Good afternoon everyone! 
I am totally exhausted!
After 3 disconnects and a total of 2 1/2 hours on hold..... I GOT IT! We are repositioning to LA in May 05!! In my excitement I completely forgot to write down the stateroom number... somewhere in steerage ... but WE ARE ON THE SHIP!!!
Whew! Now I have to keep up with 2 threads...
Looks like some others are going as well... do we need a thread for hopelessly addicted extended Disney Cruisers?
Now I have to find a dog sitter... kenneling 4 dogs for that long is going to be more expensive than the cruise! Anyone want to housesit in Orlando for a couple of weeks??

House sit in Orlando?? Let's see.......that doesn't sound like work to me....... I WISH!I've been thinking all afternoon that I must be nuts. I HATE waiting for anything. Christmas is the worst, and NOW look what I went and did! And I have to decide if we want to go to DL first. Yikes! That's another lotta time away! Not to mention the $$. And the amount of clothing. But it IS Disneyland's 50th, and it should be pretty special..........now I know I'm nuts. Talking to myself again.
Was thinking about the Disneyland packing again....I'm not planning. I'm just going to pull out the bags and start throwing in shorts & t-shirts. How do you think that will turn out??
I need to go lay down. Planning vacations is just too much stress.

Congrats to all on the repositioning and west coast cruises. I'm sure you'll have a great time!!!
Crazy girl scout night last night. Hope you all don't mind if I vent. Linda, you might be used to this.
Our leader has a combined Junior/Senior troop. I think there are only 2 girls (one is her DD) in the senior troop, but the seniors were supposed to be doing a lot of activities with the juniors. That just really hasn't happened. This leader has had a number of personal crises this year (they really were crisises, not just exaggerated), anyway, I think the girls have earned a whopping one badge and one sign this year.
Last week, DH said that the leader called Tuesday to see if I was home. I was in Texas. She then called back about an hour later to cancel the meeting since she couldn't make it, and no one else could/would cover it (we have about 12 girls in juniors, NO ONE could cover it???). This Tuesday I got another call that she couldn't make it, could I run the meeting? I said yes. Then she said that she hadn't started anything on the cadette bridging (we have 4 girls crossing over), and could I work on that? Oh, and how's the bronze award planning going? Oh, and you are going on the campout to Assateague Island right? and so on and so on. Arghhhhhh I feel like I'm really running the troop! Anyway, I ended up with the girls planning the bridging and the bronze award while another mom played games with the younger girls. I'm truly amazed that my DD still really wants to go on to cadettes. Of course, she is pushing me hard to be the troop leader for her (DH says absolutely not!), so maybe she really does see what a waste this year has been.
Okay, rant over. Off to a meeting.

I am having a real hard time with this computer as it has not been fixed yet!!! I can hardly type.
Lisa, sorry to hear about the GS problems. They really want me to be the brownie leader for 2nd grade next year. Our leader now who I have helped this year is moving up with her older daughter. NO ONE else is coming to the plate to do this with me. I will not take this on by myself with 15-20 girls. We were talking about putting the grades 1 and 2 together. Than I would do it as there are three leaders doing grade 1 and we could share the responsibilities. I see how much work it is.
I am so involved with the PTA and SEPTA that I do not want to spread myself to thin. I am chairing the ladies night out Spring Fling next April which is a huge undertaking. I am also a council delgate for Elementary Edu through SEPTA(Special Education Parent Teacher ***.) Amoung other things that I volunteer for.
I feel for you.
As for DD update we have a doctors appointment at 11:00am. She is still not feeling well. DD has been home from school. The re-testing came back negative. They are going to schedule an endoscope, colonoscopy, baruim tests and more blood work. I feel so bad and upset about this whole process. I was hoping that she could have an MRI with ganyolenium to detect what is going on. That is a new less invasive procedure but it is fairly new and more research is being done on it. Today is going to be a long day.
DS has also been sick this week with Sinus infection, Allgeries and Ashtma.
We have not gotton much sleep here between the two children.
I would love to do the Calif-Fla 14 day DC but DH can not take off at that time and the CAT 6,5,or4 are a lot of $$$ eventhough not that much more than the 7 day Mexican Riveria. I also can not squeeze the deposit at this point as we have other expenses and the 10 day to pay for. If DC ever puts a third ship there and they do a 3 or 4 nighter I would love to do a land and sea package. Even Alaska would be wonderful on the DCL. It is nice to dream.
The house is coming along. I now have a working kitchen. Yeah!!!!!
You all that are going are going to have a super time.

