please email/ PM me with the changes. I've missed some stuff already because I lost/ missed the post. So pretty please, email it to me? Thanks

Count me in for cards... but I really want to play Calvin Ball!

Hi Jen,

Our cabin assignment has changed form deck 6 to a GTY for a category 9.
We were able to waitlist and go from an 11 to a 9 for $ 1000.00. 2 weeks without light is tooo much.

Bye, Kim

Oh Linnylye... I'm so sorry about your dog. It is so difficult to see them go. We still haven't gotten another one after losing ours... just too painful.

Leslie... thanks for the Bally info... I got the coupon, and then found out that the closest gym was 45 minutes away. Maybe this is the motivation I need to get busy moving around at home. I have loads of exercise tapes gathering dust!

Happy Thursday!

Thanks for all your hard posting work JenKatt! It feels good to be on the official list. Now, I've got to get you a picture. And... I should update my post icon and timer for this trip!

Gotta get my mind to work! :badpc:

Linnylyle... it is so tought to say goodbye to our dear four legged friends. Our heart felt thought go out to you.

Welcome all you new folks and welcomeback to all who are posting new again.

Will post Serenity Bay Snorkle Adventure list this weekend for corrections etc.

Still no cabin number for us yet, so I am holding out for the Cat 1 upgrade, Yeah RiGHT!!!

Discovery Health :: Homepage (hope the link works)

It's called the National Body Challenge... but it closes at midnight tomorrow (1/20) Once you sign up online (free) you go to the "gifts" and print out the certificate for Ballys. Take the certificate to the club and you get an 8 week trial membership for free. You can sign up Robert too just use a different email etc. Good luck!! It started Jan 15 and runs until March 12. Joe and I have been going every day. :earseek:

Thanks! I'll go do it now. Today is Robert's BD. The big double nickel! I'll give it to him for his birthday. Now, aren't I generous?

I was finally able to pull up my reservation on the internet. I am so excited!!! We are in a guarantee status and I wanted to see if they had assigned us to a cabin yet. Unfortunately they hadn't - but at least I can check from time to time now. Before I was getting all kinds of error messages. Now if they would just update the excursions for the different ports of call...

:jumping1:

Background - We booked this cruise on the off chance we would be able to go. At that time the only cabin available was a guarantee category 11. After patiently waiting for schedules to be sorted out (mainly DS college courses and finals) we are actually able to go!!! Now DH wants to know how much more it would be to get a cabin with a veranda. I called DCL a few days ago to ask. The CM stated that since no Cat. 6 cabins were available he could not give me that information. He asked if I would like to be waitlisted. I told him that without knowing how much more it would be I didn't want them to automatically upgrade our cabin. He stated that they would call us to give us the option before changing our cabin.

Problem - I called DCL today to let them know we will be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary (YEA!!!) during the cruise. Since I had someone on the phone I checked to make sure about the waitlist. This CM informed me that there is a separate department that checks the waitlist and if a cabin becomes available we will be upgraded. She said that she wasn't sure but she thinks the difference in price would be about $2,500!!! I think DH would have a stroke if DCL automatically upgraded our cabin and charged an additional $2,500.

Question - Who should I believe? What should I do? Has anyone had any experience in being waitlisted for an upgrade?

Thanks for any help you can provide!!

We were waitlisted to go from an 11 to a 9 and they called and offered us the room 1st. It was $ 1000.00 additional to move to the cat 9.

Joan,

My figures may not be exactly what you're looking for - but may help a little. I priced out several different categories and still have some of the numbers jotted down. I know price fluctuated depending on when you booked - but I'm assuming the differnce between categories probably stayed the same.

All my figures are for two adults and one child in a cabin and are for the base fare - no taxes or insurance.
A category 8 was $2,000 more than a category 11
A category 7 was $2,700 more than a category 11
Sorry, didn't price a 6 or above - so can't help there.

We were on the waitlist for a category change with DCL directly and they did not call to check when our requested category came available - just sent out another copy of our reservation with the new cabin category and price.
I did not have any kind of notation requesting that they contact me first though - so don't know how they would handle that.

I think it would be fun to pick up on a game or two while on board - but like Leslie I think I would drive the serious card players crazy - I'll have to keep an eye out for the yahtzee group, might be OK there!

Boy our little thread has really taken off!

JenKatt got to start off page two hundred - any bets on who gets page 300 or how long it will take??

The 10 day cruise group was very talkative and anytime the individual posting count got close to a round number (1000, 2000, etc.) the group started to act like a bunch of hungry sharks positioning themselves for the kill (or in this case, the round number posting).

Number 3,000 is coming up. Who is going in for the kill?

Ken
