20040613--Hersheypark meet, 1st or 2nd week of August 2004 -- feeler--INDEXED

Count us in..we go there a few times over the summer. Only being about an hour south of there makes it convenient.....and those coming, bring an extra set of clothes, there are a few good water rides....

News flash!

I might be at Clementon on Sunday, June 6. I think I will fly into Philly and head over there as soon as I land. I hope I can make it to Williams Grove to ride the two coasters there in the evening. I don't see me doing Clementon for more than a few hours.

You're not kidding! The last time we were there we decided to give the raft rapids-type water ride a go (after MUCH coaxing from the boys) expecting it to be like Kennywood's raging rapids...you will definitely get a bit wet, maybe a lot wet depending on where you are sitting. HA! I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise for anyone who hasn't been on it, but one word will suffice...WATERFALLS!

Not only did I think I may possibly drown, but several hours later I could still squeeze a cup of water out of my underwear! I walked around the park for the rest of the evening (yes, it was already dark when we went on  No wonder there wasn't any line!) with my tennies squishing with every step! The boys LOVED it!

I packed extra socks & clothes (shorts for DH I think) knowing we would probably go on at least one water ride. We did go on Canyon River Rapids very early and got soaked! So did our backpack and almost everything inside. (Note: put change of clothes in plastic bags, there is no storage on the ride like Kali's rafts). It asn't a really hot day so we were wet for the remainder of the day. I was smart enought not to wear denim ;), but wish I'd had enough sense to bring clothes and at least leave them in the car.

I rode Roller Soaker with a poncho and I came up relatively dry. My legs were wet, but I had my Tevas on. I'm not sure if I'd ride it again -- it's a long wait for a short ride! I'd rather ride Lightning Racer! :)

:smooth:

I don't know why we never put the bag in a locker. We were probably expecting a storage bin either on the raft or at the landing to keep our things, but alas, no such area. Lesson learned.

Count us in. We've always wanted to go to Hershey Park and never made it. Now we have a reason to go.

I was thinking...is anyone interested in doing Dutch Wonderland the Friday before Hersheypark? I think you can buy a combo ticket for both parks. If you have kids, this is a good park to go to. And they have 2 coasters! :) If anyone is interested, we can make up a video and use Weird Al Yankovic's "Amish Paradise" as the music.

I agree........Dutch Wonderland is a wonderful place for kids. We brought the kids when they were younger, and they liked it better than Hershey. I haven't been there for quite a few years, and don't know if they have stuff now for teens or not.

I'd love to do Dutch Wonderland also Barry. I won't know though until closer to that time. That might be the last day of school for Chris.

We can move Dutch Wonderland to Monday if necessary. When does school end for everyone else?

Which Monday are you referring to for Dutch Wonderland...Monday before or after Hershey Park? We won't be able to make the Saturday meet for Hershey Park. I'll be 8 months pregnant and really don't feel like handling weekend crowds at that time, especially with 2-yo and 4-yo boys. We'll be down in the Hershey area, though, at the beginning of the week...

I'm talking about the week after Hersheypark. I'm not too crazy about going to Hersheypark on Saturday, but it seems a lot of people can make it then.

New update!

due to some unforeseen circumstances, I might need to change the date to sometime in July. Stay tuned...

Actually, another weekend would be better for us too, since DD has her 8th grade class trip to Hershey and returns on Friday the 11th of June late. I don't know if she wants to go right back, and if we camp, we would want to get there on Friday evening. Keep us posted for any plan changes
thanks
Elaine
