Laurie, I'm so sorry to hear about Jasmine. I can't imagine anything more devastating. :grouphug:

It was fun to see Scott and Lynn again, but I missed Peter. (Sorry, for some reason I thought you would be at the OKW meet on Sunday.)

We made the mistake of thinking a few days at the Hard Rock Hotel would be a great change of pace. Liked the resort, but the room needs some updating. Once we found the path to City Walk (there's a GPS project for you Scott), we headed there. Compared to Disney, the place was a ghost town.

NOTE TO SELF: Gary cannot handle the rides at Universal. We did the Mummy, Men in Black, Back to the Future where he promptly had what's delicately referred to as a "protein spill." :earseek: We only did E.T. after that and went to the Horror Makeup show that was hysterically funny. :rotfl:

The airport was packed yesterday. Our plane got into MCO late, and then we sat in the plane while they fixed some guage issue. Our wonderful neighbor took care of the foot of snow that was in our driveway. :cold:

Back to the real world........

Ummm Regina... wasn't it Gary on ToT a few years back (during DIScon) doing the same thing :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: ;)

I can relate to the plane issue, just a sign that we needed to stay in Orlando!

Oh Laurie :grouphug: We will be thinking of Jasmine and your family. You have all been through alot in the past few months

Happy Holidays everyone!

Sorry for not keeping in touch, we have been through some rough times around here. As I posted back in October, we were going through an adoption and shortly after my posting it was abruptly halted as Jasmine's aunt decided to adopt her instead. While we are very saddened by this (as well as, devasted, confused and exhausted), we also want what is best for Jasmine. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, as we have.

On the first of December, we moved into our new home in Napa. Michael has been remodeling it (of course!) and I've been trying to decorate amongest the painters, carpenters and Quincy! I decided to keep her out of pre-school until after the first of the year. Needless to say, she has been having fun! I just want to have her room completed so we can get her mattress off the family room floor, before her big brother and sister come home from college!

Our dog, Nikko, has been exploring in the woods and has been kind enough to bring home some ticks! Oh, my favorite...reminds me of my childhood! Quincy keeps wanting to see them after I pick them off! Too funny!

I hope all of you have a safe, happy and joyful Christmas! Big hugs to you all! :grouphug:
Happy Holidays To You also..

Oh Laurie...Mom and I were in tears when we read about Jasmine. We are so sorry. We will keep her in our thoughts and prayers, as well as your family. Sending you :grouphug: from Canada.

Laurie,

That's terrible, you had her in your hearts, and it's hard to change that. As a child a child of adoption, I can understand some of what you're going through. I had twin foster brothers who were taken back by their parents just before the adoption would have gone through. It hurts!

My prayers are with you!!
Renae

Laurie, our thoughts are with you.

Reg, so how was the visit to DCL? Inquiring minds want to know.

“Protein Spill” got to see one at MGM after Lights Motors Action. Looked mostly like carbs.

Yes Debbie, Gary has had a few "protein spills" throughout the years. The TOT episode was a classic. He also left his mark in Mission Space. :rotfl2:

Scott, that was not his "deposit" at the Stunt Show. We're doing South Beach, low carbs. :teeth: :rotfl:

Peter!! I hate you!! I still have Thanksgiving decorations around since we left for FL a week after turkey day. When Kate gets home on Thursday, we'll get to work on the Christmas decor. Your place looks great. :cool1:

The visit to the DCL office was fantastic. No clues about the 2007 itinerary but still fun. Unlike Travel Company which has 1500 CMs, DCL has a much smaller staff and I've talked to the same people for years. It was wonderful to put a face to a name, and to get and give a hug. :flower:

There are nautical touches throughout the office with lots of blues used. When we commented on this, the CM who escorted us said even the restrooms have similarities to the ship. Of course, that required a trip to the Ladies room. The walls had teak wood wainscotting and the doors were shuttered.

They demonstrated the machine that issues the cruise packets. It was fascinating that this one machine does it all. :wizard:

GOOD MORNING TO YOU, SCOTT!!!!!!!!! :guilty:

Regina, I HIGHLY recommend the patch.....Keith has found out he can't out ride me now!!! Gary can hang onto his protein (and carbs!!!)

The field trip to the DCL office really sounds like a lot of fun! I'd love to see the home movie of the cruise doc maker!!!

Again, inquiring minds just gotta know. Do the toilets make that kewl whoosh when they are flushed?

FYI
DCL to Mediterranean in 2007
LINK

This is a translated article-was originally written in French, but it seems as if they will be stopping in Marseilles, and there will probably be a couple of trans-Atlantic cruises ;)

I have seen this as a possible itinerary, but, nothing is definite and this has not even been confirmed with DCL :D

10-Night Mediterranean Cruise out of Barcelona
Ports
Barcelona, Spain
Marseilles, France
Monte Carlo, Monaco
Livorno, Italy (access to Florence; Pisa)
Civitavecchia, Italy (access to Rome)
Valletta, Malta
Palma de Mallorca, Spain
Valencia, Spain

Okay guys....

I took the actual atricle about DCL to work and had it translated by one of my co-workers who is french (the translated atricle posted was gobbly gook).

She confirmed that the article said that DCL had 8 stops planned in Marseilles in 2007.

So would the repositioning cruise be our REPO reunion cruise in 2007???????

The information I received was from my TA. I had her place me on the wish list for the transatlantic and the mediterranean as well.

Almost forgot.....

Don't forget to watch the 2 hour finale of The Amazing Race tonight....part of it was filmed right near where I live in Canada....from the previews they show the Jet Boat Adventure in Niagara Falls and some scenes in Toronto!!!!!! I live right smack dab between the two places!!!!!

Good evening all...
Boy... I need to keep up more often! Life has been tending to interfere with my DIS time a lot lately!!!
Laurie, Mike & Quincy: We are so sorry to hear about your ordeal with Jasmine. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and with her as well. :grouphug:

Celeste!!!! Thanks for the info.... it gives us HOPE! Oh boy.. better start saving our $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ A trans-atlantic crossing and then of course the FIRST 10 Day Med cruise!! WOW. :cool1: Erin may have to put off a wedding until 2010! After all we have to have our cruise priorities! ::yes::

Debbie: Great pics. Glad to see you all had a great time at WDW. We sure wish we could have made it up there to see everyone. That means you all just have to come back!!! :wizard:

So.. imagine if you will..... DCL announces that it will be sailing to Barcelona in 2007. Then Med Cruises for the summer.

BOTH!!! What the heck... it's only money. I'll be 50.... that will be my splurge for the big birthday. Did I say that???

Laurie, Michael & Quincy, we're so sorry to hear what you had to go through. We wish the best for all of you and Jasmine. Take care! :grouphug:

Regarding the Mediterranean cruises, we are leaning toward the non-repo mainly because of the ports. I can't see them doing many stops in the Transatlantic cruise unless they want to make it over 20 days, which will probably price us out.

I looked up some Transatlantic cruises from Florida to Barcelona and they really don't make many stops. They also have at least six days at sea just to get there.

The nice part would be only one flight to worry about, especially with a baby!

Those ports look great! I hope the itinerary turns out similar! I wonder if they would plan train rides to Paris for Disney stays or short flights?

Whatever is decided, I'M READY TO GO!!!!!!!

-steve

Maybe they would stop somewhere along the east coast and also at Bermuda on the Trans-Atlantic route... it's kinda sorta on the way. :) Also, maybe a stop in Southhampton? I for one LOVE sea days and wouldn't mind at all if we didn't stop anywhere. They just need lots of great movies... an expanded rainforest room package and open up the Oceaneers Club to the adults again. :cool1:
