The link to the pins now shows all the pins that will be released on the cruise really need a bigger suitcase at this point. The pins are just awesome.

I think there is somebody puting together a list to share so the kids can meet each other before via email and during the cruise.

From Peter's daily updates it looks like Hmrgang is doing the list of teens and tweeners. You can PM Hmrgang for more info.

Shoze--Look for Peter's(Hygiene99) daily update this evening. It will help you get caught up on all the activities. Be sure to check out the "master list" (link is on the daily updates) as it shows the ages of the kids traveling with us.

Since it seems that we have a bunch of serious pin collectors onboard, does anyone want to venture a guess as to how much the hubcap pin might cost?

Liz
only 35 days and 20 hours until we leave for Port Canaveral....

Well you guys have sure been chatty :cool1:

Well...I was a packing fool last night.

I got my DH's things packed so he can move on the 18th (minus the stuff he uses everyday).

I got all my clothes packed and some of DH's clothes packed for the cruise. Plus I started the misc. suitcase for all those things that are hard to pack. I bought a new BIG suitcase...I think there will be enough room for me to take MORE SHOES!!!! YEAH!!!

Then I started packing up my computer room. We have lots of collectables that need to be packed with care.

PINS: That super pin is so cool  Got to get me one of those :flower:

Liz,
Do I have this right?
Peter is hygeine99. He updates each evening. He has a link to his master list that I wil find on his daily update. This will have #s and ages of kids traveling onboard

Hmrgang is someone else. They also have a list of teens and tweens. I should pm that person to get their list.

Let me know if I got it wrong. Thanks for your advice
Heide

You think if we ALL send in Leslie's pre-order idea for the pins in they will listen? I don't want to spend my cruise waiting in pin lines either - but would love a set of all the special port pins!

Heide,

You're catching on!
Here is the link to the list of Dis board folks going if you want to check that out:

http://www.tiggerfan.net/canal

I have DD's ages 17,14,6 who are going - have to admit I have been slacking a bit and have not sent their info in to Phyllis (HMRGang) yet.

Watch for Peter's updates - you can scroll back a few pages to find the last one as well - it just may be a few pages as we've been pretty chatty lately.

He has all the important info included there with links.

Hard to tell at this point. Most of the regular jumbo pins are $25-$35. The last "super jumbo" from last years pin cruise was $55. These are usually LE of 750 or less. The Ship in the Bottle (LE 250) which was much smaller was $65, and had similar packaging. This super jumbo one has BOTH crossing dates on it so they have to have enough to split between the crossings... but given how BIG it is, along with the special wood and glass box.... I'm going to hazard a guess at somewhere between $75-$95. Could be up to $125 though... depending on how greedy they get. IMHO they should GIVE one to every stateroom...considering how much this cruise cost. The small logo pin looks almost identical... and certainly takes up less room and weight in the luggage! Strange that they would have them be so similar.

The Pin Pursuit pins will probably be $10.50 each... although they do not look like pin on pin or have any bells and whistles.... so they should be 6.50 if they are flat, non-descript open stock pins.. but don't count on it... don't forget we are a captive audience!
If they are LE they should be $8.50. Don't know if DCL has experienced the .45 price increase ...if so.. up that to $8.95, $10.95 etc.

The pin will either be $35. or $55. - Sorta figuring on what they have been at the other events at WDW.

You're correct, Leslie - it could be any price really. We would be VERY LUCKY if it is $55. :cool1:

:confused3

I WENT BACK AND LOOKED AT IT. It is large and in a frame. It could VERY well be in the area of $95.00 or more..............

GUESS GUESS GUESS

Hey guys - got a HUGE favor to ask of you....

I "need" the May Panama Canal Crossing pin ... actually would like two but frankly, ain't gonna get greedy ... so, I'm here a beggin' for someone to purdy please get me (1) of the May crossing pins, and (1) set of the pin pursuit pins.

I will gladly pay for them IN ADVANCE (once we know pricing) either via money order mailed to you or via paypal. If we don't not know pricing in advance, I'd be more than willing to paypal you the second you email me from the cruise with a price.

Purdy please??

Please PM me or send an email to ivanova.bab5@sbcglobal.net and let me know if you can do this for me.

Thanks!!!

