I am getting ready to buy six 2 park AP passes for the special price of $99 ea with the code from the FL lottery ticket. I noticed in the fine print "activate by sept 4, 2005". Our trip is not until Feb 06. Does anyone know if this activation means the offer is over after sept. 4th or the AP's must be activated by that date? This same AP is always offered for $119 w/o an activation date. TIA

I noticed that AFTER i bought ours. It was not right there to see on the order form I went through tickets not florida lottery offer page. I cant activate our until Jan so I am going to have to contact them to see what can be done. I am sure the worst case scenario is that they will make me pay the full power pass price. :confused3 It also does not say to activate them by september on the confirmation email.

You can actually activate anytime but you must purchase the pass by Sept.4.

Are you sure they will expire Sept 4th? I don't think so...I called today and they said that the only thing Sept. 4th signifies is the last day they will accept the coupon. If I activate mine September 25, it will be good until Sept 25, 2006.

I can't find ANY fine print that says "must ACTIVATE by 9/4/05." I see where the COUPON said it must be used by 9/4/05, but not the AP.

Read Airwolf's post below. It has the correct information.

I went back and reread the fine print. It does say "activate by Sept 4, 2005". I'm not sure when the pass will expire, possible 9/4/06. That is the big question.

I called guest relations and they said you can activate the pass ANY TIME and it is valid for 1 year on activation. I said I would not be activating it till January is that ok she said that is fine.

I'm taking your word on this and just ordered 6 of these. Since we are moving to Celebration we plan to visit Universal and IOA quite a bit in 06.

Oops! Just found out these passes do expire on Sept 4th 2006! Last week I was told they would expire one year after they were activated. This is not good news! If anyone needs 6 of these, please let me know!

Your Power passes will expire One Year after first use. The date is only when the lotto coupon will no longer be accepted. If they told you that it would expire 9/04/06 at Vacation Services they were wrong. All the coupon gets you is a discount does not change the integraty of the power pass.

Thanks Airwolf! I called again (3rd time) and this time they said what you said! I think I will leave it at that... Looks like I'm set!

I ordered 3 of the Power Passes yesterday using the FLA Lottery coupon. I was concerned about the activation date more than the expiration date as we don't plan on being at Universal until September 6th. The person I spoke to was Scott with the Annual Pass Purchasing Department (or whatever they call theirselves). He said that the passes can be activated whenever, but the expiration date will be the earlier of either 1 year from date you first activated or September 4, 2006. Also, I asked him about the Blackout Dates for 2006, and asked if more dates were added, would my passes be grandfathered to the dates as they are now when I purchased them and he said yes. Seems like everyone is getting different info on the expiration date! I've called several times and asked questions, but the answers seem to vary.

Interested in what they tell you this time! Has anyone received theirs yet and is there any paperwork with them explaining the expiration/activation dates or the blackout dates? In my case, the expiration date of Sept. 4th will only be a couple of days off from my activation date, but for those who are looking at activating in later months the expiration date would be a big factor. I figured in my case the price was the same as the "Buy 2 days get 3 days free" without the constraint of must be used in just a few days. And if I'm lucky, we may be going back in May. We have some friends that may be going and we will join them since our passes would already be paid for. That was why I'm concerned about the chance of blackout days being added later.

are these tix available only to florida residents? if not, they seem to be a good deal... how does one get a code or a coupon? we're going in two weeks and planning to do only a day or two... but because our airfare went down considerably and we have a LOT of airline credit to use, i'm considering a jan '06 trip as well... these would come in mighty handy then!

The tickets are available to anyone that has a coupon code that comes with the purchase of certain lottery tickets from the state of Florida. Details are available at the Universal ticket site under the Annual Passes tab. I can't post the link (not enough DIS postings) but maybe someone else can if you can't find it.

i found the info on the universalflorida.com site... just don't have the code and don't have anyone in florida to get it for me... wahhhh!

Calm down everyone. I work on the front line at Islands Of Advneture I am telling you your pass will expire one year from first use. Do not call the annual pass department, they do not always know. I will definately find out who Scott is and tell him to get his info straight. Your passes are good until you use them and then expire a year from that date.

I know that many of you don't know Airwolf Ace, but I do. I can guarantee you that if Airwolf says something that you can trust it to be accurate. Don't let Airwolf's low post count fool you as Airwolf know tons more than I can ever hope to know about Universal/IoA policies and procedures.
