1. Anyone have any trouble with taking chewing gum in his/her carry-on?

2. Can anyone recommend a good "solid" lip balm? We ALWAYS travel with lip balm, but our usual Balmex and Vaseline will be confiscated.

TIA

Unfortunately, gum is still allowed.
I think Blistix makes one that is solid. Chapstick, according to the ever changing list of banned items, is allowed.

burts bee balm!!! the stuf ROCKS! I have chronic problems with chapped lips..and since I discovered burts..no more! They even have tinted ones for those of us who hate lipstick but could use a little color!

Bath and Bodyworks stores carry a wide selection of "stick" lip balms such as Burt's Bees, Savannah Bee Company, and Bigelow. I have used all three and find them superior to Chapstick.
