I don't usually think to pop over here, but I pulled all my scrapping stuff out today to do a little work on my Disney trip. I'm having 2 problems that I hope you guys can help me with.

1. I bought an album at WDW that included some page protectors. It is a 12X12, post bound album. The problem is that the page protectors don't work. When I turn the page, it won't lay flat. Instead, it curls the page up and messes everything up. Is there any way to fix this? I don't really want to have to buy all new expensive refills.

2. Some of my 12X12 sheets are bigger than others. When I have them back to back in a page protector, you can see the edge of the other sheet around the smaller one. Is this normal?

I can only help with #2. There isn't a "standard" for 12x12 paper, unfortunately. It can (and does) vary widely from manufacturer to manufacturer. So unless you measure and cut each piece, you'll chance having paper peeking out from behind another sheet. :(

I think problem number 1 relates to problem number 2. There might be a possibility that the page protectors are a whisker smaller than the paper, which could cause the issue you mention.

I had the same problem with the page protectors in one the scrapbooks I bought at WDW too. I wrote them and they sent me a whole new book...same problem. I finally went to my local scrapbook store (Michaels) and just bought some new Page Protectors that had a wider margin where the post holes are. This solved the problem. I think the ones in the WDW Scrapbook may just be too narrow. Hope this helps.

I've had the same problems with the albums I bought at DW. I just bought page protectors at M's or AC Moore. Saved me lots of aggravation!

Thanks! I'm glad to know these problems aren't just mine. Next time I get out of town, I'll check out some new page protectors. We have a small scrapbooking store here in town and everything is overpriced, so I will check Michaels for them when I'm near one.

It really seems like 12x12 should mean 12x12, but I guess not. Oh well, I guess I'll have to learn to not be so picky. That's my biggest scrapbooking problem. I'm way too particular and second guess myself really bad, so it takes me about an hour per 2 page layout. I end up getting frustrated and don't enjoy myself.

I have noticed that pages are not always square. If you turn them sideways, they usually fit.

I try to cut a paper guide to whatever size the page protector in the album is (and a scooch smaller0 and keep it in the last page protector of the album. I also make arrows to show which way is up. I have different albums made by different companies and all the paper seems to be a "different" size 12 x 12. I've had too many headaches after I've finish a great page and tried to put it in a page protector and it doesn't fit :confused3
