2 reservations: preferred and premium, what approach so we don't have to move?

Hi Everyone,

So, because of snow days messing with the school calendar we found ourselves shifting our upcoming June trip and cutting off plans prior to the Fort. So that left us needing to add a few days at the Fort at the tail end of our trip. Our original reservation is for a Preferred spot. The new additional segment only had Premium available, so I nabbed it.

Should I:

A. Change the original to a Premium? (I kinda really wanted to try one of the preferred loops, but I really would like to mitigate the chance of having to move sites)
B. Keep stalking that second segment in case a Preferred becomes available?
C. Keep the combo of Preferred and Premium and hope that they can leave us on Preferred for the additional days?

I am pretty certain if you were on a "Premium" and had a mixed reservation with "Preferred" that they would make you move, however, I am not sure if you are on Preferred (but paid for premium) they would. I am guessing though, that if that were the case, then that means you should be able to get a reservation (even if it's on "arrival" day) for the preferred and problem would be solved. Otherwise, you would be paying for someone else to upgrade their preferred to Premium (if that makes sense).

Either way, I think you need to try and get the reservations all the same type.

I say leave it, keep trying back to see if a cancellation will fix the problem. We've had folks on here post in the past about being in a similar situation and Disney ended up leaving them where they were. Can't help to try right up to the last moment.

Thanks for the input, guys. Another factor that I just noticed when I logged in to check MDE for availability - my parents are meeting up with us for a portion of the time and they also booked Preferred. They usually book FHU, so the Preferred must have been deliberate on my mom's part to have a better chance of being near one another. More reason to stay Preferred and keep watching for that second segment to show up and/or take our chances at having to move. Wouldn't be the end of the world, but it would be nice to not have to move.

i had premium for several nights but the last was only regular as they didn't have it, but they let me stay where we were.... hoping that happens later this year as well....
