I have a 2 year old girl diagnosed w/autism. Question about assitance cards, we are going to Busch Garden Tampa (assuming they have similar assistance program to Disney) in April. Want to get a card to help with ride times, will they give a card so the older typical kids and adults can go on rides she can't go on (roller coasters/big kid rides) with shorter wait, so my 2 year old will not be stuck waiting for them to go on rides? or is the card strictly for the child with the disability. I would hate to have to wait for 60+ minutes for us to get on a ride that she can't go on anyway. Anyone know how theme parks work with this situation?? Thanks!!

GAC is given to the person who needs assistance and is not intended to shorten wait time. Your best bet would be to take the 2 year old to another area (I think I heard about a new Sesame area at BG) and let the older kids go ride what they want and meet later.

BG is set up differently than Disney. The big draws at BG are the super thrill rides, but they have "kiddie" areas set up near them for families with the younger kids, since so many of the rides are off limits to smaller children.

Also at BG, you can purchase a "quick pass," similar to the Disney fastpass. However, if I were you I'd wait until you get there to see if you need it. If you ride the big coasters first, the rest of the lines might not be too terrible.

Good luck!

Even at Disney you will not necessarily have shorter wait times, but will wait in a different area (usually the handicap enterance). If a ride has FASTPASS, you should get one and use it.

We made a trip to Busch Gardens this week so DD could check out the coasters. This is during a big spring break time, when lines are easily 60-90 minutes for headliners at Disney. Anyway, she waited 15 minutes at most for the big headliners at BG. I get the impression that BG pulls a lot of locals in for the summer, but the rest of the year the lines don't seem to be anything like WDW. Plus, the kiddie play areas are nice and are right by the headliner rides. Hopefully you guys will be fine.
