2003 Maintenance Fees Rumor

Heard today from a DVC resale agent, seems like a good source. I only got dues for OKW and BWV, since that's where I'm looking to buy another contract. Should have asked for BCV, we own there too. The increase seems pretty large, I figure 8% for OKW! New amounts will be: $4.10 for BWV; $3.49 for OKW. Diana

I wouldn't be too concerned yet. I have no idea how a non-DVC person would have any idea what the 2003 budget for the resorts will be. They may have the facts, but they might not.

I'd be surprised to see dues go up 8% in one year. What would be the basis?

The meeting notices & budget should be out in the next couple of weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if a resaler has a DVC contact who gave them a "heads up". I would expect insurance costs to be way up. I work for an insurance company and we are looking at 20% increases for average businesses. Disney would fall into the "trophy property" category in regards to terrorism and would be looking at a big increase. Probably increased security costs are also being passed on. It will be interesting to see which categories in the budget have big increases.
