That is great news about the pins! :flower: :flower:

Now I have to figure out which ones I want to buy...With 4 boxes mailed to the DCL warehouse, I should be able to pack quite a hubcaps :teeth: :teeth: !!

Hi Again

Georgie asked about the rules for the Scavenger Hunt teams. Well, since I'm just making this up as I go - here are the rules for the teams. Each team will have at least 2 members, but no more then 4. Players should select team members carefully and as soon as possible. Team member selection can take place anytime up to the start of the Scavenger Hunt. Teams are encouraged to practice as much as possible prior to the Hunt.

Ken

Wheeew! All caught up.

Still no docs here in CA - Starting to get bummed, so we watched "Perfect Proposal" where the guy sets up a "won" trip in FL, and they go to Beach Club for a night, then on to a 7-day cruise on the Magic. Upon boarding (I'm still not sure how they did this with an empty deck...), he proposes on Deck 10. It was really cute and helped get us more in the mood.

Not that I really need it...couldn't sleep last night, just too darned excited. Not good for the old job, which I'm still supposed to be totally dedicated to - at least for another 7 work days. I am jealous of those of you leaving earlier than us. We don't leave until the 12th.

Debbie, thanks for posting that link. To tell the truth, I didn't really expect much from all the notes sent to DCL about the pin releases. But I'm really impressed that it worked and am looking forward to buying a couple that I like in a manner that won't push my "claustrophobia in crowds" buttons :teeth:

Time for us to hit the hay. Got to get through this week so I can at least be on the home stretch.

I agree with Linda - I know I'm going, but the docs are just a bonus.

Good luck tomorrow Celeste. I know you'll be home from Chicago before you see this, but I hope it all goes/went well!

Your calculated health span is 95.7 years.

Too old, my grandma lived to 103, by herself telling everyone else to leave her alone she was fine! But that's because she was fine!

Someone asked aout bringing cranberry wine or something like, feel free, I'm sure it'll be good!

Predicted life span: 92.3 years. I would tend to agree with that based on family history. Not too bad, but DH better live as long!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thanks Debbie for posting the pin news. :cheer2:
I really do feel that they are attempting to listen to us, so our emails worked!!!! It's still going to be kind of crazy with only an hour for selling them. Can't understand how you could come back with your voucher if you didn't purchase it right then.... all within an hour? Or are they giving the vouchers during that hour and you can come back any time Up Beat is open that same day?? I guess we'll have to get clarification on that. Up Beat is the little tiny shop where they sell the liquor back in between Rockin Bar D and Diversions. Kind of tight quarters there. It should be verrrry interrresting. :earboy2:
some observations:
1)What about the LA pin... we will be off the ship before the port hours... so will that one be released on the Sea day before??:scratchin
2) Is the Panama Canal day considered a Sea day or a port day? My guess is sea day... but who knows.. since they are calling them "port pins?" So what will they be selling on sea days??:scratchin
3) My big question... WHY are they only making 500 of the inexpensive little ones and 1000 of the big hubcap @ now $75?
4) I see they are now charging $5 for the map. Sheesh! It should be a gift with purchase of all or X number of the pins like the current WDW Florida map thing. It would be a shame to buy the map and then not be able to get all of the pins.
5) At least they are attempting some sort of organization to the release. It's still 7 days of standing in some sort of line though.
 How about ONE voucher with different punch places on it for the different release days... anybody at DCL listening??
Alright.. off the soapbox. Thanks for letting me vent. :headache:
LOL...like you had a choice.

It's official...we're going on a cruise!

The 'nana dance officially started at 6 when I got home from work! Amy and I are so excited and can't wait to meet all of you!

We definitely aren't the earliest ones at WDW. We will be flying in Wednesday the 11th and spending the evening at Magic Kingdom for the evening EMH. Thursday we'll be at Animal Kingdom and Epcot (with an excursion to Beaches & Cream for lunch and dessert). We're going to Teppanyaki for dinner.

