That happened to me when I drove down to Lake Shasta by myself to spend the weekend with my cousin and her folks. I pulled into the 76 station in weed and sat there for like 5 minutes waiting for the attendent. I was looking around trying to figure out what was taking so long since there were no other cars there...finally the gentleman came out of the store and came up to my window. He said "I see you are from Oregon" I said "Yes, can I get unleaded please" He laughed and said "sorry but you have to pump gas yourself down here" I was so embarrassed!!!! He said "it's OK, it happens all the time" and showed me how to use the pump

You mean they still have FULL SERVE gas stations somewhere in the world? :earseek: How much is the gas there $4 a gallon?? :rotfl2: Unbelievable! I haven't seen a full serve station since... okay well that would date me way too much to admit....

Just heard on the news here that NASA has pushed the Shuttle launch back to May 22 now..:sad1:

Would you be like those ones on the Amazing Race last year that put regular gas in a "diesel" fuel tank?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I can beat that, I had an employee put Diesel Fuel into a gas powered shuttle bus. For those of you who don't know a diesel nozzle is much larger than a gas nozzle and will not fit into the opening of a gas powered vehicle, so they stood there and gently forced it in the tank one squeeze at a time.

Would have been a very expensive repair for us, BUT turns out the gas station had mislabeled the pump as regular unleaded so they had to pick up the tab for the expensive repair. Was just glad to know I was not the only one with unsmart employees.

Steve,

I'll have to wave to you when you go on Expedition Everest. I don't do roller coasters except for Thunder Mountain railroad. Too scary for me!

Have any of you Oregonians been to the little animal park just north of the CA border in Bandon? They let you pet the animals there, even tiger cubs! We went last time we were out there before moving down here. I'll NEVER AGAIN drive a motorhome down highway 1! I think that's where they invented roller coasters!

ttfn,
Renae

Okay, my turn!

DH and I met while I was still in college about 10 1/2 years ago. We were married in October 1996 (lots of us in '96, I understand!). ANyway, we wanted to go to Mexico for our honeymoon, but it was technically hurricane season, so we booked our honeymoon for the following March and went to DL for a brief respit right after the wedding. OMG, we had such a blast! And that was the beginning of our Disney obsession. We have been to WDW at least half a dozen times, DL twice, and this will be our third DCL cruise together. Each one has gotten longer...we started with a 7-day, then did the 10-day holiday cruise, and now the 14-day panama canal cruise! Yippy!

DH is 36, I'm 32. I am a compliance officer for a brokerage firm in Silicon Valley. Don't ask what that means, it'll take too long to explain. But I be Rebecca understands, since she's in a very similar business. DH is a data center facilities engineer with Oracle managing the data centers here in Redwood City and in Colorado Springs, CO. He's been there over 5 years and loves what he does, but hates the paycheck (don't we all?).

We work to support our vacation habit (mostly Disney). We also love to camp and snow ski, love to SCUBA dive (only in the tropics - a gal's gotta have her limits ya know), and generally be outside as much as possible. Other than that, we are constantly doing work on our house, which was pretty neglected until we bought it last year.

We have three four-legged kids - two indoor kitties (Chyna and Kobe) and a black lab mix named Foster. He gets a 2 mile walk every day, regardless of the weather. It's good for us too we figure.

There you have it! That's us in a Cliffs Notes sorta way.

Make that me too! The motion thing just doesn't work well for me! I've usually broke out into a cold sweat by the time the ride ends. Did you know that Rockin' Rollercoaster is 1 minute and 28 seconds long? I timed it the one and only time I rode it. DH just doesn't understand, but then he doesn't get sick, I do!

OMG Laurie, I am so jealous! My TA says she just called DCL yesterday and they tell her they haven't even printed ours yet! :earseek: I just don't get it...you only live about 40 miles from us if I remember correctly. UGH! :confused3

Here's hoping for an UPGRADE! :wizard:

Highway 1 between Monterey and Morro Bay is a great place for a bicycle ride. There are some great downhills - unfortunately, there are also some big uphills!

No Linda....at least I know to look at the sticker attached to the little gas cap door thingie (don't know if it has a more technical name or not) to know what type of fuel to put in!!!!!!! Now if the vehicle was standard...then I'd have a problem!!!!

I have to say, as this is our first Disney cruise, when I heard about the luggage case that the documents came in I expected something a little bigger than what we received! :confused3 :teeth: :teeth: I ran after the UPS man and asked him if this was it????? He just laughed at me and kept running! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I've never heard of this...I'd be interested...I'd ace the 80's music category. I heard a song on the radio today from the early 80's and found myself singing along (thank goodness I was in my car). I couldn't believe I knew every word. Don't remember what I did a week ago but remember every word from a song from the 80's. Go Figure.

Elaine
They usually do this every night around 8pm- if I am remembering correctly....
I do really well with late 80s and Alternative 80's music. Not so well with the Pop Hits of the 80s. Robb knows more of that.
Robb is smokin with the other stuff- he has played professionally before. He actually is going to be playing tonight and I can't go due to the paper. He is
downstairs practicing and swearing at his saxaphone....makes me giggle.
