So Leslie, what's the latest on "Bridezilla"? You've been very quite on the subject.

Ken

We've got another baby announcement in the family! :cool1:

My sister had another baby boy on Monday. He was 7 lbs 12 oz. My sister was too tired to make much sense with other details but both are doing really well. It was funny to have her call us tonight for some "new mom" advice when it was her we have been calling since the middle of Amy's pregnancy.

Her other son is 2 years old so Emma will have some cousins around her age to grow up with. We're really excited about that.

We've got to take her in tomorrow for her first set of immunization shots. We're really dreading that. :guilty:

Elaine, congratulations on your tag! I'm still not convinced the Tag Fairy exists though!

Let's see Ken, L.A. is 10 and 12 and in 4th place in the West but I can't focus on any other sports until the hockey playoffs are through!

GO SHARKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to tell you guys about a fairy - here is a post I posted on another thread:

so glad it is almost time for the night to come and I can go to bed.........

started my day off very bad

Won't go into the whole thing, but had a blow out on I-95 this morning at 5:30 am. Pitch black. Ended up on a not so good area of town and called AAA - they never came. My DD came and took DH to the airport and I am left with this blow out. Two guys (***) came and helped me and changed the tire for me. I CERTAINLY HAVE AN ANGEL ON MY SHOULDER......... :cloud9: :cloud9: They ended up being very nice. THANK GOODNESS

AAA never came and I called them back and said the tire had been changed already, so they would not put a service call on my account.

After I got home I went to Goodyear and got a new tire. A hole as big as my thumb was in the back passenger tire. Now mind you, the car has less than 2000 miles on it. It is a Nissas Murano (SUV). After I got home I realized that they must have given me credit for the tire for it being so new. I think SUV tires cost over $300 and they charged me only $130 + tax.

Anyways, I am pooped for the day. STRESS all the way

So, do I believe in fairies?????

KAY!!!!!! That's just awful to hear about!! I'm sure you were a nervous wreck. To have something like that happen anytime is terrible, but when you're in a rush to get somewhere is even worse!!!!!

Glad to hear you're OK, and a discount on a tire isn't all they should have done!!!

Now, the REAL question?!?!? Why do we have to hear about it AFTER other people?!?!?!? :confused3  :guilty:

:rotfl2: cute, Kelli. last night I was so pooped - I was supposed to call someone and didn't, and that was the quickest way I could tell them. :rolleyes1 - just glad I didn't have to get up at 4:30 am this morning. I slept in until 6

When I come to check in I always just look for "14 day" to find our thread. Almost pulled up the wrong one this time.
Wish I was doing a Med cruise.

I'll be looking for reports on the fun trips some of you have planned!

Congrats to those sporting shiny new tags too.

Re: Wicked
DD really struggled when she was reading Wicked and didn't like the book at all. (She said Son of a Witch was better though)
So I'm really glad to hear Jenn and Kelli say that you can NOT like the book and still love the show.

I knew tickets would be nearly impossible to get for the traveling show here if I waited until they were released to the gen. public, so I bought group tickets months ago.
DH about flipped when I told him I bought 20 seats. (we could do a cruise for what I paid for tickets)
But it's a good thing I did. Tickets went on sale here Monday and there was not much other than upper balcony... and even those sold out completely within just a couple of hours.

I'm going to be really popular when I offer orchestra seats to friends who couldn't get tickets. :teeth:
Or I could just go the e-bay route. :rolleyes1 I can't believe how much some of them are going for. Yikes!

Glad you did OK on your midterms. You'll get back on track - just a couple more hours of reading :rotfl:

Glad they are over

Reading??? That is all I do lately. :rotfl2:

Glad to hear you are okay- I saw the post about the car & tire.

Celeste,

I thought I had gotten the recipe from you too, but I can't find it anywhere... sorry!

BTW, Eric finally met your little sister last Sunday! He says she's really nice and the kids are cute!

Found it again-
Maple Glaze:
1/4 cup brandy
1 1/4 cup maple syrup
1 T cornstarch mixed with 2 T water
Place brandy in a pan, ignite, and flambe for 5 seconds
add the syrup & heat
Whisk in the cornstarch & simmer 5 minutes, stirring. Cool to room temp.

Salmon
preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Brush salmon with olive oil & season with coarse salt. Place in a preheated saute pan & sear both sides
Place on a baking sheet. Drizzle 1 T of the maple glaze on each salmon fillet. Place in preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until desired doneness.
Once plated, drizzle with remaining glaze.

Glaze is for 4 servings.

Taken from Cooking with Mickey and the Disney chefs, bt Pam Brandon
2004.

Glad Eric finally found them. I haven't spoken to her very much this week- we've both been busy and I think she is out of town now.

Kay,

You may not believe in fairies, but angels are another matter!!! I'm glad you're ok!

Leslie, keep your chin up!

Steve, good luck with Emma's shots. It's not fun for the parents, but the babies forget the pain pretty quickly... maybe that's what they suddenly remember when they turn 13 and resent us so much....LOL!

Oh!! I didn't realize it was so recent...you're forgiven!!! :goodvibes I hope things settle down to boring soon for you!!

Celeste,

Thanks so much! You'll be happy to know that I have it backed up in my hard drive, printed in my recipe book, shared with my immediate family, and hope to make it this summer... Now, when are you going to be in town???? Anybody? It's hard to cook a fish this size if you don't have a bunch of people to enjoy it..... hint, hint!!! We could have a party, show our pix from the Alaska cruise and however much of it I have scrapped by then, and the book from the repo might even be finished by then! That would be a miracle, but one I'm working really hard on!!! I'm going to finish Twice Charmed while I"m in Utah, and get Canal Day organzied with Linda while I"M there, so when I get home, that is the next project. there's so much to do! But I AM MIGHTY SCRAPPER...AND I WILL COMPLETE THIS ALBUM DESPITE TERRIBLE TEMPTATION COMING FROM ALASKA PIX!!!! Even if I have to take some supplies with me on this cruise, I'll get it as close to done as I can before coming home from these trips!!!

Time is coming close to last year really quickly now, we were all shopping, packing, getting to know each other, planning activities like crazy, and never forget, we were all working on dis-gifts for sailaway! I have them up all around my house and when I see them every day, it always makes me smile! I miss you all!!!!

Kay...so sorry to hear about your tire problems...that must have been scary...glad you are all okay...

I sure have had an exciting week this week...first I get tagged (thank you tag fairy) and today we went to a craft show in Toronto and I won the main door prize....a $1,300 sewing machine!!!!!! I guess I will be learning to sew now....like I need another hobby!!!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for our lottery tonight...the jackpot is 30 million dollars (CDN) which would equal approximately 26 million US...do you think that might be enough to find me a house near WDW??????? :rotfl: :rotfl:

There are several listed for sale in close proximity to the MouseHouse... we'd LOVE to have you as a neighbor.... eh?:cool1:

Renae:

I got out my photo albums on Alaska last night and looked at them. Boy, are you gonna have a great time. Brought back so many memories. Just take lots of pics. I know you will.

Elaine:

You are on a roll girl. KEEP IT GOING. I wish you lots of pixie dust . :yay: :yay:

Kelli:

Yes, it happened yesterday morning at 5:30 am.
Today was a good day - and no blow outs. I feel much better. My sister ended up staying with me last night so I would not have to be alone. Harry is home now and all is practically back to normal, if you call our every day living normal.............. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: He had a very quick trip. Left yesterday a.m. for Corpus Cristi, TX, bowled last night and turned around and came home today. What the hey, you can't take it with you, so enjoy life now. :rotfl: :woohoo:

Wouldn't that be soooo cool....do you think we'd be able to get a place for under 26 million...I mean don't Tiger and Shaqille live in Windermere?????? Maybe I could talk that lady into selling that one with the huge white fences and gates...I think that there would enough space for my DisFamily to come and visit!!!!!!
