there are 4 of us, my husband , 17 yr old son and his friend, and myself.
we can get 2 rooms at the sog (hubby is active duty Air Force) or we can get one room at the yacht/beach club. We have been to disney before, and I like being close to epcot, but I dont know if I want to share a room with 2 teenagers! I have also stayed at the sog, and while the hotel is nice and the price is right, I hate the trasportation!
need help deciding what to do, one room at a deluxe, or 2 rooms at sog!
Thanks

I would get two rooms at Shades of Green and walk to the Polynesian to use their transportation (from what I've read it is an easy walk) take the monorail from the Poly to MK or walk to the TTC to get to Epcot. Have a great trip whichever you decide!

I'd go with the two large rooms at the SOG. We didn't find the walk to the Poly and TTC to be any trouble at all. I couldn't imagine spending more money for one smaller room just to be close to EPCOT. But that's just me. pirate:

When are you planning on going? There is a really good rate for military between late August and 10/04. It is 40% off rack rates for 4 nights or more. Might make a difference. We like SoG but we prefer the deluxe.

I would vote for two rooms at SOG. Two bathrooms would be great, making it much quicker to get ready.

Have you checked the government rate at Swan/Dolphin. You might be able to spring for two rooms there (for about the same as or a little more then one room at YC/BC) and you'll be by Epcot.

Am I missing something...I thought SOG was a deluxe....sure seemed that way to me - loved the large rooms and 2 large baths with connecting rooms, transportation was good once you got the schedule down and we often used the Poly transportation, the only thing I would use my own car for is DTD, shades doesnt run a bus during the day there.

I would go with 2 @ SOG.
Remember SOG charges no tax.
So dining @ resturants & shopping in gift shop is tax free.
I also love the no smoking resort.
As to the DTD no bus in the day.
We walk to Poly take monorail to MK.
Bus to DTD you can bus back to any park.
I think you maybe can take a boat to DTD form MK.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
