Hi All...

#1 - If I check in at the Poly and receive a "bad room" can I request to be moved for the night to Grand Floridian, and will they honor my discounted code? I am booked at the Poly LVC for a 7 night stay arriving Monday 11/29/04. I just do not want a room that I do not like for 7 nights!

#2 - My sister may come to visit. Can she park in the Poly lot for the day? How do I handle the lounge. Tell her to wait in the lobby while I relax in the lounge?

Honestly, I need help with these answers!

Pat

If you arrive at the Poly and your room for some reason is unacceptable than by all means go back to the front desk and ask for another. However, as to your question about being able to switch resorts and them honoring your discount code...I think it all depends on A. if there is availibility to switch and B. if the rooms available at the resort you want to switch to, have any discounted rooms available. That being said though, if your staying concierge I'm sure you most likely won't end up with a room you really dislike. Esp. at the Poly ~ I've heard really good things about their conceirge;) Also, I'd think they'd go out of their way to make sure you are happy with your room staying on the Conceirge level.

As to your sister coming to visit, they give out 3hr passes to self parking visitors at the Poly as they don't want people parking there and going to the parks and because they have a pretty small self parking lot. Maybe if you ask the front desk they can give you a resort guest parking pass so that you won't have to worry about that? If not she can always valet park without problem with no time constraint but it will cost $6 plus tips. About the lounge, not sure what you mean?? Do you mean the lounge/bar?? or lounge chair like at the pool?? If you mean at the pool, only registered guests are permitted to use the pool at the Poly as pool hopping isn't permitted (unless you're a DVC member staying on points ~ but restrictions apply and that's a whole other story). You would need to first obtain permission from the front desk and or the lifeguards at the pool to have her swim with you. If you can get a resort room key for her than you'll be fine. If you meant the lounge/bar, there's NO problem there. She can dine, shop and be at the POLY for all other reasons (other than the pool) with no problem.

Enjoy!

I can't answer the parking, but I believe the last poster took care of that one for you including moving from a bad location. I believe they would relocate you if at all possible.

The concierge lounge is really meant for paying concierge guests only. It doesn't appear she will be staying with you overnight, so your best bet would to be to spend time with your sister at the bar/lounge area in the resort. If you want to go all out and if you have the space, have your sister stay the night with you and add her to the reservation (may cost extra) so she can have all the same priviledges as yourself. That would be an awesome treat for her!

Oh yeah ....The concierge lounge ...DUH:crazy: Can ya tell I wasn't with it today lol?

Thanks VAgal76;)

When we have stayed concierge, in the past, they have checked to make sure those entering are actually staying at the resort. You can always add her to your room for one night and not have her stay, too. I'm not sure how much it is but at the moderates it is only $15 or $20. Then comes the question of how long you are going to stay in the lounge and would it be worth it. The Poly is a beautful resort and there are lots of places to just hang out.
