Any place in the area where a family of 4 can stay for 2 weeks? Reputable homes for rent? Doesn't even have to be across the street from the parks...anywhere near by, clean, safe. Has anyone used craigslist? The majority of our time will be at the parks (morning/night) but want to swim and relax during the days.

I would use www.VRBO.com over craigslist. It is where vacation or home owners can list their properties for rent.

I also suggest vRBO or airbnb, you can at least read reviews there and there is more info and options. We have used both for vacations (not at Disney) and it has worked out well.

We have a family of 6. There are 2 condos that work well - we have stayed in the one closest to DL and are planning on staying at the one which is next to the convention center which we chose because it looks a bit nicer. If you look on vrbo for townhouses or condos, look at the location. The map will show a complex directly west of Downtown Disney (Pepperwood Village is the name of the complex) which you catch the shuttle at Disney and Friends parking lot, and the other one directly south of the Convention Center (Sherwood Village) shuttle at Toy Story parking lot. Prior to that we stayed at Homewood Suites and took their shuttle which was included in the stay booked through Getawaytoday for the days included on the parkhopper. The hotel has a mini kitchen and free breakfast every day and dinner on weeknights. It worked well but was too tight for 6 as our kids were getting bigger. The pool here was just ok.

extended stays are very common for vacation rentals. contact managers listed on the VRBO/airbnb sites.
