Good morning everyone!

Welcome back Stacey - we missed you! That is pretty cool that you will be at Disneyland while we are at Disney World. We have the two US parks covered!

My favorite quiet spot at the Grand Californian is the outdoor fireplace. I don't think a lot of people know that it is there. When we stayed there I was so sick and just want to sit and read and the fireplace was a great place to do it.

Have a wonderful time. Do Soarin' for me - one of my all time favorite rides!

Boy it's been quiet on this thread lately. Gail, we're hoping for a DD update today. I've been praying for her!

Stacey, welcome back. Boy you do have some scary animals out there. Mountain lions! DS and his buddy swore they saw a cougar on their Washington State hike. They were playing a bit away from the campsite, came back and told the dads that they had seen a cougar. By the time the dads went to check it was gone. Not sure if it really was, but too close for mom's comfort!

Vicki, how was DD's trip to New York? I'd ask GaRry, but I probably couldn't understand his answer (just teasing GaRry! You know I love your posts. Especially all the offers of smelt!)

This week is spirit week at DD's school. Yesterday was hat day, today is mismatch day. Boy the outfits she comes up with! Tomorrow is crazy hair day. Can't wait for that. Friday is pajama day and they're having a pajama dance. The note already defined what's an acceptable pj to wear, and says that kids will be sent home and not allowed back to the dance if they don't comply. Middle schoolers these days just seem so much older!!!! DD is wearing a silky pair of PJs I just got from Land's End clearance. They are very pretty (and modest) so I'm happy with her choice. She wanted to wear one that was a tank top w/ shorts and I said no cause it was too thin.

Good Morning everyone.

DD was such a ggod girl yesterday. The procedure went well. Her colon had no inflammation and they took lots of biopsys. Her esophagus was inflamed and I never asked the doctor if they took a biopsy of that. I hope that she did. The biopsy takes 5 days to come back. Now we have to wait. We are so glad it is all over with and will wait for the results. Thank you everyone for all of your thoughts and prayers.
Time to really be serious about the diet and exercise. With all that has been going on the pounds have been coming on. Today starts the diet and back to the gym!!!! I need to fit into the bathing suits I bought for this summer and for our trips.

Mary and Stacey have a wonderful trip.

Vicki, How was DD trip to NYC????

I wonder where twobellsmom has been??? I am going to e mail them this week.

I can not believe that we booked this cruise a year ago in June!!!!

Looks like another pretty day here!

Auuugh - cicadas. Stace, you described them right. Ugly, shedding their scales everywhere, loud buzzing noises, hanging on porches, patio furniture, kids' playgrounds, cars, walkways.....you get the idea. Not a pretty sight. The Washington Post even has a live "Cicada Cam", if you can believe it. It's big news out here - the entomologist world's Super Bowl. They're called "Brood X" - don't know why.

We are on CC and lovin' it...
Cash went snorkeling this morning...says water tastes nasty....was a little intimidated by HUGENESS......

On 14th a Storm Trooper stomped big plastic feet at Cash and a few people complained....This is after one of the Country Bears chased him for several feet....THAT one went to management......

Within ten minutes of entering parks made at least a thousand new friends...Pixie dust is flying.....He is having a GREAT time, the ham....
Will be home soon to regain role of fluff queen....

Have met many Dis-ers on the trip...Had drinks with Deb Wills.....

Gotta sign up for 14-day cruise soon...What day is this, anyway?

So glad you're having fun, and good to "see" your voice!

Lisa, last week was Jordan's Spirit Week....you should have seen the look on DH's face when she started out the front door in PJ's!!! Wish I'd had a camera! She had been dressing stupid all week, and he doesn't notice until Friday, when she's wearing (Pooh Bear) pajamas! So clueless!

Five more sleeps, and we're off to the Mouse House! I almost made a packing list last night, but reminded myself that I wasn't going to do that. Just gonna wing it. I have been setting things out, though.

Okay, Miss Charlotte wants a fresh map of the parks, anyone else need anything? A picture of me on TOT, screaming my head off?

Mary, DH's favorite spot is out by the fireplace at GC. I have already decided that if it's too hot, I will either be in the pool, or repeatedly getting in line for Soarin' Over California, my definite favorite at CA. I can smell it now!

We go on Soarin' over and over and over. We get in the single rider line (all 3 of us) and half the time 1 or 2 of us end up in the same ride!

Love the front row, can't see the other people's feet that way. I can smell the ride now!

LOL I make my DH mad every time, because I will wait and let other people ahead of us, just so that we can sit in the front row! But I think he's secretly glad, because he always tells people that the front row is the best!

I looked and looked for Lynda and Cash at Star Wars Weekend. That StormTrooper is lucky I didn't see him! I so wanted to meet Cash - oops, I mean Lynda
Hope everyone is having a nice evening. It's just gorgeous here - beautiful breeze. I'm sitting on our screened porch which we affectionately call "the veranda". The kids claim I'm nuts, but it makes waiting for the real veranda a little easier.

Stingfancb.......I am sooo jealous! Your "veranda" sounds wonderful! Too hot here to sit outside. I went out there once today, that was enough for me. (joking!)

Thank you, I am not the only one. We call our screen porch "the verandah" too! It will get too hot/humid eventually, but we do have a ceiling fan out there. It is nice to have coffee out there early in the morning or sit in the evening without bugs.

Our screen porch is in the front of the house. I don't know why, we never use it. I guess it's a filter for the bugs.

The entire back of the house has a covered patio with fans. One area has the pool, the other is Molly's yard, and then our area with table & chairs and BBQ. I wish it were screened in. I always get bugs in my morning coffee!!!
It's nice out there at night, though. Nothing behind us but mountains, so we take the telescope out and look at the stars.

Did I mention that we leave for Disneyland in just four and a half more days??? Okay, I'll shut up. I know most of you are NOT impressed......WDW is closer for you, and much more impressive.
I just looked at the weather there....Sunday & Monday are only supposed to be in the low 70's. Yippee!!!!! Hope it stays that way.

Off to DD's dance, and our weekly pizza night. Back later,

Ahhh I wish I was packing for a cruise instead of the Dairy State.... At least I get a couple days at WDW on the way back as a reward.
Stacey: I believe I remember the GC having data ports... for dial up as well as a high speed connection that you could pay for per day. Go get that laptop...
Lynda & Cash: Great to hear from you! Those Country Bears should be ashamed of themselves! And they are usually so well behaved. Poor Cash... he should have taken a bite out of their leg. Or you should have...LOL
Can't wait to hear how Cash did on the cruise. Did he get his massage??