Wait a minute. You bought what?!? Sad I have to learn what Kevin is doing by reading the DisBoards. Anything else you obtained? Did you get our Los Angeles transportation taken care of? What about picking up the clothes at the cleaners! :rotfl: :rotfl:

And the dog food for Cash? :bitelip:

Shoze, Heide,,, Hurry if you haven't already done it. Get your info to Jeff or Jen so that you can be added to the master list if it is not too late. With your Dis name of "Shoze", I think you are okay. That list is the framework for just about everything we are doing here. I don't think there is a running list of the kids, but I have a twelve year old son and a 9 year old daughter. My son will try to get into the Stack. The master list will give you an idea of the kids also coming.

I have a brilliant pin plan. Let's bring wristbands. When people show up to buy the pins, we'll hold up our wrists and tell them that they need to get the band to purchase them.

We'll be very helpful and direct them to subdeck 13 where they're being distributed. :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

May I have 4 for Cash, please?

Wow... This group has been posting like crazy today. Close to 10 pages of posts I had to read through.

Congratulations to those who have staterooms assigned. Anyone booked via DVC (Dreadful Vacation Curse?) get an assignment? We still have NOTHING. No stateroom, no mailings, no nutin'.

:earsboy:

Dreadful Vacation Curse? I love it. Don't worry.. we're in the same boat as you. I made the call yesterday afternoon after I saw that everyone else was cheerily getting theirs. Asked my token inane question that I already knew the answer to (I have a firm rule of not letting them know that I am calling just about the stateroom asssignment) and found that we were still in GTY status. In their ever positive way, the cast member pointed out that this is a good thing as it means that there is a chance for a better upgrade. Perhaps.. but I'll believe it when I see it.

Anyway, misery loves company... and we DVC'ers know we are in good company!

By the way... I see where all our priorities rest... there have been 8 pages of posts since yesterday evening (and counting). Yet... last weekend, there was hardly any chatter. I'm guessing that we're all sitting on here while at the office just counting down the time.. tick ... tick... tick...

At the risk of getting ridicule from my DW about posting something else... I'm going to ask...

What's Disney's take on alcohol purchases in foreign ports? Curacao... home of the Amstel Brewery... it would certainly be nice to pick up some souvenirs there to enjoy through the canal.

Last time we did The Magic (back in 2000) I seem to recall that alcohol purchases in foreign ports were sequestered and held until final debarkation due to customs regulations. All I can seem to find on the boards is mentions of stocking up in Key West.

So... any experiences amongst this group? Considering the conversation on this board, I'd find it hard to believe that I'm the only one that will be drinking!

While there will not be grass skirts, much to Scott H's dismay (and others! :)), your local Disney Store will soon be receiving Hula shirts, dresses, baseball caps, flip flops, and cargo shorts.

You probably won't see them before 4/25, but there will be the following:

Men/Boys - Hula Camp shirt and cargo shorts (yes men's, woo hoo!)
Ladies/Girls - Hula dress
Adult/Kids - baseball cap, flip flops

Just thought you wanna know. I don't know what they look like yet but hopefully I will know soon. I can't remember having men's shorts in the store, I hope they are nice!

My guess on the pin $$$ will be between $ 75.00 & $ 100 <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm813' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_2_108.gif' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm813' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_2_108.gif' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm813' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_2_108.gif' border=0></a>

Here is a real cheap way to get a grass skirt any size you want. Go to any party store, you can purchase grass skirts for tables ( they go around the edges) all you have to do is cut the grass the width you need to vocer yourself and then use sticky velcro/or sew the velcro to hold the skirt together. You can get usually 2 table shirts for around 10-15 $$ and that would be enough grass to make 3-4 skirts at lease...

The Pin Pursuit might be different... they might release each port pin on the day that we hit that port... or they could release them all at once. I'm guessing they will release them as we go.... but that's just a guess. Unfortunately it means standing in line a lot... not one of my forte's.... I don't like wasting cruise time standing in lines.
If Disney were planning ahead.. when we get to our staterooms there would be a form where they would let us PRE-ORDER one entire set of pins per person, deliver them to our stateroom and charge our room accounts accordingly. ANYONE FROM DISNEY LISTENING??????

We talked to some friends about this who are definately the ones to know. They explained that WDW Event Services offered to do an RSP program, or ordering system for DCL for the two cruises. Unfortunately, DCL turned them down flat. As of right now, there will be no pre-orders or RSP offered.

So, bring some comfortable shoes, because we are going to be standing in a *lot* of lines. :sad2: Until I saw the jumbo pin, I was refusing to do anything that was going to involve the hours long lines, but now....
