Just got to work and went to Google the story we're reading today in class. ("All Summer in a Day" by Ray Bradbury.)

The Google Logo is AMAZING today! It's inspired by 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea as today is (was) Jules Verne's birthday!

It's too cool. Definitely go and play with it. I can forsee spending my prep period making the Google logo dive!

I think it's great! Saw it just a bit ago and it may be one of my favorites that they have done! :lovestruc

Yeah....saw that myself this morning...Jules Verne was one of my favorite authors growing up.....and I had the 33RPM record for Disney's "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" movie....way back before there were VCR's, I used to listen to that record all the time....I loved it......loved "A Whale of a Tail".

Such fond memories. :)

Just showed my 10 yr old son the Jules Verne Google doodle. After explaining to him that Jules Verne was the man who wrote 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, he asked "Was he the imagineer that made the ride?"

Good question, but no. Just imagine what kind of rides he'd come up with if he WAS an imagineer though.
