It's my 1st post :) I did a search but didn't find my answer (although I may have missed it)
Anyway, I will be taking my 2 kiddos alone in 9 days (woo hoo!) and I was feeling good about it because they're 48 and 46". I know we might not be able to ride all rides, but most. My friend, however, thought that we need an adult for each child. Am I correct in assuming that my 7 year old will be able to ride alone and I ride next to my 5 year old on the Barnstormer, for example?

{It may be that her daughter was still 6 when they went last time and that is the confusion, but I just want to make sure so that we don't wait in line for no reason :) }

Any other tips for a single parent w/ 2 kids? Thanks in advance :)

Yes you can. I took my 3 DSs to Disneyland when they were 8, 6 & 5 and did quite well. Never had a single problem getting on rides together. Take it easy and relax.

I'm a single mom with 2 young boys (first time I went boys were 4 and 5) and everything we wanted to ride, the 3 of us rode together no problem! The rides really do accommodate for that :)

Last year my mom came with me, and that made things easier, but she didn't want to go to Splash Mountain or Big Thunder, and we still fit easy the 3 of us in one seat (and the boys were 5 and 6 that time). So you should be good! Even now, my 7.5 year old would rather sit the 3 of us together than by himself.

I have a similar situation with kids 5 and 8 . According to the research I did so far, is tomorrowland speedway something we can' t do ? They have a 54" ride alone requirement, unless one ride can fit all 3of us, otherwise we might not be able to ride this one. I wonder are there any other rides in the 4parks with such requirement ? Thanks.

Hmmm that I don't know. We never road the Speedway. Kids weren't interested in that one. LOL I'm not sure if there were other kids with that requirement. :confused3 I'm sure someone else will know :thumbsup2

I rode The Speedway when I went alone with my kids. They were 4 and 7 at the time. We fit fine all together. They even asked if both kids wanted to drive, and when I said yes, they put a flag on our car and let us go around the track twice in a row so that they each had a turn. That was completely unexpected and very much appreciated as it was August and crazy hot and there was no way that I was waiting in line twice!

That was really nice of them to do it . Hopefully we would have similar experience... Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the replies! Im so relieved to hear that my 7 year old will be able to fly solo if I have to ride with my 5 year old. And also glad that BTMR can fit 3 across. I cant wait to see my baby's face when we ride on that as it was my eldest's favorite when we went 2 years ago.

Two years ago I waited in line with my husband and daughter at Tomorrowland Speedway. Behind us was a guy with two kids, and he asked if I would mind riding with his daughter (she was 7 or 8) so both of his kids could drive. Thought that was very sweet, and of course, I was happy to! If your kids aren't shy, that's always an option. It was fun chatting with the little girl, and she was pretty thrilled to drive in front of her dad!

that's great to know. You should add this to the "Tips" Thread. I'm sure there are folks who would really appreciate this info.

I just went in November with my 2 kids, ages 5 & 7. My husband had to back out at the last minute due to work so I was nervous going alone with them. The 7 year old was able to ride by herself on Great Goofini (Barnstomer) and Dumbo. We were able to fit 3 across on all other rides. I think I lost some hearing when I was sitting in between them on Big Thunder! We all fit across on Speedway. The lines were short so we just went back in line for the second one to drive. Out of the many trips we have taken, that one was probably my favorite! Have fun!!!