Gail....great news on the kitchen! Sorry the kids are not feeling well. I have been really praying for your DD. I've been in her shoes for years, but I'm not a little girl, I feel so bad for her. You are better off that they are going to go ahead and do the testing. My gastro doc told me that even if we did the "virtual" colonoscopy, the chances are very high that they would end up doing the actual one anyway, so best to just do it, and get it over with. Sending many, many good wishes.
Lisa....I can relate....when my oldest DD was in Brownies, Jordan was a baby, Jared on the way....the Troop leader was pregnant with her 5th....(she delivered at home..one of those type gals) anyway, she had an assistant who was also pregnant (something in the water, maybe) they were both gone all the time....so I would take over. I loved it, had a great time, the girls earned a lot of badges (really earned them, too....)
When the end of the year came, the were moving up to Girl Scouts, big party, etc etc....the Leader got up and was all gushy, telling the parents how much she appreciated their support, blah blah blah......then she says "And I definitely could not have done it without the help of......LAURIE.....(the other Mom who was never there!) Not ONE mention of ME!!! And I had to sit there and stay late every time with her 2 DD's waiting for her hubby to finally come get them!
Needless to say, that was the last time I helped with scouting.
Not true, I did help with Jordan's Brownies, but her leader was a really good friend. End of my rant.
Anyway.....heading for my office so I don't get fired. I actually did get alot done here, yesterday. Really.

Okay, I think I have officially changed my name to Seaulater, so I will probably start posting using that instead of the LNEELEY one. So when you see that, it's ME.....I'll check my LNEELEY occassionally in case anyone PM's me. Now, I just have to start over and get a hundred posts so I can be a Dis Veteran again.
Lisa-totally understand your frustration. That's the challenge with an all volunteer organization. Some adults don't just get it. But, it people like you and Gail, that make this organization thrive and that truly make a difference in a girl's life. I can't tell you how many times in the 7 years I've been here where I have heard a young woman come back and say that Girl Scouting helped her make correct decisions in her life and has helped her become a successful woman! You touch the lives of girls in so many ways that you don't even realize, it will come back to you later hundred fold!
Okay, I am off my soapbox.
Today should be less stressful! Disney better not do something like this ever again. I bet half of their CM's called in sick today from having a breakdown after yesterday!

Gail - Sure hope your children will be better soon - it's so hard when it's our kids.
Lisa - Don't get me started on parents that have no clue how much time/energy is put in by the volunteer parents to head up these groups (Scouts, baseball, etc.) What's been an eye-opener for us is how little some of the parents really seem to care about helping even in the tiniest bit - like bringing snacks to a game. It's as if they can't be bothered......but we'd better do what it takes to have a great team and wonderful time for their child! Auuugh.

Hi everyone.
I just went on line to see the prices for the Calif cruises. I can not belive how much they have gone up in a 24 hour period. I wonder if they will go back down once others cancel in the next week??? Well I am dreaming of going but it is only in my dreams. I hope someday. I will live through all of you that are going.
DD had her doctor's appointment today. She is going to have the testing done on Monday 5/17. I am glad it is on a Monday as it is a two day prep for children her age. She will only have to miss one day of school. It is going to be a very long and hard weekend next weekend as she can not have any food only clear liquids for 48 prior. I will be glad when this is all over. Thank you all for listening to me. I appreciate your support.
