:flower1: Good Morning Cruisers! :flower1:

Terrific Tuesday Everyone!

So who else here gets Disney magazine? On page 21 of the Fall issue is the Disney Days calendar of upcoming events. The first item under coming attractions - 12/18 The DISNEY MAGIC sets sail on a 10-night holiday cruise. Hey! That's us! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Mary - I saw that too.... But I was too tired to post last night so you beat me to it.... Oh well....LOL

Hmmmm - I think we need to take a vote to see if we consider garRy adult supervision - for the other adults.... :p :earseek:

I also think we need to buy Stacey a watch for the cruise - and set it 30 minutes ahead - so she'll be there on time.... Of course it was me who was an hour late for the first Whispering Canyon meet....... :o

Finally - my last day in this stretch... get Wed. and Thurs. off - but of course DW is going to a meeting - so I have to get up and get DD off to school. I can't even go back to bed - as they are doing half days Wed. and Thurs. - so I'll have to pick her up at 1130....

Leilani - hope things are going well - noticed I missed your BDay......

Hope that everybody has a GREAT TUESDAY!!!

Virgil

Morning everyone. I'm so glad everyone is back from their vacations and had a great time. Stacey, I am a trip report junkie! My only complaint is that you didn't stay long enough. My very favorite reports are the ones that stay 2 or 3 weeks! The British ones are great, because I get to learn new words too.

We did go to Williamsburg over the weekend. Friday we went to a water park and had a good time. It was drizzling, but never thunder and lightning, so everything was open, and there was hardly anyone there. Saturday we tried touring the historic area, but finally gave up about 2 when the rain started pouring down in sheets. By the time Charley made it up to us, it was just heavy rain. DD really enjoyed the balcony in our hotel. She kept going out there "to see whether Charley had played his hand yet". Finally about 10, she said "Well, Charley just folded. I think he only had a pair of jacks." I have absolutely no idea where she comes up with things like that. We really don't play cards much at all, and I don't think we've ever played poker around her.

The hotel had good things and bad things. Good news was that it had an indoor pool, which was nice when it was pouring rain outside. Bad news was there were 2 very large family reunions going on there. Many, many people wandering room to room, talking in the hallways at all hours, etc. Probably the most annoying was the kid (maybe 8-10 year old) who was driving his RC car around the hallway for at least 4 hours on Saturday evening. He kept ambushing people in the elevator lobby. DS couldn't understand why I wouldn't let him go out and play with the kid. I just said that it's not nice to do things like that. I never saw an adult with this kid. Occasionally, a teenager would come out and torment him, but that was it.

Tina, sending up some prayers for your health issues. I hope things get better.

FILs health issues aren't getting better. He had a seizure early last week. They're still trying to get to the bottom of it, and think it might be medicine imbalances. Thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Stace, wasn't it you who had someone in surgery while you were at WDW? How is he?

Well, that's about it for us. Off to catch up with work! Lisa

Finally! DD is off to school. It's so quiet here. Really quiet.

Lisa, sounds like your DD has been sneaking a look at the Celebrity Poker tour. Too funny.

I've been reading posts on the DVC board, sounds like BWV had a better party than we did at BCV. They were also actually given instructions on what to do during a hurricane, things like stay away from the window (well, I knew that), and don't double-lock your door in case of emergency (well, I didn't know that). I did hear security returning two teen boys to the room next door and telling their parents they had to stay there, in the middle of the storm. Same two that from the sounds of it, were destroying the room the next day. DD looked out when the eye was passing and saw two people in the hot tub. Good thing there wasn't much backlash.

No, Garry, she's over it. She won't run when she sees you next time. I don't think. Where's Vicki? She needs to stop in and say hi!

I really didn't get a look at that bartender. DD usually keeps me informed on these things, but I guess she was busy!

Mary, we didn't get our Disney magazine! I'm going to have to look into that, maybe it expired.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Glad everyone made it home safely from Florida and had a wonderful time. Also happy to hear our Florida friends are all safe.I have a good friend who lives in Celebration and he said they only had minimal damage, lost a couple of roof tiles, and lots of debris, but they didn't even lose power.

Finally heard from the Dr yesterday. Turns out I have a kidney stone. I have actually had several of them before, but it's been about 17 yrs. Don't know why they decided to come back now. I have an appt with a Urologist on Thurs. Passing Kidney stones is not pleasant, so I am certainly NOT looking forward to this. I just hope its over with by Labor day weekend. DH has a soccer tournament in the Poconos in PA and we are supposed to go whitewater rafting.

Spending the next few days working in DD's room. Her new desk came in and we get the computer this week.
Sure wish they didn't have 3 more weeks before school starts.

Stacey, mine will finally be going to the same school again also. I am looking forward to that! Jason is really excited about it, but a little nervous too I think.

Hope everyone has a great day!

:sunny: Good Morning everyone! Rain was forecast, but all I see is sunshine!

I got my Disney Magazine, and I was excited to see "US" listed there, too!

Also a cool article about the Adventurer's Club. Neat to see the building in the daytime. The article will be great for explaining to the people here at home what it was like.

Lisa...I thought the sae thing as Diana...Celebrity Poker. Too funny. DS watches it all the time, even the repeats if Jeff Gordon is playing!
And yes, my brother Mark had surgery the Friday that I was in WDW. He's doing really well. Some pain, but the outcome was much better than what it could have been. In three weeks he should be back to himself. He holds the title of "Super Uncle" in my kids' book. Thank you so much for remembering!

