Morning all! Going to try this again!

Lisa - Sorry I didn't know you were planning a shopping trip! Bummer! I could use a good shopping-therapy day! Hope you have a great time at Tysons Corner -- spend some $$ for me!

Actually couldn't have gone anyway - we're leaving this morning to take our two DS to Gettysburg, PA for the battle reenactment weekend. Have never done it - our oldest DS is beside himself with excitement! Big time into Civil War history right now. As long as the rain holds off, should have a good weekend. Eating dinner tonight in one of the original Gettysburg houses (now restaurant) that has over 100 bullet holes in the walls from back then and supposedly ghosts! Ooooooh goodie, scare the kiddies before we try to put them to sleep - always a good idea! Then we're heading to Hersheypark for the 4th of July! Mary - I'm looking for pins again!

Stace, LeiLani and Diana - Hope you have a wonderfully fun time in Vegas! Don't forget to take pictures!

Have a good 4th everyone!

Happy Friday Everyone!

Busy day today trying to finish packing for our trip to Texas tomorrow. I never seem to be as organized as I think I am.

I am so excited I just made our final payment for the cruise today!!! Hoping this might up our chances of switching suites. Flights are booked so I guess we are all set. Just have to decide about transportation and the night before. Currently we have ressies at the Radisson, but are tying to figure out what is best trasportation wise since we will be going to WDW for 3 nights after cruise. What is everyone else doing??

Lisa, sure hope I am able to make it to Tysons. I will do the best I can.

Have a great day!

Good Morning everyone.

STACEY, DIANA, LEILANI, DAVID, MARY AND VICKY I E MAILED YOU ALL AND I THINK I ALSO PM STACEY AS WELL. I MIGHT HAVE PM VICKI ALSO.

I wanted to let you all know that the brunch for the last day of sea has been filled via e mails I got yesterday as there are few seats. If ANYONE is intrested in taking one or both of the other brunch days please e mail me or pm me. They can only hold this for another week and than the private room which holds 14 will be released to another group that is waiting. You would be responsible for payment on the 14 which is $10.00pp plus gratuity and you would be the contact person. IF ANYONE IS INTRESTED PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP AS I WILL RELEASE THESE NEXT FRIDAY JULY 9TH.

IF you are intrested in doing the brunch the same day as us on the last day at sea - you can make the reservation once you are on the boat and request to be seated outside the private room. I was infromed there are tables right outside the room and we could all be somewhat together.

PLEASE understand I did the best that I could to make this work and this is what was offered to be with no expections. I took first come e mails that requested this brunch. I do not want to hurt anyones feelings but this is all I could do and I received a lot of e mails yesterday.
If you are intrested in the other sea days let me know or PLEASE come join us and make the reservation when you get on the boat and ask to sit near the private room. OFF to Work I Go.

Have a great day all-Gail

Gail-you are great for doing all this work! Thanks for your efforts!

Okay, I guess I need to take the 10 minutes and type my answers to the questions, I've just been sooooo busy I haven't had time to stop. (Besides, my answers are lengthy.....

Who will you be cruising with?

Robert (DH) 54
Linda (Seaulater) 29.........okay....45
Jamie (DD of Robert and Linda)-12, but she thinks she's 18
Sheri-(DD of Robert, stepdaughter of Linda)-30
Brad-(Sheri's DH)-32
Breann-(DD of Sheri and Brad)-5 at time of cruise
Nicholas-(DS of Sheri and Brad)-2 at time of cruise
Mary-DD #2 of Robert, stepdaughter of Linda)-29
Rod-(Mary's DH)-31
Olivia-(DD of Mary and Rod)-3-1/2 yrs. at time of cruise
Porter-(DS of Mary and Rod)-almost 2 at time of cruise
Rob-(DS of Robert and stepson of Linda)-25
Jessica-(DW of Rob)-23
Thank goodness, no children for them. I warned everyone no pregnancies, adoptions or anything this year if they wanted to cruise!
(Good thing I have the ol' Franklin Planner to help me with all of these dates!)

What are you looking forward to the most? Having my DH spend his first Christmas Day with his 3 kids since he was divorced from 1st wife in 1987.