Friday we'll spend the morning at Magic Kingdom for morning EMH and then on to Disney-MGM Studios for the rest of the day. Saturday we start the day at Kona Cafe at the Polynesian to try the famous Tonga Toast before heading out to Port Canaveral.

We're staying at POFQ where we hope to meet Liz & Bill (bill3540) and the elusive Renae!

Wow! Well if that's the case, I was ripped off by the CM who charged me $25 in December for a pair of fins. I thought it was pretty steep.

Beth

Did you rent all the snorkel equipment or just the fins? I know I didn't pay that much as we already had the masks and snorkels. I'm waaaaay to cheap to pay that much for fins so I'm sure we must have paid less. I checked with DW (who is always right :rotfl2: ) and she remembers it being around $18 for the pair also.

We decided to bring our fins this time to avoid extra fees.

Check this out!!! Panama Canal Crossing

It shall be interesting.

Debbie

Yes They did say at the pin event information would be posted today, but no one really believed them. Glad they finally listened to us.

By the way if you click on view pins it shows all the pins and the prices, the jumbo is $75.00

I only rented the fins -- I had my own mask and snorkel. I told them that at the rental counter. I was charged $25 and given a pair of fins.

On a happier note, but no less expensive, I mailed a box to the ship today. 53.6 lbs cost me $53.40 to ship. At least it's done and guaranteed to be there by the 9th. I shipped my fins, along with my mask and snorkel, pirate costumes, gifts, and libations.

Still no docs for me, either.

Beth

When you view the pins they show the release date and LA is shown as 5/28/05, guess we buy it and get off the ship.

Via which company the box did you ship? (Practicing my Yoda voice :) )

I seem to remember someone was renting a car from Budget(?) at or near the Port of LA... could you give me info on the office etc? I think this might be the best option for us right now as we are still floundering on transportation to Paradise Pier. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

I rented from Budget. The location is LG2. I'm renting from that location and dropping it off at Long Beach Airport. I will offer to put you on the roof of my minivan ;)...

Oh and while I'm talking to the expert, I dunno what to pack/ship for liquor. I have SO MUCH. What do you recommend? :) I will have to take the amaretto with me because that bottle is an odd size. Did you know amaretto goes with EVERYTHING? :) Literally DAYS of research (on a DCL cruise) went into that study. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Sorry, meant to put that in. UPS ground. But it has a long way to go. The next cheapest option was more than twice the cost.

Beth

DW and I headed for Disneyland this evening, and got a chance to see the new parade and fireworks. WOW!!!!! Those of you heading for Disneyland are in for a real treat.

So, we got home at about 10pm, and waiting on the doorstep, was a little brown box. They came!!!!

See you soon,

Rethink that ?? You and the other 5000 people...
going to call dvc to get our Free Ride today..

Last Night I booked Our Return Air Portion of The Trip..

T shirts ordered..

A NJ Good Morning!

TODAY's THE DAY for our docs... at least I hope so!

We're excited, but stressed out... how will we get everything ready in time... well, we probably won't... but that's okay!

Great news that the pins will be somewhat organized... BUT I am disappointed. They could have had a "lottery" like they do at the parks when there are special events. I really don't want to spend my vacation standing in line :guilty: , but it would be nice to have at least one special pin. I was also hoping that at least some of the pins would have a larger edition size than 1,000. That way EVERYONE would be guaranteed one. Thought: Maybe they'll have a special pin for each cabin to commerate the cruise... :wizard:

We'll got the underwear packed!!! :rotfl2:

HAVE A GREAT DAY...

P.S. Regina... enjoy all those press events! :Pinkbounc

Your calculated health span is 98.0 years. Below, please find the reasoning behind the questions, which you answered that made your score less than it should be:

"Less than it should be?!?!?!?!?" They're on crack.........I better cancel my vacations...I gotta save for my old age!!! :rotfl2:

I coulda done better but Ty distracted me......;)

I thought this calculator was interesting. I also like how it tells you how you could improve yours score......like I want to live to 100.

One of the doctors got a score of 73- :guilty:
That is pretty young to die.

Yes, you better get saving- or change your lifestyle and live dangerously!
