but I'd just like to add our names to the list of DIS members on the repositioning cruise, furthermore...I only booked yesterday!!

So, myself, DW, DS7 and DD4 will be joining the party 5 weeks from today.

I had wanted to do this cruise since I heard about it, but it was never really an option, however, over the past few weeks the planets aligned and it became a possibility.

I spoke to Disney yesterday, expecting to book a Cat 8, however, when I was on the line, a Cat 4 popped up and I grabbed it with both hands!

So...lot's of catching up to do with only a short time to get everything ready, especially trying to work my way through this thread...you guys have been busy

I spoke to Disney yesterday, expecting to book a Cat 8, however, when I was on the line, a Cat 4 popped up and I grabbed it with both hands!

Now maybe I just don't know how Disney works - have we ever - but for those people who have been waiting for an upgrade - for MONTHS AND MONTHS - and then someone books within a month - when at one point and time nothing was available - and they get a Cat 4. It will never cease to amaze me.

HOPE THOSE WAITING WILL GET THEIR UPGRADE. I WOULD CALL AND BUG THEM EVERY DAY.

I can't figure out my Acapulco day... I want to see the Cliff Divers and spend some time at the pools or a beach.

I am booked on an excursion at 10:00 (posted arrival time into port is not 10:30?) The divers are at 1:00. Should I just do the cliff diving on my own? I'm leaning that way. Then, I can taxi over to Cici's water park. Our departure is looking at 9:00 pm. Wonder if I'll have enough time at the water park after the Cliff Diving.?

Any thoughts? I don't want to get sucked up into a 4 hour tour of the place spent on a bus or a taxi. I want to see the cliff divers, eat, and get out of there on to something fun!

I think DCL will be more than willing to SELL a cat 4 now, rather than give an upgrade away for free! But, if you are in a cat 4 without a room assignment, THEN, I would call and bug them.

I feel your dilemma. We actually paid to upgrade ourselves from Cat 8 to Cat 6. Now we get our stateroom assignment and we have a solid white wall verandah. Yes, it is a Cat 6. No, I don't want that room. It's like a Cat 6.5, just a bit better than Navigator but not like a clear wall, regular verandah.

Since we booked through DVC I'm caught in this limbo of DVC not caring and DCL not talking to me because communication must go through DVC. I posted a big rant on the DVC boards.

Congratulations to all of you who got upgrades and rooms that you want. Ultimately we will enjoy the cruise, but the last several days have been stressful and annoying.

We decided to purchase an upgrade from our original Cat. 6 to a Cat. 4 when it became available. Now I'm waiting for a free upgrade to Cat. 3! A girl can dream, can't she?!

UKIan, did you get main or late dinner seating?

We are traveling w/DD (4) also, glad to hear she will have another new friend on board!

Call DCL directly and inquire what Category 6 rooms are available. Don't tell them you are already booked with DVC. Act like new customer inquiring. Then if they have one you are interested in, ask them to put on "courtesy hold" while you check to see if it will work. Then call DCL and tell them "You have same category stateroom on hold with DCL, here is the confirmation number", have them put you on hold while they call DCL and tell them you want to switch rooms. I did that before and it worked. It's worth a try if you are not happy with your room assignment.

For those that purchased an upgrade, did you pay the difference between the cabin categories as of the date you booked or the current booking rate? I booked the day the ressies opened, and I'm guessing the difference between adjoining 9's and adjoining rooms with verandahs (if any are even available) would be in the 2-3k range?

And, Tony, I have to ask you, since I just noticed that you are from Anaheim, CA, are you Tony Phoenix, whose wife is Adrienne? If so, we met a few years ago at Disneyland, not sure if you remember us, I was there with my granddaughter Renee, I believe, and while she was too short to ride IAJ, I think with your help we were able to get her through the queue so she could see it. Anyway, it's great that you're going to be on the cruise. I'll enjoy seeing you and Adrienne again, along with meeting all these new freinds.

OK, what I meant to ask, UKIan, is where in England is Northampton? I need a . Geography is not my strong suit. If I haven't been there, I usually don't know where it is. So, in England, I know where London, Durham, and Seaham are. Oh, and I know approximately where Liverpool is, having been a huge Beattle fan back in the day.

I put a photo of the Magic on my Laptop desktop earlier this week, and have been asked about it at the airports, on my flights, and even by my clients.

Adrienne has taken to telling people that, one way or the other, I am going overboard in May.