My mom won't even get in to see the Orthopedic surgeon until Oct 12th. Busy guy. So from the sound of it, it looks like I'll be in Omaha in November, rather than the October that I had hoped for. More chance of snow in November...of course that would be my luck. She will be having hip replacement surgery....does anyone have any experience with these? Will it be bad, or easy?

Good point, Virgil.....GaRry in charge of Adult Supervision....:earseek: Maybe YOU should do it! And here we were, worried about our teens running amok!

I was reminded several times that you are the one who takes the "Late To Dinner" title, and that it was not mine to be had!!! LOL
I really do hate being late, I'd like to blame it all on Megan, but she wasn't with us when I was late meeting Diana and LeiLani in Las Vegas! I was on time to meet, Paul, though......(he wasn't...but I was)

Diana...your DD didn't stand a chance at seeing Tall, Dark & Handsome. Megan, Barb & I were blocking the view!!!

Time to throw some clothes on and get to work.

Hi Tina!
So sorry about the kidney stone, never have had one (knock on wood) but have witnessed someone with them......ouch! Good luck! Icky Icky.......

I am really enjoying DH taking the kids in the morning...and it's only been two days! And it was sooo nice to not run to the bus stop twice yesterday afternoon. And I truly am amazed at how these two are actually talking to eachother. It's like they had instant bonding overnight!
Jason & Jared are the same age, aren't they? I think they are our only two boys that age, in this group.

I will be tearing apart several rooms in the next couple of days.
We have a mouse in the house, and it's not Mickey!

NOW, Mary, is when I HATE living out here!!! I can handle floods, fires, power outages, snakes.....but I do NOT like a MOUSE in my HOUSE! And it is making nest, which means more mouses.
Found a roll of paper towel torn up under the kitchen sink. Then DH discovered a nest in the making....of all places...on the fireplace mantel in MY bedroom, behind some pictures that I have on the mantel. He couldn't figure out where the "threads" for the nest came from. I took one look, and knew....we have a rug by the door that goes out to the pool.....one half of which is now completely bare of its fringe. Totally gives me the willies to think that creature is in my room nibbling away, and I didn't even know it.

Anyway....have a nice day everyone.......will do my mouse hunt after I get back from work. First things first, I guess.

Stacey

Tina,
Yuck, a kidney stone. They are not fun. Haven't ever had one, but know people who have. By any chance, do you drink dark sodas? (coke, pepsi, etc) My FIL gets kidney stones a lot and he must avoid all dark sodas. Something about them triggers them. He's fine with clear sodas (Sprite, etc)

Update on Maggie. I'm not going to kill her. She's doing much better adjusting to us and the house. She's over her diarrhea which was causing all of those nasty nighttime accidents. She will pee in her crate but when she wakes up, she has to go NOW....and by the time I grab a sweatshirt and run down, she's already gone. This is every 3 hours or so, which the vet reassured me yesterday is all she can go. So some of the frustration was in me expecting her to go longer than she was capable of going. Guess with all the problems I just needed to hear someone say "this is normal."

My parents are coming down this evening to meet her. My dad is a huge dog lover and hasn't had one in just over a year (no way he can replace the dog that died so he's hesitated getting another) I can already picture him on the floor letting this puppy crawl all over him. :)

Life has been hectic. We're doing school full blast. Puppy is keeping us busy. And at SOME point I need to prime and paint our master bath so we can have our contractor come finish it (he's waiting for us to do our part) I've been lurking on the thread here and there, just not a lot of time to post.

Stacey, I also cannot stand the idea of a mouse being in the house. Luckily our cat is a great mouser and although he's outdoors he usually stops them before they get in.....or at least they stay in the basement, which I don't have as much of a problem with. Good luck getting rid of it.

Virgil, enjoy your days off. You've been working very hard! :)

From MY point of view, I'm glad that my DD didn't see all that and get corrupted by the search for dark, dark and MUCH older! Lord knows we'll have enough trouble just keeping a handle on the "hotties" her own age. :earseek:

Definitely going to have to keep my eye on you guys, man-o-man!!

Tina - sorry to hear about the kidney stone. Had one a couple of years ago and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy!

OM - glad to hear Maggie is doing better.

Doc - enjoy your days off - you deserve them.

Stacey - yuck on the mouse. We had one a couple of years ago. Not fun!

Well back to work I go. Have a great rest of the day everyone!

Uh oh, falling down the page.

First day of 8th grade today for DD. Seems to have been a success. She even thinks she might like the elective that she didn't have on her list and absolutely didn't want to take.

Mouse Update.....
Haven't found it....there has to be a nest somewhere, but I'm not sticking my hands into places I can't see, but that a mouse could fit into.
Thanks, GaRry...but DH has his own footlocker, and YUCK! Bad idea! I'll set traps, thank you!
Although, my picture of you with your green hair just might actually do the trick! Scared the beejeebers out of Jordan!

OM.....good to hear abut Maggie. I understand about your dad...my mom loves to visit the grandpuppy. And I can't possibly get another cat, although I'm sure that's why we now have the mouse. I just can't replace my Spice.

Tinksdad......we were doing you a great favor by blocking DD's view! It's a service I am willing to offer to all parents of teen girls!

Good News.....the fire is most likely out! Been raining in the mountains all afternoon. Just hope there's not too much run-off, or we will get flooded in. If it's not one thing, it's another.

Off to the bus stop....back after dinner. Good evening everyone!

Stacey

:Pinkbounc We should be somewhere near the top of page 553 by now!

We will get to GaRry's 10,000 if I have to replace the Fluff Queen myself! Lynda....where are you???
