The Downtown Disney Courtyard by Marriott $20.03 per night special for the five "NIGHTS" of Sunday through Thursday, are for the dates August 10, 2003 through October 2, 2003 and December 1, 2003 through December 18, 2003.

Be aware that only a certain number of rooms are set aside for these prices.

Be aware that only Sunday night through Thursday night are available, and "FRIDAY" and "SATURDAY" nights are not included in the $20.03 per night special.

Be aware that you must give all your preferences of smoking, non-smoking, 1-king or 2- double beds, floor, view at the time that you make yor reservation because "NO CHANGES" are allowed after you make your reservation.

Be aware that your reservation "CAN NOT BE CHANGED, CANNOT BE REFUNDED" once you make your reservation. But you can add another name, besides your own name if later you find out that yo can not go. BUT, "NO REFUND."

I called the 800 number, 1-800-223-9930, and confirmed that I was actually talking to the Downtown Disney Courtyard by Marriot hotel on 1805 Hotel Plaza Road, Lake Buena Vista Road, Florida 32830. I say this because the hotel transfers their telephone number to the main, national reservation center after 7:00 P.M. EST (and they don't know about the special rate).

So make sure that you call Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. EST until 7:00 P.M. EST. And on Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. EST. I had the regular telephone number, also, at 407-826-8888. But I didn't have to use it.

Ask for the availability of the $20.03 per night special. No code is required. But you must call and talk to the reservationist at the specific hotel and not main reservations. So be aware of what time of the day that you call, too.
I did have to "pay for all" the nights with a credit card. No problem...it was only $20.03 per night.

The reservationist did say that it was "nonrefundable". No problem...the total price was $89.36 for the whole four night stay including taxes..."WOW!" Only $22.34 per night including taxes.

They don't send a written confirmation, but you should write your dates and confirmation number for yor records. And you can request a "FAX" or "EMAIL" reservatin confirmation.

They offered a kingsize bed on my August trip, but just a two double beds' room on my September trip. It doesn't hurt to ask, because they said they can't make changes, and no refunds after you make confirmation. They also had a kingsize bed for my two reservations in December, too.
Click here, to see all the amenities etc..

And here is the Downtown Disney Courtyard by Marriott web site,
Click here, to go there. If you want to be notified of other special rates by email, just scroll down their web site to just above their address. There you will see a place to click on to sign up for special notification of special rates.

Click here if you would like to see a video or slide show of the hotel. I wasn't able to view these slides or videos with my WebTV(MSNTV) computer , but maybe you can.

And if you are interested in "rewards", you can call the 800 number, 1-866-266-6626 to ask for a free "Marriott's Reward" card and information to be mailed to you. They will give you your Marriott Reward Number over the phone to use when you make your reservation.

They offered shuttle service every 30 minutes to the different parks. Even to DtD area from 6:00 P.M. until 3:00 A.M..
Click here, to see the Downtown Disney Courtyard by Marriott shuttle bus information and driving directions to parks, airport, Belz Mall, etc..

Click here, to see Deb Wills Frequently Asked Questions about Downtown Disney's Courtyard by Marriott Hotel. This has a lot of answers to a lot of questions everyone has been askng.

No early entry to the parks, but I think that she said E-night was available, and that you could make WDW dining reservations from te hotel.

I didn't think that I could use my WDW Annual Pass again until December, but now...I will be driving down after I get off work Monday morning on August 11, 2003. Then I'll leave early Friday morning on August 15, 2003, when I will drive back and go to work again that evening. I know, I'm crazy.

Anyone else going to be down there during this time?

I sure would like to have a DIS-meet and meet you.

If you would like, I could make a list here, by arrival and departure date, by DIS-name, by hotel or resort if you're interested.

Anyone else?

