He can read SIT and DOWN. Not War and Peace but it sure surprised the heck out of me when he learned them on the Service Dog Training cruise last November...


On the 10-day we were working on TURN AROUND but he couldn't quite pin down what the command meant so I had to figure out a way to teach him that before expecting him to recognize the shape patterns that represent the command.

Your son would probably get a laugh at Cash's method of trying to pick up a credit card...He makes quite a production out of it...

That would be fun! I bet we both would enjoy that...
Noah is really into the idea of credit cards...I give him all the fake plastic ones I get in the mail.

For this cruise- I ordered a gift card from American Express which has his name imprinted on the hard plastic and is gold. He will have to swipe it and sign for his purchases---I plan on carrying his passport to serve as his ID. I told him he has to purchase all of his souveniers on his "credit card" he has a $75.00 limit between WDW, the cruise, and DL.

Maybe Noah can show Cash- his cash!

In our spare time, and in an attempt to qualify the cruise as a mini-tax write-off, I will be holding training sessions with Cash as the lucky sucker...oops...student... He can read two words pretty regularly now and we need to add a third word to his repertoire...his WHAT ???... Training in a public place is better than in private...he's SUCH a showoff! and I thought I'd work a couple of public training sessions into the busy schedule...Does anyone think this would be interesting? I need some enthusiastic warm bodies who can let him know when he's done good....

Perhaps the 24th would be good?

ATTN Late Dining DISers!

Last post about the late dining. I promise!

I was surprised to get a call at work yesterday from Debbie Wargo from DCL. She's the same wonderful Debbie who handles the REAS ressies for everyone. She said she was asked to help me out with the late dining linking. I guess the person I was working with got in over her head (much like I did too!)

She is finalizing the seating on Friday, May 6 so I will need to close the linking the night before, a bit earlier than expected. We also have a fixed number of "stations" so we only have two tables of four left anyway.

She was kind enough to work with me on a seating chart which I really wasn't expecting. Now we don't have to worry about families or other groups within our large group getting split up or having to swap seats, etc. We put the two families of six each at their own tables, the four groups of families with young children together at two tables so the kids can make fun of all these grown-ups acting younger than they are, and the rest pretty much put together in order of when they requested to be linked unless specifically asked to be put together. We are still free to trade seats after we get there though.

We will be on one side of the restaurants with plenty of window seats! That should make for some nice views of the moonlight on the Atlantic/Pacific while we enjoy dessert!

She did say two things that I thought were pretty strange. One was that we (all 63 of us) weren't even one of the bigger groups on this sailing. I can understand the main seating DISers being bigger but who else? The other thing was that we shouldn't have a problem getting our APL rotation since the ship wouldn't even be close to being full. I know there are some cabins still available but not close to being full? Where the heck is my upgrade?

Now I guess I only have a few days to find a denim tux so I can join the rebels!

More cutie jamies (I type as my ambien is kicking in) at Target. Target has really cute capri jammie pants with little Mickey shillouttes and butterflies. Very cute came in pink or green on white. I picked the pink and paired them with a cute tank from the otherside of the store in juniors (spelling isn't my thing normally, and now it's on a whol.e new level-- as my fellow medical professionals laugh at me since they know how I'm feeling) the tank is pink with chip and dale on them they also had a great tee that was brown that could go with cram shorts/ capris

Like Leslie said, yes they are fine! If not, I'm screwed. I've worn them to non-formal/semi-formal dinners many times...you should feel right at home, and comfortable!

Plus all my capris are loose right now...that's a good thing! Can't say how they'll be come 5/28.......

Oh sleepy, sleepy nurse...
ever notice how many of us have to take stuff to sleep....I'm a benadryl girl...or soma if my back hurts.

I hate to publically admit this- I took a soma the other night after working the weekend as my back was killing me...I got up to go to the bathroom. I remember how tired I was getting....then I was on the floor! I tripped over my DSL wire and got a nice abrasion on my right knee...

No wonder they tell you not to operate heavy machinery on that stuff!

And what a deal, $29 for the whole thing.

Maybe one of your Goldies would like to learn to read...My interest came as a result of someone asking how I would give commands to Cash if he should lose his hearing as he ages... I'd be happy to teach you how to teach them...Better than a write-off...The wonder of your neighborhood...a dog that reads...

Lynda.. that would be awesome!! We'd love to try... wouldn't that be something if we could get one of them to actually do it. Both the babies are going to obedience boot camp while we are on the cruise. If ( I shoud be optimistic and say WHEN) they learn how to do the basic commands... then we can build on that.

What about silk capris? I planned to maybe wear some for semi-formal night. Would they be out of place with a fancy blouse? I have a pair of black silk and a pair of grey silk capris (that I've never worn!). When else would I wear them??

Oh I think silk capri's would be fine for semi-formal. (of course what do I know.. I am NOT a fashionista!) We were talking about casual.. even DENIM (heaven forbid... hope Stacy and Clinton from WHAT NOT TO WEAR are not aboard!!)

That was great. Other than it was a little slow, we reserved our Palo dinner, high tea and brunch along with a spa treatment.

Boy, I sure feel sorry for people who don't know about the DisBoard. Thanks for the great information.

Guess it means more time to eat shrimp when we get on board vs. standing in lines. That's assuming Scott and Leslie leave any for the rest of us