Where do you live? Well, we live in Salt Lake City. The #1 daughter lives in a place called Ephraim, Utah which is about 2 hours southeast of Salt Lake. The others live in St. George, Utah, which is in the southern most part of the state (and just about 1-1/2 hours before Vegas if driving the interstate). Salt Lake to St. George about 3 1/2 hours drive time.

When did you book this cruise? Well, I personally booked the cruise for everyone on December 18th when no one ever told me what they wanted for Christmas. Then I surprised everyone by giving them their Christmas gift (in January) by having to unscramble letters from an envelope. Each envelope had a date and what was happening that day on the ship (i.e. AT SEA, CASTAWAY CAY, ANTIGUA). Then they were all put up in order on the wall and then I gave them each an envelope with their stateroom assignment, and a picture of the ship with the itinerary (thanks to Mary, I cut and pasted from her website to come up with it) and they opened the envelopes and ta-da found out what their present was. They about fell on the floor! Then on Jan. 18, I converted the DH, me and Jamie's reservation to DVC points so the DH didn't freak about the cost. To this day, he still hasn't asked what this is costing, and I haven't told.

Why did you pick this cruise? Well, I love Disney cruises and my DH has always said that he never gets Christmas. Ever since the divorce in '87 the kids always had to spend Christmas with their mother (or she'd be alone-playing the sympathy card with the kids) or once they were married they started alternating between in-laws and mother. DH said numerous times over the last 13 years, why do I never get Christmas (to me, not to kids). So I figured, what better way to have the kids spend Christmas with their dad. So of course, about the first thing out of their mouths was "It's mom's Christmas for 2004"..........after a few minutes of deliberations (or should I say more like seconds)......they finally figured it out....."Who says mom gets Christmas every other year anyway?" and "Who made the rule that we alternated?" and "Dad has never had Christmas with us."........I told kids they would need to decide, but that was our present to them....a Disney Christmas Cruise for 2004. Of course, kids had no problem deciding, they broke the news to mom that day that they weren't spending Christmas 2004 with her. She was upset, but I think she is over it by now. The kids told her they would buy her an airplane ticket to Oklahoma and she could go to her brother's for Christmas. (We will see what happens there.) DH said, well you know, she is getting better, maybe she could come and stay with Rob and Jess in their stateroom. I said "Over my dead body." We are paying for this cruise and I am not going to share with her and I am not going to be watching over my shoulder the whole 10 days. This is HIS CHRISTMAS with HIS KIDS!

Anyway, that's my long story. I personally can't wait to see all the Christmas decorations on the ship, meet all my new Dis friends, and make a gingerbread house with the grandkids (hopefully they will still have this activity).

See......I told you I had a long story here!

Linda

:wave2: (We need someone to create a smilie with Christmas decorations or something and I am computer illiterate)

What an active thread. I'm going to have to make a note in my PDA what page I last read so I can keep up with all you posters!!

Here's our story and I'm sticking to it...

Who will be cruising with you in December?
DH Walt (older than me :-), Me (41), DSs Nathan & Scott (13)

What are you looking forward to the most?
10 days on the ship with just our family and 2400 new friends.

Where do you live (city, state, country)?
Dexter, MI USA - 15 minutes west of Ann Arbor. For those of you not familiar with the 'ol Maize and Blue...about 45 minutes west of Detroit.

When did you book this cruise?
The day we could. We had DU keep us on the list to call when they could book for us.

Why did you pick this cruise?
DH is a teacher so our three Disney trips have all been over the Christmas holiday break. Last time we did the land/sea with a 4-day cruise and it was wonderful. Since even years are our Disney years, God must have wanted us to take the 10-day crusie!

Can't wait!

sorry i forgot to do this last night...didn't forget...i zonked out

GOOD FINALLY FRIDAY MORNING CHRISTMAS CRUISERS!!!!!!!

On the run this morning..and it's already late. Off to work to see what awaits me.

I just love reading about everyone....thanks Mary, for asking that question!

Linda....at least my DH will have someone his own age to talk to....your DH...LOL!!!! I am so glad that he had not been married before. The cost of the cruise would be astronomical!!

Anyway...back later to talk ( and NOT whine!)....have a great day.

