2004 Food and Wine Festival Events (long)

I think I'll wing the attire based on the weather. Late Octobr here is unpredictable. Sounds like nice pants and a top will be fine for the evening. I just wanted to be sure I didn't need to wear a cocktail dress. Which would have been fine too if that is what everyone else is wearing, but I'd like to avoid heels if possible. Thanks!

Wow, this was really nice of you to go to all that work. Can't wait to sit and talk it over with my husband and see what he wants to do first. Ha.

Sorry if this is dumb question, but DH and I are going for the first time. Do you have to buy tickets???

If we have never been to a F&W event before and only plan on going to one, would you say Party for the Senses is the one to go to? It seems like it would be. Worth the money (including a typical disney markup on prices)? ie - if it is something worth $70 outside of WDW then it is probably worth $95 at WDW.
Thanks
Jean

For a first-timer I'd highly recommend the Party of the Senses. There's lots of different kinds of foods and wines (and even beer last year), entertainment while you're eating. It's great! We're looking forward to it again.

I Have done the fest since 2000 and have loved it, the stuff during the day is ok for kids! They had Nestle tollhouse cookies there last year. All you are doing is walking, eating and drinking around the worldshowcase. BUT if you plan on taking in some of the FREE seminars that give you a goog bit of FREE alcohol that go off about every hour in 2 locations, leave the kids home. It really is an adult trip. At night i strongly recommed putting them in neverland. I have never seen a child at the party of the senses and have done it 3 times. All the special events that are extra are over 21 and they strongly enforce the law. The party for the senses is so worth the money! You get to try stuff that is very expensive to buy, last year they had the sam Adams utopia, a beer that costs 125 per bottle! My DH was very happy. They had expensive Skotches there that my father loved! I have worn a skirt and dressy tank, sundress and sandals, and Hubby has worn Polo shirts with kakis, shirt and ties and dress pants. I have seen people in cocktail dresses and suits. But it is hot and i have been there on Halloween when it was in the 80's! Enjoy and see you there!

do not wear high heels to the Party for the Senses. You may end up standing for most of it.

Thanks so much for posting. I've got my week filled with the events we want to attend!!!! I'm sooooo excited, DH and I really enjoy the Wine and Food Fest. Can anyone remind me of the best number to call to make the ressies. Last year, I called what I thought was the correct number....got put on hold, then the cm tried to transfer me......long story short, 45 minutes later I finally talked to the right person and many events were already sold out. This year I want to make sure I have the correct number !:D

My newsletter says to call 1-407-WDW-FEST. It's going to be a busy morning on the phones. I hope we can all get the event we want! (Keeping my fingers crossed.!)

wdw_dine_junkie, Thanks for the number, my fingers are already twitching in anticipation of punching in the number. :D Pixie Dust for everyone trying for events.
