From the review:

The dedicated Li-ion battery BP-21 is used to power the zooming and AF operation. This battery is built in the lens barrel. For the convenience of the photographer, focusing distances and focal lengths can be viewed on the lens`s built-in LCD panel.

I thought it was a hoax until I found it on the Sigma website

My digital rebel would look like a speck of dirt in need of being flicked off this lens.

$$$$????

Since the Sigma 120-300mm F/2.8 sells for around $2500, this might be another $10k lens.

Try bringing that into one of the parks and not be questioned on if you are a pro or not. ;)

I wonder if you can hand hold it if you do that standing on a string trick.

What are those little loops on the top for? Is that so you can lift it with a crane?

Try bringing that into one of the parks and not be questioned by law enforcement if you have a weapons permit or not ;)

Well, you know that if you hold it with that device and extend one of the chains to the floor and step on it while taking the picture, you may get a nice "tripod" effect and get a blur free photo!
