Hi there, you two And wow!!! How much fun is this?!!! While people outside the Dis might think this weird...I totally love it and totally get the whole 2000 mile friendship thing. Awesome!!!! My longtime Dis friend Erin (DisneyDoc5) and I just met for the first time in August...at Disney, of course. She and her son were there for a week, so Stephen and I drove down for the weekend to meet them. Had a blast!!!! Y'all will have the time of your lives, and it will be a trip your girls won't forget. Exciting that you're staying at the Lodge...one of my favorites The pool area construction will be finished when you get there, so the pool should look fabulous!!! Y'all should get matching American Girl doll outfits for Willow and Maddie's dolls. (Doesn't Willow have one?) Would be fun to have them bring their dolls to the World.

That's so cool that you had a DIS trip recently too!

I knew you would be happy to hear we were going to stay at the WL!

You know, I have never been able to convince Willow that there is anything remotely interesting about dolls. I don't get it.

So excited for y'all!! Wish I had an idea for the surprise...but nothing pops out. Not good with that kind of stuff.

It's so hard to come up with something!

As for the reveal... That's a hard one. what about a game of hang man or some other fill in the blank puzzle over facetime or something so that the girls could figure it out together?

Oh wow, how exciting! I love the idea of a mother/daughter trip with friends! And the DIS is so incredible for making friends. Honestly, some of my closest friends I've met thanks to the DIS.

That's so great that it worked out! It can be so difficult to coordinate schedules. I'm friends with a lot of "DisBrides" who got married in Disney, and we tried to plan a meet-up. We actually ended up with about 20 girls in Feb. 2013, but a lot of people, including those I was originally rooming with, backed out! But we have another meet up in just a few weeks that I'm super excited about

Your resort choices sound great! I've never stayed at Wilderness Lodge but I think DH would really like the themeing, so we'll have to try it some day. We stayed in a Royal Room last trip and they are awesome - I bet the girls will absolutely love it!

I am so excited about the WL - I didn't really think I would ever choose to stay there (given that I am from the Pacific Northwest), but after we visited it for dinner on our last trip, I was sold on it. And I always think the Royal Rooms look so fun!

Hello! Long time no update! I guess when a trip is this far out, there isn’t always a lot to talk about.

But there is today!!!

We finally told Willow and Maddie that they are going to WDW together!

As you know, we had a very hard time deciding how to tell them. We definitely liked the idea of revealing it to them “together” via FaceTime. But how? Well, after much consideration, Courtney’s brilliant idea won out!

So Mickey Mouse sent each girl a letter or email, telling them each that all the princesses were really excited to see them, and the last princess mentioned on the last page was the other girl. Here, see what I mean?

Maddie had an identical letter (except it was addressed to her ) that she received via email.

Willow’s letter ended like this:

So were they surprised? Are they excited? Do you want to see for yourself??????

To say that we are all excited now would be a huge understatement! The girls are now making long lists of things that they need to discuss on weekly FaceTime calls - you know, things like which stuffed animals they should bring, which princess dresses they will wear, etc. I'm sure we will be updating you on their planning before long!

hiiiii I just found this trip report randomly while reading others and oh my GOSH I had to come and follow along! everything about this is so adorable and exciting! AND I love how you guys were online friends and are now meeting at Disney - because my friends and I did that exact thing last year and then for a second trip this year! ANDDD we're writing a trip report together too, so this is very relevant to my interests

anyway, your girls are so so cute and I can't wait to read about all the fun things you guys will get up to together. meeting my best friends at Disney for the first time was pretty much the most magical moment of my life so I KNOW you guys are going to have such an amazing time. so excited to watch what happens!!!
