2 thumbs down for new “Turning Red” movie

Snow White came out in 1937. Is there any other 1930s animation you like better?

How good it was in the 1930s has zero relevance to today. It can be an important film while not being great by todays standards. When ranking your favorite films I would suspect the normal way to do it would be based on which film you would want to watch the most right now and enjoyed the most recently.

Or millennials like me who were 13/14 back in 2002. Took me right back to middle school, and all the agony and the ecstasy that came with it. Anyways, I loved it. Loved the anime influences, all the Chinese culture, the pre-teen-ness of it all. One of my Pixar faves now, for sure.
Not a millennial but I thought it captured the tumultuous emotions of a 13 yo girl very well.

ET was my fave and Goonies was my husbands! I thought Grease was a kids' movie. My dating uncle and aunty took me to see it in the theater when I was a pre-tween. Listened to that "album" non-stop for years. That music raised me.
I went to a small Catholic school and we had a class of 15 boys and 16 girls. Once or twice a year from grades 5-8 we’d have to vote on a movie to watch on a day of down-time and the girls always voted for Grease. Looking back, I’m surprised the nuns went for it.

Sounds like my school!

While reading the comments, I was thinking about the movies I was watching as a kid in the 80's. Some of these commenters would be horrified at what us Gen X'ers watched as kids :rotfl2:
So true for us in the 70's too. We watched Jaws when I was in 2nd grade ON THE BOARDWALK. Needless to say, no one wanted to go in the ocean after that. When HBO first came out, I was around 11 or 12, and my mom worked evenings. Dad probably fell asleep on the couch. I watched The Exorcist with my sister and BFF.:scared1: This most definitely scarred me for life. I don't think I'll ever not be afraid of the dark, and her creepy eyes & voice.
