2 Officers shot in Dallas tonight during police protest rally

How horrible. Reminds me of the two awful shootings of cops in Canada in recent year. The one in Alberta with 4 officers shot and the later one in New Brunswick with 3 officers. Terrible.

.

*edit*

Unlike some on this forum, the media and our political leaders, I'm going to wait until there are more facts before I place blame. The reality of all this is; a man is dead in Minnesota, a man dead in Louisiana, and now 4 officers dead in Dallas. Absolutely disgusting.

Im not. I blame humans with guns. I 100% blame human beings wielding weapons with bullets.

No one is out there throwing knives at police officers right now. No one was stabbed or hit with an arrow during a traffic stop.

Once again, humans + gun.

And humans kill with cars and knives as well. In fact knives kill 5x more people than guns in this country. I myself don't own a gun, but I support the right to own a gun. The truth is bad people will still find a way to get a gun.

Horrifying amount of gunfire being played on CNN. So scarey.

Thank you for sharing that. I haven't turned on the tv and now I won't. That would wreck sleep. Dallas will be in my thoughts. How terrifying for all of those people still there or nearby.:guilty:

Freaking news. . . showed the black guy with a rifle and it turns out her had nothing to do with it.

Thank goodness some vigil-anti didn't decide to act on the 'news'.

I hope he doesn't end up being hurt.

I don't know if it's the news media or Dallas PD who apparently tweeted that picture and called for help identifying the suspect. Either way, it's reckless.

Edited to add
Yeah I checked out the Dallas PD twitter feed and they are the ones that put the picture out there.

That pic was everywhere - seemed he thought it was smart to bring an assault rifle to the rally - his brother said once the shooting started he gave the gun to a police officer.

I know he was exercising his 2nd amendment right - but come on! Just because you "can" doesn't mean you "should"!

It was the Dallas PD who was asking for help identifying him as a person of interest.

Who goes to a protest wearing camouflage and carrying a rifle? I don't get it.

And if there was no ambush nobody would have thought anything of it. Apparently walking around with rifles is something that happens in Texas.

The gentleman was making a point.

I think it's weird, and it would bug me to see someone with carrying a gun openly at a protest, but that's because I'm afraid of guns.

Remember 2009? Apparently open carrying guns near the President was "IN" at the time.
