Hey everyone,
DCL told me yesterday that my docs were mailed. It would be three day mailing. Shouldn't expect them this week . Maybe Monday or Tuesday.
Everyone should get La Vida Mickey, the CD. It has the music on it like we will hear on the sail away party. Gets you in the mood,
They also said the farewell show will be altered to represent our cruise, so it will be special.
They are unsure if there will be special celebration at Port Canaveral. Jury still out according to the cast members. They seem certain there will be a special celebration at L.A., but nothing official.
I tend to re check questions when I call. No notice of Star Wars.
No names for celebrity singers.
Bill

I have the La Vida Mickey CD and I love it! It's lots of fun to listen to. The last time I was at WDW, they were playing the CD at the stores at the Boardwalk.

For all of you who have arranged transportation from the port in L.A., what time are you asking to be picked up? I was thinking 9 a.m., but what if there special celebrations and things going on? I have no idea what time to tell them!

Hooray, our docs just came!

:cool1: :cool1:

Hope the rest to be delivered won't be far behind and everyone will be doing the doc dance very soon

and then on to ::MickeyMo cruising, pirate: and a great time.

Cathy

...printed, but to be shipped today and not to expect till next week. But...they came today overnight express...hope yours will, too!

Angela, I called DCL to find out specifically where we were docking so my MIL can pick us up. I asked her about how late we can stay on the ship until. She said everyone would be leaving at the same time at 9am.

This didn't sound quite right to me but what do I know? I thought I remembered being able to take your time a little getting off. I was expecting some kind of welcome but we may miss it if we have to be up early, have breakfast, and be off by 9.

Anyway, the lady at DCL told me to have our MIL pick us up at 9:30 (we're telling her 10) to give us time to get through customs and get our luggage.

On doc watch alert, our docs made it from South Carolina to Oakland last night. They are supposed to be here Monday now instead of Sunday. The thought of them sitting at our doorstep while I am at work makes me worry!

Maybe my boss will let me take a half day off if I tell him I have to go see the "doc"!

Our limo service just emailed us yesterday also.
DCL is imposing very strict guidelines at present.
They told us that it will be virtually impossible to drop us off before 10:30AM on the 14th. They asked us to change our time of travel because of it.

Is there anyone that didn't order "repo" shirts? I didn't order any and now I am worried we will be the only DISsers without them. :worried:

Cindy...you won't be the only one. While I would have like to have ordered some but being in Canada we also have to think of the exchange and the extra shipping charges, as well as the customs fees and then hope and pray that they arrive in a timely manner. So I decided not to order them. I will however be wearing a disboard green shirt and jeans on embarkation day.

Thanks, Steve. I guess I'll ask for a 9:30 pickup.

Still waiting for our docs also. I like your idea - I think I'll tell my boss Monday that I have to go see the "doc" too! :rotfl:

Is that just for the drop-off point? We are driving our rental car in and plan to be there between 9:30 and 10 to take pictures and video. I was planning on dropping Amy off with the luggage at that shuttle pickup lot across the street, returning the car to Budget, and then catching their shuttle back.

Did they say or does anyone know if they ever close that area off to incoming traffic?

You will be fine. We have gotten there early before they open the terminal. You just start a line up outside! I have never seen them close off the area while the ship is in port. We have even driven through on non-port days. Everything is locked up but you could still drive through. They have built a whole new drop off area and pick up area and then the new fencing system is in place right there. Also, for DCL, loading the ships with the new passengers is really no different than before. They didn't treat us any differently on the 10 day cruise, only difference was the amount of luggage we gave to the porters at the drop off point!

Linda

PS My DH is dropping off me, my dad and mom and then will take rental over to National and then catch taxi back. Tell Amy she can come stand with us!
....and Ken.......and Shari............and Scott..............and Lynn..............and everyone else from the BOARDS!!!!

Maybe all you guys who can get there early can start the party with a CONGA LINE outside the terminal and play the La Vida Mickey CD!!!

Great idea, since "Conga" is one of the songs on the CD. Fun!

My docs are here! I got home and DH had them sitting inside -- still inside the box like they weren't very important!! Yikes. I had to rip open the box to be sure we all had docs. Yeah!

I've been listening to my "attractions" CD and also "Fantasmic."

My friends all think I'm a big goober. Yeah, well, maybe, but I'm a goober going on a 14-night Disney cruise! SO THERE! :rotfl2:

Today I checked out the video on Panama Canal, produced by NOVA and narrated by McCollough. 15 day party time! (although we have no docs yet).
Suitcases are laid out and 80% of the stuff is ready to load. Just have to get through grading the finals (I teach at a college) and I am ready!

Bill,

Thanks for the La Vida Mickey note! I just bought it on iTunes! Yeah!!  That calls for a dancing banana!

Oops! Not La Vida Mickey...it is La Vida Mickey2...guess it will have to work!!

Just got off the phone with DCL about many things...

o Found out my documents were mailed 04/28 - a 3 day service - no signature will be required. Will probably get them on Monday :goodvibes

o Prepaid my gratuitues. Will get the receipts and envelopes in our cabin

o Cancelled one of our excursions so we could go on the ATV tour :Pinkbounc

o Found out I should have received a confirmation letter about the REAS package... I didn't :guilty: But, I am still listed for it.

Other news:

Got back from the doctor's. DH + I got our tetanus updated. Brought back memories of those early trips to the doctor's office, but this time I didn't get any special treatment (I remember my mom bought us Colorforms after we got our shots!). The doctor saw no need for HepA. He did give us a supply of antibiotics for dysentery.

His tips were as follows. I am probably repearint things which have already been posted. :flower:

When not onboard the ship, drink bottled water, canned soda... if the water bottles, sodas, are sitting in a tub of water + ice, be sure to wipe them off first before drinking from them, don't put ice in your water, soda (outside the ship)
