So I need to book two restaurants for same time same night... (Date night for hubby and I... we are going with a party of 4 (Sister and brother)

I am not booking these to hold my decisions. These are needed for two groups that need to eat, just not together.

I am freaking out a little. Having read the threads that discuss the ethics of double booking... I do not want to think that Disney may cancel my date night.

They are booked under different names, but attached to one ressie as we are on the Dining Plan.

Am I going to be okay?

They don't ever cancel double bookings. You will get a little pop-up that asks you if you want to keep both reservations or cancel one. Choose "keep" and you are good to go. They would never start canceling reservations automatically...they would have lots of upset people standing at their restaurants who booked in your similar situation and you definitely would hear massive complaints from those it happened to on here. LOL.
If you are really worried about it, book each one with a different phone number, but there isn't really a need to do that. :)
I think some on here get a little "overzealous" about people double booking just because they can't decide where to eat and they like to put a little scare into them.

Thanks Mistress Merryweather!!!

You are most surely a Fairy in the real world! Thanks for putting my worries at ease.

I fear the Dis has its good and its... never ending cross word puzzles. :)

I had one of mine canceled in October. We invited my brother and sister in law to go with us to stay in a 2 bedroom villa. One night we were dining in 2 different restaurants. A few days before that date, I got an email from Disney advising me that one of the reservations had been cancelled since I had 2 booked at the same time. However, I have never heard of this happening to anyone else.

I had a ressie cancelled too last fall. I would make each ressies under different names just to be on the safe side. That's what they told me to do next time.