Besides....today I am HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Stacey

P.S. Paul....I could not fire our Cabana Boy....I just know you're going to surprise us and show up in Las Vegas!!!

3 DAYS ....LADIES DIS MEET IN LAS VEGAS!

Stacey - I sent a reply to your morning e-mail.

I'm having a bad day at work, but still so happy :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :

 Okay Mary....these bad days at work have got to STOP! What should we do?? I know what you mean, though...I don't think anything will be able to get me down!!!:Pinkbounc

Well work is over and I've got 3 days off!

Lots of fun planning for the cruise. I'm going to get the newsletter up this weekend. I'm in the mood to cruise!:D

Oh, we are VERY familiar with that area. Our family bleeds scarlet and grey (the DIS doesn't give you a grey color choice)

I truly hope you do NOT meet up with my dd during this cruise. I'm afraid what might just come blurting out of her mouth about the "state up north" ;)

"Oh, we are VERY familiar with that area. Our family bleeds scarlet and grey (the DIS doesn't give you a grey color choice)"

LOL here in Miiiichigan land! Them's fighting words here. We'd better keep your DD away from DS#1....he's our big sports fan. No worries since most of our conversations don't start with "go Blue"

DH grew up parking cars for the games on Saturday as he lived 2 blocks from Michigan stadium.

DH and I are always at the Michigan vs Ohio State game at the end of the year. Always a good game, especially when it comes out the right way.

(can't get a gold font either) Nothing like a good spirited rivalry!

Scarlet and grey what? Are we talking about the Civil War?

Mary and Stacey, you can try what I did, retire (relatively) young. Unfortunately, it means less money, and less Disney. Good thing I had saved the money before this happened. Now the only stress is worrying about money!

Lynda, you are a good wife. My DH has two grown boys from a first marriage, and one grandbaby. When they turned 18, their mother moved away. Well, they followed her! We haven't seen them in about 1 1/2 years. I wish we could afford to take them on a cruise with us.

:wave2: HI there!!!! 2 DAYS...12 HOURS!!!!!

Diana....I wish I could retire....and we have been seriously thinking about it.....but it's a little harder to do when you're the owner. DH would definitely not want to hire someone else to do his books. And I'm not sure I'd trust anyone else, either. Too bad we still have kids in school......I'd be on a beach somewhere, that's for sure.

What I'd like to know is why you can't spank your employees....if they're going to act like children, they should get treated like children! (I'm laughing....I'm picturing a WalMart employee turned over someone's knee....) Sometimes I amaze even myself at the stupid things I think of.

Problems aren't solved at work, by any means, but I feel better. It's the weekend.....and a fun one....and I get four days off with the girls next week!!!:hyper:

Anyway...I'm headed for bed....hope everyone has a great day tomorrow. I'll be packing, doing laundry, taking DS to the B-day party, and then watching the first of our two fireworks shows.

GOOD SATURDAY MORNING CHRISTMAS CRUISERS!!! ANOTHER WEEK GONE, ANOTHER WEEK CLOSER!

Good night,
Stacey

Good morning Cruisers!
We sail in 24 weeks!

A very happy Saturday morning to everyone.

Diana - I wish I could retire but that would mean giving up so much. We've gotten used to traveling etc. and there is no way I'd want to give that up. So off to work I go! It isn't that bad - some days worse than others of course.

The pay-off is when I get to spend 10 wonderful days cruising the Caribbean with all my DIS friends!

Well off to read the rest of the boards. I'm going to work on the newsletter today and hopefully get it posted by tonight.

Have a great day everyone!

GOLD font? GOLD font? Come ON!! What kind of fan are you? even *I* know you needed a "maize" font ;)

Let me tell you a story....one time on a boat from the MK to WL (or vice versa) there was an older gentleman about three rows up from us wearing a "state up north" jacket. We're sailing along and then I hear a child singing in a soft voice "we don't give a darn for the whole state of Michigan...." then another child joins in and it gets louder..."the whole state of Michigan...." then they both get louder "the whole state of Michigan...." "we don't give a darn for the whole state of Michigan cuz we're from O-HI-O!!!!"

The guy turned around and smiled. I sheepishly said "go bucks!" :) He just laughed as if he understood.
