We have the opportunity to stay in Orlando for two weeks over Christmas and New Years. We have only ever stayed on site and the longest was for 7 days.

Any advice for condo rentals? Areas? I've been doing some research, but it is very overwhelming.

Also, when would you suggest booking?

We doing the same you we decide at the Residence Inn at Lake Burena Vista. They have suites with a kitchen and room to sleep five people. We is going for our family reunion/ cruise trip. Right now we have whole floor book just for family and more my coming on the trip. We going for Christmas too and there was no way was I eating out that much.

I'm scoping out places at Windsor Hills for that time frame, too. (one week, not two) I think for a two week trip your best bet would be a condo or townhome. I think I'd get sick of any hotel room after about 8 days! I looked on VRBO.com and found tons of great looking condos for rent during that time. And the prices are fantastic!

Are you going to be spending all 2 weeks at the parks? I would suggest Windsor Hills or Crestwynd Bay (right near Windsor Hills but it's not as popular yet b/c it's a newer community, so it's cheaper!). A lot of others on here swear by Wyndham Bonnet Creek. Others have told me about Emerald Bay, Encantada and Indian Hills (I think it is!) We stayed in Windsor Hills last year and are trying out Crestwynd Bay this trip. I considered changing to Wyndham Bonnet Creek, but can't justify the cost :sad1:

I'll look into that place. Thanks! I could not eat out for 2 weeks!!

Yeah, could not do a hotel room for that long. The prices I've been seeing are great.

I can't wait to hear how you liked them. Thanks for all the suggestions. No, not at the parks the entire time. My DH will be working some so we'll hang out at the condo or local places.

I'm worrying about Internet at these places too. My DH will be working while there and will need reliable Internet access.

All of the condos and townhomes I have been looking at in Windsor Hills have free wifi. I'm pretty sure that it isn't shared, so it should be reliable and pretty fast. I'm sure you could email the owners of the condos or townhomes to confirm that.

Thanks. I haven't emailed anyone yet. Just looked at the Crestwynd and they are nice!!

How do you find Bonnet Creek rentals??

We stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Resort (Lake Buena Vista). We had a 2 bedroom villa - the cost for 6 nights was less than $1,100. The villa was fantastic - and there was a lot to do. It is just a short ride to the parks and for our first time off site we really enjoyed ourselves.

We are staying at this Emerald Island townhome in two weeks. We stayed there in June 2010 and really enjoyed it. The description does not mention wi-fi, but the condo has it. I will confirm that if you are interested in this particular one. The good thing is that rates are the same all year. Many places charge more for holidays. It is like $467/week here, 3 bedrooms/3 baths, and right across a parking lot from the clubhouse/pool.
