Last year was our first trip as a family. My then 4yo was on the stroller most of the time. It was nice to have the stroller to store our cups and the souviners. I know if you stay onsite they will deliver souviners to you resort for you so I guess I will just have to tell my kids they have to wait if they buy something. What do you do with drinks and stuff while you are on a ride? We used our refillable mugs last year but I would be afraid to throw them in a bag while on a ride since they don't close tightly. I have the Disney messenger bag with my name on it. I think for a bag that would really be all we need and the boys can have a fanny pack or something little like that.

What do you use and what do you do with you stuff on rides? Our boys will be 10 and 6 when we go. Thanks.

The ice water is free at the CS restaurants. Just get some when your thirsty...no need to lug drinks around!

We bought the refillable mugs on our last trip to WDW but we didn't really use them in the parks...we just used them to get the free refills at the resort but if we were on our way to the park, the mugs were usually empty by the time we got there. I bought cheap caribiner clips from the Dollar Tree and hooked those to the handles which got hooked to the stroller, but could also easily be hooked to a bag (obviously only when empty).

We also bought bottled water and soda pop to carry with us to the park. I have a water bottle pocket on my bag and dh uses a water bottle carrying strap. And of course they sell water and pop by the bottle in the parks as well. When we get pop in a paper cup, it usually doesn't last long enough to become a problem when getting on a ride.

You could use one of those straps for carrying water bottles, then refill from the CS cold fountains.

I bought the kids little belts that hold a bottle of water - they are so cute!! If they don't want to carry it, they will have to share a drink when we're all thirsty because I'm not carrying around 5 bottles of water!!

My girls had water bottles and used these to carry them. It kept their hands free and we could set them down if we needed to for rides.

At the little carts that sell drinks throughout the parks you can buy little lanyard type things that tighten around the top of a water bottle or soda bottle. They are LIFESAVERS. DH and I use them all of the time when we go without our kids. (Our kids are so small we always have at least 1 stroller LOL)

My 4yo DS collects horses. He is as much of a cowboy as he can be without having a real horse. I am sure he would love that horse bottle holder! I actually have a bottle holder like that that is just purple, I didn't even remember I had it till now.

Yes, we do this as well. The kids wear them around the neck then over one shoulder and find it very comfortable. They also put a few pins on them for trading so they don't have to wear more than one lanyard.

I find if they have the water with them all the time they drink more :) We refill at the counter serve restaurants or the water fountains and I carry some drop in's as well.

We use hydration backpacks.

We have one with a few compartments to it that we are able to put snacks and other necessities in. The kids have ones that are just the bladder with mesh straps. DD loved it because it kept her cool.

I just get the 12 oz. bottles of water or soda at Publix...the ones with the screw on lids (plus they can be refilled at a fountain). In my family, if you're old enough to walk without a stroller you're old enough to have a small backpack on for the day and carry your own stuff. Each child takes his drink and a couple of snacks to carry, plus his own 99 cent rain poncho. Works well for us and poor mom doesn't get stuck lugging everything for everyone.

I also like to bring the powder drink flavor packets for the water.

I second the poster who said water is free at Disney restaurants or snack counters. We just stop and get those when we are thirsty. We do have a stroller but prefer not to carry water bottles around.

We just get a drink when we are thirsty and throw it out when we are done with it. We never feel the need to have a drink on hand at all times, but then we usually don't go in the horrid summer months!

You will love being stroller free! We absolutely adore it! We travel light and it is so much easier to move around through the crowds and get into line for things without worrying about some dumb stroller. I can't understand why some folks refuse to give them up :confused3

The refillable mugs are only for your resort anyway, plus who would want to lug those things around all day?

If you want to be green (not use lots of paper cups or disposable water bottles) then I recommend the Sigg Bottles. The cap has a loop that you can put a carabiner thru then hook it to a belt loop. For all that the bottles themselves are metal they are very lightweight - they weigh no more than plastic bottles and none of those nasty chemicals (BPAs?) or that plastic taste transfer to your water. We have them and love them.

We actually like the Klean Kanteen bottles better. They seem to keep our water cold longer? And they have a wide mouth so you can fill it with ice easier. The straps we use work well with the bottles too :) They make them where you can use a carabiner and hook it through but we prefer the pop up sports bottle top. Everyone in our family owns 2. 1 to use and 1 to wash.

We liked the Klean Kanteen's too, but can't get accessories for them at our local outdoor store so we went with the Sigg instead.
