I have to agree with you.. I've heard about/seen some detentions, a couple of suspensions (all in junior high school and up - both public and private schools), but never "expelled" - and certainly not at 6 years old..
And then there's the matter of there being two of them (possibly 3 - still not clear on that) from the same family and something just doesn't add up.. (Assuming of course, that any of the Gosselin children have actually been suspended and expelled..)
And if the school was just tired of dealing with the publicity and/or Kate, wouldn't they have expelled all of them?![]()
Yes, absolutely. If the school were just tired of the publicity they would have suggested that all eight of the Gosselin children be withdrawn with no repercussions at the end of the semester. Not expel a couple in November.
And yes, we are still questioning whether or not the story is true. I do think that -- were it false -- we would have heard from the Gosselins or TLC with a distinct rebuttal by now. This very damaging story has been out since Wednesday.
As the children are working, and as their work permits have to be signed off on by the school district, even with PA's inadequate Child Labor laws, I'd think that behavioral problems that reach the level of expulsion from might indicate that the children should not be working until their emotional and behavioral needs are met.
It seems that the whole family (minus Jon) is still filming. They were filming in a corn maze recently, per photographic evidence. Was this before or after the expulsions? Or is Kate, as the primary custodial parent, just voluntarily moving the kids to home schooling so that filming time is maximized? I hope not. Nothing against home schooling per se, but the Gosselin kids could benefit from traditional school, IMO.
