Geez, if I don't lock the luggage it will pop open, esp when the luggage gorillas get hold of it! Unfortunately it is not the kind you can secure with zip ties. It has the built in flip type locks. Hmmmm I don't think there was a problem last year when we went on the Wonder. Maybe I'll just put a strap around it if I can find one tomorrow. We had them but they were destroyed last time we flew and of course now I remember that we have not replaced them yet... Arrrrrgggghhhhhh!

We actually bought a brand new Samsonite hardsider that has a zipper; we have the hardsider with the flip locks as well. Samsonite insisted that the screners would be able to unlock it. The screeners at the airport insisted it be unlocked ot begin with. Who do you believe? We decided to get a new one instead as I didn't feel the risk of them damaging the lock to open it was worth it.

Still not completely packed here. I guess we are real last minute.

Sam was able to take the day off tomorrow , so he can get his done. He was afraid he wouldn't be able to since he was gone for almost 2 weeks and had only been back in the office 3 days before leaving again.
He will probably be on the phone all day tomorrow, but at least he will be home.

I know I am wayy over packing and just can't help myself.
Stacey- my face is breaking out too, must be stress! looking forward to my manicure and pedicure tomorrow.

I really, really tried to find some new capris. Just nothing. I will be wearing pants, unless I find some in Key West!

I buy capris on purpose so that I don't have to hem my pants! For someone as short as me, there is no such thing as capri's.

We looked at those.. however Mary and I have read posts on the cruise forum of those getting cut off as well. It doesn't surprise me too much, they're usually in a big hurry, so many bags to check, no time to be wasted digging thru a huge keyring. If they're going to cut it off anyhow, a container of 100 psychadelic zip ties for $5.99(or such) is a lot better value. I've packed a handful of them for the way back too.

If you're going to get some, they're in a screwtop lid clear jar, they're all kinds of neon colors.

I found it kind of hard to belive they would like you said take the time to actually open them. They dont have the time to open all the locks. Just cant picture some of those TSA Agents taking time looking for the right key.lol Zip ties are for sure a lot better value. We usually dont lock ours. Dont really know why. I will look for those neon ties, might consider getting them.Mom said she might get them. Thanks for the idea.

I almost forgot...I called the Dolphin people today, since they hadn't answered my e-mails. They told me that they were "just getting ready to e-mail me" and that I would be getting a refund...and that they had "just found out about the cancellations yesterday"!!

Yeah, right.....then how come I knew 3 days ago??? Serves me right, for not booking with Disney. Hope I do get my money back!

I'm waiting for Joe to get home from running erands but I suspect, based on an earlier discussion before he left the house, that we'll get on with the plans we have right now, even if he ends up being a little moody on the trip. As I said before, this is a significant trip for us, and there is nothing to be gained from going to CT -- he'll try to call tomorrow and have his family put the phone to grandma's ear so she can hear him. So it looks like we're still going, keep your fingers crossed -- am I really selfish to feel this way???

No, not at all. Life only goes one way - forward. If she gets thru it or not, you and dh have to go on living your lives, with or without her. A frantic run over there isn't going to change that, and she has family with her so she'll be comfortable. My other grandmother is in her high 90s and beginning to get a bit.. forgetful. But one of my Aunts lives with her so she's ok, and I'll go forward on the cruise not worrying that much about that which we can't change. You just can't, especially with something like this. Hope she does ok thru this.