God bless you, best wishes, and encouragement, RaySharpton:)

Thanks for all the info! I have a question that someone might be able to answer. My reservation says high floor. When I made the reservation I asked if I could have a view of the fireworks. The woman said oh I'll put in a high floor request. I also requested that at least two of the rooms be connecting. So I guess I am just wondering if when it states high floor if it really means a view of the fireworks. What are the tower rooms I heard about?

This August will be the first time that I will have stayed at te Downtown Disney Courtyard by Marriott hotel.

There are usually two sides to a hotel, so I would imagine that one side would face Pleasure Island, which has some fireworks. And the higher that you are the better you will be able to see further.

I don't know if you can see the other parks.

Maybe you can call their 800 nuber again and ask.

Good luck, Ray:)

A few of the amenities are the same and most are different. The Downtown Disney Resort Area Hotels operate their own transit system. Therefore, if you wish to ride the Walt Disney World transit system, you must either have a passport which provides use of the transit system or purchase a bus pass.

Bus pass????? Since when is there a bus pass?

I think that technically to use the WDW bus transportation, like from the WDW resorts or Downtown Disney, you need to have an Annual /passport or WDW Resort room key.

But the bus drivers usually don't check it.

I think that a lot of people that were not staying on WDW Resort property, would park at any resort and use the bus transporation instead of paying for the parking pass to the parking lot at each of the parks.

The Downtown Disney hotels do not use WDW transportation buses. They use their own Greyhound-type, non-handicap-friendly busses to take you to the parks.

I didn't know you could buy a WDW transportation bus pass. Maybe that is a mistake.

It shouldn't be a problem to use the WDW bus, boat, or monorail transprtation once the Downtown Disney hotel bus drops you off at any of the parks. You could also walk to Downtown Disney Marketplace and catch a WDW bus.

I believe that any Disney ticket (ie. not just AP's, maybe not single day, single park  ) allows you transportation privileges. I don't have my ticket in hand, but I'll check it out.

I think that you are right Debbie. I bet any hopper ticket, WDW resort room key, Annual Passport would allow transportation.

Come to think of it, since they instituted all the security at the different resorts at the front gates; I don't recall any of the WDW bus drivers asking for proof. I know that when I drive to eat at another resort, the security guard asked my purpose for entering, to see a photo diver's lisense, and copies down my car's lisense plate, and then gives me a slip to put in my car window with a time limit.

I really don't think that you will have any problem using the WDW transportation system.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Through these boards, I have seen this $20 rate in the past.
For my possible planning purposes, does anyone know if this rate has been offered during May of previous years?
Thanks in advance.

Could I book for an arrival on Monday, Dec. 1st and departure on Friday, Dec. 12th at this rate and just pay the extra Friday and Sat. rate of that first week?

And if I did that (I don't know what their regular room rate is for a room with 2 double beds) what would it average out to per night that way?

I'm already booked at the HIFS for Dec. 3 - 16th but due to airline issues I may have to change everything.. I really, really want to try HIFS - BUT - this would be such a huge savings - it's really tempting!

Carol,
I've heard that if you are staying there with the $20 rate, you can get Fri and Sat at a special rate. Call and ask about it.

We stayed there for $25 in Nov 2001 and it was a great rate. The hotel has lots of amenities (as well as the rooms) and the rooms are very large with balconies. The pools are basic pools, but nice.
We requested fireworks view and we were in the tower on the 8th floor facing DTD. Very nice hotel. They granted all our requests and the staff was great. Nice Disney store. room service....the list goes on...

I guess that I waited a bit too long. I called the Marriot this morning and they told me that they don't have any more consecutive nights available in December. Apparently a lot of folks took advantage of this offer last week.

I have this booked for the end of September and added an extra night - Friday and the best price they could give me was $99.00. Thinking about doing Priceline for that extra night and stay somewhere else.

I put some more information on my thread link below the Santa Claus picture with some photos, and other stuff.

I'll be going again on September 29th, 2003 if you would like to ask any questions for me to try and find the answers for you.

But please post on the thread below.

God bless, best wishes, and encouragement, RaySharpton:)
