Does anyone know when the Food and Wine festival will be in 2005? Is it going to be 45 days like last year?

Anyone know when the schedule of chefs dining options becomes available? We are going for a week in October and I want to book our signature lunch/dinners as soon as they are available. I am sure it is a few months away, but want to prepare :sunny: Anyone have suggestions for "not to be missed events?" Any word on the entertainment this year? Last years sounded awesome. We are so excited for this venue! Also, how far in advance can I book the Segway tour? TIA for any tips :teeth:

I don't have a specific date for 2005 yet, but last year, you could begin make reservations for the special Food and Wine Festival events as of July 20. The number is 1-407-WDW-FEST. I haven't tried, but perhaps if you call they can give you the exact date to call back.

To book Segway tours, call 1-407-WDW-TOUR. I don't know if they have a time frame for booking. For the Segway tour a 15% discount will be available for AAA and Disney Vacation Club members, as well as Annual Passholders, Disney VISA cardholders, and Disney Cast Members. A photo ID will be required at the time of the tour.

Thank you for this information! My wife and I are looking forward to our first F&WF. Any opinions on "do not miss" functions?

Last year, DW & I went to the Party for the Senses. It was tiggerific! We also went to the Italian wine school. What a wonderful time! Usually, we tried to do some of the F&WF along with trying to get to the theme parks. This past year, we only concentrated on the F&WF events. We went to many free wine seminars, met several new friends who just happened to be at most of the seminars with us, and really just relaxed and enjoyed the festival. Keep in mind that the extra events are sometimes a little pricey. Hope this helps you with your planning.

Thanks for the advice! It will most certainly help us with our planning. we are really looking forward to doing this!

I highly highly second the recommendation for Party for the Senses! We went last year and had an amazing time! It is such a fun and unique experience, different than anything we've ever done. Also, make sure you have an afternoon or evening just to walk around the world and get food/wine from each of the booths. We did that one afternoon and had such a fun time.

We are also looking forward to wine tasting! My in-laws and BIL (from San Francisco) are joining us for the F&WF - we went wine tasting with my BIL in Napa Valley last August and had a blast (from what I remember! .......... no, just kidding!)

Dumb Question. Went twice to last year's F&WF, but do not know what you speak about when you refer to "Party for the Senses" What is it?

Party for the Senses is wonderful! :) It is every Saturday night in the World Show Place pavilion. Inside the pavilion are tons of chefs and sommliers from some of the top restaurants in the nation. You get a wine glass (that you can keep) and then you go around to each station (as many times as you want) to get food (small appetizer portion) and wine. It lasts for 3 hours. Here is a *much* better review on All Ears: http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/ep/fw04_ps3.htm

Thanks - I think the "party" will now be on this year's Menu for us

After reading that review - same here! I'm assuming that this starts and ends at a specific time?

Sodaseller and Gary - Yes, definitely put the Party on this year's agenda. It is so much fun! The Party starts at 6:30pm and goes until 9pm, just in time for Illuminations. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Will do, though I don't know how I will tell my DD8 that we are going to Disney w/out her.

Awww! Have you ever gone to Disney without her before? I noticed in some of your other posts that you live in Tampa too :) Howdy neighbor (we are in Clearwater)! :flower:

We also went to the Party of the Senses last year for the first time. We had a wonderful time. Make sure you call and book it ahead of time. I believe the price was $95.00 a person but worth every penny! :sunny:

What about people under 21? I did notice a kid's review on allears.net but I'm wondering about taking my 19 yo sister? Beverages other than wine for the non-alcoholic crowd?

Howdy! Gone to La Nouba, but never the "Big D", as she calls it. That may be traumatic, but maybe Grandma can come along and accompany her!
