Linda,

I've got buying on e-bay down!

I've only listed stuff once. I had some gymnastics leotards to sell. I actually did quite well - my biggest problem was people wanting to pay with a credit card through paypal - I just have a personal acct.

Do you think it's worth it to upgrade to be able to accept cc payments? I have seen some folks who have two seperate paypal accts. - seems like that could be a pain as well.

What do you think?

;)

Hey AZ pirate:

I have 2 separate ebay IDS & Paypal accounts, but I do alot of transactions. My biz account I accept credit cards. The fees are 2.9% of total +.30. It's up to you if it's worth it, but many want to use CC for payment. Just be sure to follow all Paypal seller policies, or you could get caught with a charge back.

I have an ID that my DD sells her stuff on for cash, with the personal Paypal account. We post in the listing that "I accept Paypal- bank transfer or Paypal funds only- NO CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED. On this account, we accept money orders as well. See if that works for you. We just deny any CC payments on this account and email the buyer stating: As stated in listing -no CC are accepted, please remit Paypal payment in bank transfer funds or from your Paypal balance. Never had a problem. Everyone sends payment back correctly. Hope that helps!

I see our thread has gone BYOS- bring your own souffle! That's a nice one Grumbo! Where's the vanilla sauce, or was that one fresh from the oven! Nice crown on the souffle, hard to do, so I am most impressed... Got any creme brulee cheesecake over there you want to share?

But wait, the DIS board picture posting challenged dianthus can offer you something!

As good old Marie Antoinette said ~ "Let them eat cake" :cake: and cake you shall have! Voila! Bon Appetite!

Jazzman~ Grumbo is easy to feed! He brings his own food! We gladly supply the coffee!!

Sorry Grumbo, since we're all saving for the cruise now, we dumped Starbucks & are buying Dunkie's Lattes now! Carmel or Mocha- your choice! :drinking1

I haven't "officially" joined you all, since I'm still waiting for the wishy washy-est of our bunch to commit. HOWEVER!! I do have a question!! When I took my mil on the Magic in Sept, I rented a wheelchair that was at the port when we got there. This time, however, I don't want to rent it for the summer! ;-)

How does a person go about taking a wheelchair on a plane? Seems like we'll have to rent one in Milwaukee and take it with us all the way through. Will the airline "check" it at the gate like I've seen them do with strollers? Never seen it happen...thanks, Kelli
Hi Kelli...

Ask 'em to gate check it....I can usually get my scooter gate checked...wheelchairs aren't a problem....

Thanks, Lynda!! It looks like its just gonna be Keith and I and his Mom....however, a friend says she and her 6th grade son want to go. I'm not sure of her finances, though.....

I'll check on wheelchair rental places in WI when we go to see Keith's Mom in August. Who knows, though, she may have her own by then!

I'll get Jeff a message this week about room numbers.....Thanks again, Kelli

I can understand missing the boat if you go to Carlos N' Charlies. We were there May 12 while on the Western. Needless to say I had way too much fun that night & did'nt want to leave! I was however paying for it the next morning. It was not a fun character breakfast, but I did not want my daughter to miss it! It is a must see though if you have never been there! Be sure to order a shot (or five like me!)

Jindy: My daughter has not forgot about e-mailing your daughter, we have both been so busy!

Well it looks as though the cruise looks sold out again. We will also be calling DVC on June 14 to see what can be done. Right now I am glad I made a cash reservation. Will try to convert it to points on that day. What a roller coaster the availability has been.

Sounds like we have some avid photographers along on this cruise, the lap top meet could be interesting. We are shooting with Olympus cameras, C-730 and C 5050. The 5050 is used for underwater and land. Got the 730 a little over a year ago and as expected the bigger and better models continue to be released. Lynn really likes the 730 so will continue till it totally dies or becomes totally obsolete.

I really need to get on ebay and sell some of our stuff. All your tips have been great. Will see when I get the where with all to get that project going.

Wow - our cruise date is sold out???

Ok those of you who have cruised DCL before, tell me truth: how crowded does it get onboard? I mean is 14 days on this ship going to be like 14 days in the parks when they're all full capacity??? :earseek: All the pictures I've seen of the pools and the decks are so terribly crowded. I have to admit I'm a little nervous. I was sort of hoping these ships on the 14-day wouldn't be at full-capacity. :crowded:

I was watching the Travel Channel last night, and saw some awesome ships (the Magic & Wonder included among them as the "Best Family Cruise"). And boy am I dying to book a cruise on the Radisson Seven Seas Mariner. WOW! Have any of you cruised with Radisson before???? I checked online and the rates for their Panama Canal sailing in Dec. 2005 are pretty out there  I also liked the Crystal Cruises ship. ::yes::

I have to admit, those people on those cruises didn't look all packed onto the decks like sardines as the DCL folks do. It made me a little worried...

The last cruise we were on was a tad crowded...
In fact I have a shot of one of the better moments on deck :)

Cheers,
Grumbo

:rotfl: That looks EXACTLY like the picture of the Goofy Pool I saw in another thread...

Grumbo-love that picture!!!!

Don't worry about the ship being at full capacity. We have been on 10+ cruises and the only one we were disappointed in was NOT Disney. In fact, I think this is our 5th or 6th Disney cruise. I can't remember (old age).

The thing I love about the cruise is that there is always plenty of time to get character pictures, formal pictures, and FOOD! The only time I really even think it is crowded is during the sail away party, but they cover the pool and there is plenty of room for dancing and all that stuff. Not anything like at the parks. Oh, the only other time it is crowded is when you are checking in (only sometimes). It depends if you time it right or not. (i.e. buses arriving).

And after 14 days, well, we went on the PC cruise last year on Royal Carribean I didn't want to leave the ship. I wanted to continue on for another week up to Canada, but the DH said I had to get back to work to pay for the cruise since I didn't win the final $17,000 Bingo Jackpot!

Linda

Thanks Peter and Linda. I guess this being my first time and all - I'm a little paranoid about every minor detail.

Peter, she'll be 7 on July 5th (this year). So she'll still be 7 on the cruise. And yes, her name is Star...sort of. Her name has a weird history.

First of all, her dad's name is Adrian. When she was born, the doctors and nurses commented CONSTANTLY on how they'd never seen a newborn little girl look so much like her daddy. I thought I was having a boy the whole time - so I'd picked out plenty of boys names but not too many girls names. Dad on the other hand, had a feeling it was a girl, and thought it would be "cute" if we named her Adrienne. So after hearing the nurses go on and on about how much she looked like him - we named her Adrienne, after her precious daddy  ;) . But I threw in Starlight (the name I wanted for her first name) as her MIDDLE name, because to me her very dark eyes twinkled like little stars. My ex-husband HATED the name Starlight (I think his exact words were, "What kind of hippy sh*t is that?") but threw me a bone considering I'd carried the girl for 9 months and all.

Now here's where it gets complicated. Ex-hubby, Adrian, now has a new relationship. His girlfriend's name is Adrianna and she has a son named Adrian (from a previous relationship) - whom she named after her. (Exactly the opposite of our Adrian/Adrienne combo). So quite frankly, it's just to many Adrian/Adrienne/Adrianna's for one "extended" family. So I just started calling her Star; which was my original choice anyway!!

Makes it less confusing when she's staying at their house. As EVERYONE there has the same name! (Although her daddy always calls her Adrienne. He still thinks "Starlight" is some weird "hippy name". )

Whew! Are you all still with me?

It's kind of like George Foreman and his little sons named "GEORGE"

And like Rocky! :rotfl:

Uh which street to you live on Jin????

Haight or Ashbury??? ;)

Grumbo
