Just a thought for those of us that have children with us. I have a "tweener" - a son who will turn 12 on the cruise, who thinks he is too big for the Oceaneer's Club but is too young for the teens place. We have many days at sea, and I don't want to hear the words "I'm bored..." (perish the thought!) It would be great for him to meet other DISer kids who like similar things (i.e. sports, games, music). Would anyone be interested in a list to give our kids a headstart towards hooking up with others that might have the same interests? We could have a list for first name, age, room number, and interests/requests. :earsboy:
Phyllis

I have a 13 yo DD (Katie) and 9 yo DS (Will). I think Will most likely will live in the kids club but Katie wasn't too thrilled with the Oceaneers club when we went on a 4 day cruise two years ago and I'm afraid she may be a bit young for the teen club this year. I think it would be great if the kids in the group could meet at the afternoon sail-a-way. pirate:

Does Pal ::MickeyMo work in Disney Land?

Okay... let me rephrase; does he provide schedule updates and informative info, NOT "work" at the Haunted Massion!

Thought I would qualify the statement prior...

Unfortunately Pal Mickey does not work at DL.... they do not have the technology or infrastructure set up.
Remember... WDW is where Magic lives!....LOL

Marie,, Billy, as I told you earlier, is still 12 at the time of the cruise. He will be short of 13 by about one month. He has all of his friends in the seventh grade and they are for the most part alot older than him. I plan on attempting to get him into the stack. Billy is 5ft 10 in and 140 #. He would not do well in the oceaneer lab. Billy will likely be helping out to give out goodies along with Kristen at the sail away parties. We are planning to help 1) Kendra, who we are in with for a goodie giveaway, 2) Lynda, videogal1, who Kristen (and likely us too) really wants to assist with the giveaways. Billy says he would be happy to hang out with Katie or maybe Katie would like to help with the giveaway.
I plan on having Billy help as I don't think we will be able to do it quickly by ourselves. Let me know if this is of interest.
Bill

Also, we're thinking about bringing our DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION with us on the cruise. If they allow it, we could let it go to the stack and the kids could have a blast. First must check with DCL.
Bill

3Dan: What is a DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION. Is it s surprise??? Will we be shocked or surprised.. :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Am off to the drs. this a.m. to get medicine to make me feel better. Have to get well for all the fun coming up. :smooth:

Kay, good luck at the doctor's today. I hope you feel better really soon!

Well, today is the big day! March 14th is the payment in full due date for this cruise. Don't you think that now everyone without an assigned stateroom will get one, and those of "us" that have been on a wait list since May of last year might just get moved? (keeping my fingers crossed) Good luck everyone!

Have a great day even if it is Monday!

Good call there, Robin. Those of us waiting, good luck. I am just glad to be on the ship... That makes me very happy. :cool1:

Wonder if they will have extra help today.... LOL :rotfl:

3Dan: my son 15yr.. is begging to bring along his Game cube, he figures the arcade to is expensive (yes!!) and that the games in the teen area will have a waiting line.

He loves DDR but there is no way I'm packing those game pads :-) but that's a great idea if you could find a way.

I agree, Kay! I think you've had more than enough of that stuff.....need to tell the doc we can't be having you sick!!! :wizard: Gotta knock that stuff out now!!

On the subject of sickness:I plan to take several packages of "Airborne" on the cruise. Has anyone else tried this stuff? It was developed by a :teacher: who was tired of getting sick from her students. Its like an orange or lemon-lime alka seltzer, and its packed with vitamins and minerals to jump start your immune system. I even talked a guy at work into trying it, and he's very "anti-drugs" of any kind. He was impressed.

Directions say to take it every 3 hours as necessary, but very seldom do I use it that often. I usually take it before bed, in the morning, or before I get on the plane or go into a crowd. :crowded: I find it here at Walgreen's, WalMart, and a local pharmacy, but most places its hit or miss when they have it in stock because its so popular. The pharmacies usually charge $7.99 for 10 tablets, WalMart is a little cheaper, but WalMart so inconvenient to get to, I get it other places.

Hey I'm just happy I finally paid for this trip and tonight I can talk with my wife and figure out what excursion to book. Boy are we behind or what !!!

Since I'm waaaaay out of the game cube loop anymore, I'm not completely sure what you're talking about. But if you're talking about one of those pads you walk on and hit the right spots, here's an idea.

Sounds like the perfect thing to mail down to the ship!

And on that subject:How confident are we about ever seeing our things if they ARE shipped down? :confused3

GameCube. . . Yes, I am planning on bringing the GameCube. My DS9 would never survive 14 days without it. :rotfl: Actually, I love having a drink on the verandah while DS and DD have fun on the GameCube. It makes for a very happy family dinner. :)

Spencer will be bringing Zelda, Matrix, and nearly every game know to exist.

Now, I can only hope I can get the thing plugged into the back of the TV. I do have an rf converter that will allow the GameCube directly into the plug for the cable, but I have heard you may not be able to get to it -- something about locking it down. I wonder if the steward could fix it.

BTW . . . I updated more excursions (including my own!) so take a look! If you are not listed, send me a PM.

I'm guessing there has to be a way to hook things up to the TV, because I know they will bring a VCR to your room if you get quarantined. :guilty: Everyone--GET HEALTHY FAST!!!!!

Kelli, I have heard nothing but good stuff about Airborne. I would use it if it weren’t carbonated. Lynn has used it, with good results in that she did not get sick. I use Echinacea and Vit C as an alternative, plus my normal vitamin routine. Best advise it to keep your paws clean.

Yes Peter, I agree Bring on the upgrades, You can have our Cat 5 after we get a Cat 1, what a dreamer I am. :rotfl2: I checked availability for 2 persons and just a little bit ago it shows Cat’s 4,5,6,7,8,9,11,and 12.

Tom, I found the guide you mentioned on Amazon. Also ordered it. Sounds good. Thanks for the tip. Who knows someday when we have our own boat we might have to make the trip again.

Linda, did you get my PM?

I thought I would have Katie give out bubbles at the sail-a-way party so I think that would be a great time for the kids to introduce themselves (or for us to introduce the kids). I have to tell you that Katie is definitely shy until she gets to know people. I would love for her to link up with some of the other kids at the beginning of the cruise.

(I have to confess that I have no idea of what a "dance dance revolution" is.) :goodvibes

Hygiene 99,

Thanks for posting the link. That's totally new to me. It cetainly looks like fun. I'd be curious to see it work. :earsboy:

I tried it with my neices over Christmas -- they dusted me! But, it is really fun and lots of fun to watch. The kids had a great time. It is really a workout for me and apparently I'm very uncoordinated. :rotfl:
